Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 140: The History of King of Kings

Chapter 140: The History of King of Kings

After recalling the undead creatures, he turned towards the remaining parts of the spirit tree’s body. He stared at them with the intent of knowing their worth, and after determining what is valuable and what is not, he began separating them.

After his eyes twinkled in a mystic glow, waves of golden energy burst out of his back and took the shape of a hand, each picking up valuables from the rubble.

Most parts of its body had golden liquid inside of them. Cutting off the surface would reveal it. It was like sap, honestly, but one with beneficial effects. The parts that didn’t have any were mostly useless.

One of the best parts of the spirit tree was its blood-like leaves. They had a soft texture and a thin shape, but best of all, they were precious resources as they emitted a wonderful scent and had unique properties.

The leaves could kill all pimples on a person’s face with a minute of placing it on the affected area! It could do much more, from annihilating blackheads to making a person’s skin look all sparkly.

“If I turn them into beauty products, mainly body lotion, perfume, face wash, and so on, creating a source of income wouldn’t be a pipe dream.”

He knew that to the people who loved beauty above all as well as those who wished to look their best at all times, owning his product at any cost will become their main priority because it will take care of all their insecurities and let them attain what they have always wished for, a sparkly skin, a clean face, a wonderful scent!

“Lisa would be extremely happy if I gift these leaves to her.”

Elliot set some aside for her in his bracelet. When his eyes laid on the bracelet, the image of instructor Nina popped up in his mind. She gifted this bracelet to him, and he hasn’t given her anything in return. Thus, he set some more aside for her too.

“Ten more for the head of the Love Family.” He set aside another ten leaves for the lady who helped him a while ago.

The rest, he stored them in his subspace.

He manifested his wings once again and took to the skies, this time staying below the clouds and nearer to the towering trees. His gaze swept the area below him, looking for clues about this trial, anything suspicious or out of touch with this environment. The wind brushing against his face proved to be a bit distributing as it caused him to blink his eyes multiple times, but after flying and surveying the forest for an hour or so and when he felt tired and out of stamina, the sight of a bronze statue entered his eyes.

As he had found something suspicious and was also only left with ten units of stamina, flying use up a lot of it, he swiftly descended from the sky and landed next to the statue.

Finally finding something suspicious, he made his way towards it, descending from the sky, landing next to it. By that time, he was left with only ten units of stamina. Flying consumes a lot of it, after all.

He focused his eyes on the small mountain-sized bronze statue, scrutinizing it with his eyes. It was a statue of a man riding a horse with three tails, a pair of wings, and a horn on its head.

“Isn’t this a unicorn?” The moment his eyes laid on it, that’s the first thought that popped up in his mind.

After circling it and reaching the back of it, he saw a jade tablet with a few words on it. Of course, he couldn’t understand them as they were written in the language of the spirit race, one he wasn’t familiar with.

However, when he finally used the power of his right eye while looking at the words, a small amount of information became a part of his memory. Now the words on the archaic tablet made sense to him.

To say he had understood the language of the spirit race was wrong. He could neither speak it nor write it. He was only able to understand the words on the tablet and make out what they meant to convey. It was the same as having no eyes, being unable to see what one’s love ones look like, but knowing said persons loves them. It was a matter of the heart, something along the line of spiritual.

“I am the King of Kings, one above all, the slayer of dragons and the wielder of the demon-slaying sword. I’ve never bowed my head to anyone! Although I came from lowly origins and was only a mere spirit, with my talents and wit, I outsmarted everyone I came across, surpassing everyone in my world and eventually heading into the stars.

“The world outside was in awe of my strength, and I walked unfettered with the intent to bound the endless, hoping to one day hold the universe in my palm.

“However, I was too ignorant! The terror of what lies in the universe was far beyond what I could ever imagine. My ignorance became my downfall. I fell from grace. My conquest to conquer the universe ended after a dream of a millennium. Light in the Dark, why did you have to be born in the same era as me? But then again, I don’t blame the heavens nor complain about what was fated.

“If you weren’t there, in those times, who among the stars could have stopped them?

“Although you won against me, I hold no hatred, only an endless regret.

“A thousand years of hatred as if a dream of millennia, only then did you find the joy of life.

“I, who have been indulging in it since my birth, have no right to complain about your victory.

“I say this in my last breath with my own hands pointing a blade to my neck. If there’s a life after this one, I hope to remain as a happy toad in a well if that’s what it takes to never come across you.”
