Chapter 219: Serpentine Devil's cause of rage (b)

Well, everything was going well at first. It was helping its political party by eliminating and coercing those in opposition. In return, it got many weapons and drugs. However, it got caught and then severely punished. It lost one of its two extraordinary power. Then, everything it had earned so far, its lord also ordered that to be taken away!

To make matters worse, Belphegor publicly humiliated it by having it whipped under the eyes of an uncountable number of demons. He got released after getting hit for seventy days and seventy nights! From its head to its butt, everything was in bruises. It had lost most of its scale and now looked no different than a fatherless chicken!

The other generals making fun of it and coming every day to laugh at Its hideous face was the cherry on top of the cake!

The past few weeks had been the worst ones of their lives. It reminded the serpentine devil of its distasteful past, one in which it was a very weak demon who was bullied by those stronger than itself.

One could say that it was in a terrible mood.

It was resting in one of the few planets it owned when suddenly, one of its apostles started calling out to him. It was angry but not stupid. The call belonged to a talented youngster with a very high chance of becoming a good subordinate. The serpentine devil knew that he needed to nurture Tyler Barnes carefully, and he would not regret it. Tyler was an unrefined gem buried in the dust of a planet far away. Planet Earth, a small blue place that it wanted to conquer. Of course, Belphegor and the other demonic general didn’t know that it was secretly leading a war of conquest.

It was the serpentine devil’s greatest secret!

After it accepted the call of its subordinate, a lot of information entered its mind. It told him what had happened so far, that Elliot had ruined the plan of its followers and was even going to kill a person it wanted to recruit in its army!

“Insignificant mortal, daring to go against the will of hell! Let’s see how you survive my wrath!” It was instantly enraged. What it had gone through created wounds on its body. What Elliot did was the same as pouring fine grain of Chinese salts on them. Its wounds throbbed, and its eyes squinted. It wanted to beat the crap out of Elliot before killing all the humans he loved, destroying his family and eating them before him, then eventually consuming him too. However, it didn’t want to descend on Tyler Barnes. Worming a part of its soul on a mortal meant the death of a Tyler and the destruction of his soul. It doesn’t want that to happen. After all, Tyler was a special card that he had taken a lot of effort to nurture. Not to mention, the serpentine devil liked this follower of It a lot, enough to want to recruit him into Its army.

So, it didn’t want it to die.

Now, he couldn’t attack Elliot directly.

Although there were cracks in space, it was trillions of light-years away from Elliot. The constriction of space and time made it impossible for it to lay waste to Elliot physically. Of course, it didn’t mean that it had no other way to end the life of this bold mortal. It could use its extraordinary power to destroy him! The law of space and time couldn’t stop the strength of its Hell’s paradise!

The tiny crack in the space was enough for It to transmit a hellish torment on Elliot.

[Hell’s paradise: Death Gaze!]

In the very next instant, Elliot saw that the eye behind the crack in space that was above Tyler’s head narrowed down to a thin slit and started to bleed!

Instantly, the aura of death descended on Elliot, and the ground beneath his feet started to crack. Spider web-like cracks began to form on the floor as Elliot’s feet slowly sank into the ground.

“It’s attacking me directly? How is that possible?” His eyebrows raised. He was a bit taken aback. After all, the serpentine devil itself shouldn’t be able to attack him. The crack in space was significant, according to humans. It was enough for ten to twenty humans to pass at a time. However, the serpentine devil couldn’t even put his pinky through it; that’s just how big it was in size.

Not to mention, the crack in space was unstable. Anything that goes through it will be shredded into pieces or get lost in space.

That means that even if the crack were big enough to pass through, it would die before reaching this place.

Or that even if that throws out a fireball or a mouthful of poison, it would never reach Elliot!

[The serpentine devil had launched an attack against you.]

[It had used his extraordinary power to bypass the construction of time and space.]

[The Hell’s paradise, Death Gaze, is descending upon you.]

[Champion, Brace yourself!]

No more words were needed to be said by it for Elliot to understand what was happening.

“Protect me!” A profound look flashed across his eyes, and only a single thought popped up in Eliot’s mind. He desired the creation of a shield that would help him block the incoming attack.

Immediately, a large amount of energy burst out of his body. At the same time, redness charged out of the serpentine devil’s eyes, shooting towards Elliot at the speed of sound. It took the shape of a gigantic sword, one big and sharp enough to butcher dragons as quickly as killing pigs. Though, before it could even reach Elliot, a golden wall with many characters on them appeared in reality to safeguard Elliot.

Captain Safeguard was here, folks!

Now, not even the celestial could take down Elliot!

BOMB! The thundering noise of an explosion sounded in the Eternal Snow Zone, and everything twisted into holy gold and unholy crimson.
