Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 128: Gaining Answers.

Chapter 128: Gaining Answers.

While standing behind its back and pointing two swords at its neck, Elliot looked at it with his right godly eye of wisdom as he wanted to confirm whether the amount of spirit energy in its body had reached zero or not. The copper statue was too insidious, and that’s what Elliot determined when fighting it. Thus, he was on guard and extra cautious.

Who knows? Maybe it was acting dead to fool him and waiting for a chance to sneak attack him!

<Spirit Energy: 0>

<The remnants of the copper statue soul has scattered>

When the information related to the copper statue popped up in his mind and told him that it has died, he finally breathed comfortably. Undoubtedly, there wasn’t a single unit of spirit energy in its body. Of course, that meant that its soul had scattered, so had its consciousness.

Now, it was merely a puppet, and it could only execute its master’s orders instead of acting willfully.

“Let’s salvage the remaining essence of life in my swords.” Elliot pulled back his swords and lowered his hands before his weapons dissolved into specks of gold, which he absorbed inside his body through the pores on his skin.

<+1000 units of the essence of life>

Elliot’s eyebrows raised in displeasure as he noticed that he lost 400 units of the essence of life because of fighting it.

It’s too bad that its powerful blow had managed to chip away at the sharp edges of his swords each time they clashed, causing the divine swords to use the essence of life to reinforce themselves so that they won’t break. Otherwise, he would have gotten the same amount of the units of the essence of life he used to create the swords from reabsorbing them.

“Sigh, I should have focused more on dodging than parrying while I was fighting it,” Elliot complained in his mind, but knowing that nothing is going to come out of crying over spilled milk, he moved on.

Right at that very moment, the statue’s head rotated to the back of its neck to look at him. Then, twin emerald rays of light shot out of its eyes, stopping several inches before Elliot’s face. The glowing light blended into one and took the form of a tv-like screen. Elliot’s curiosity piqued, and words appeared on it.

[Congratulations! You’ve managed to defeat the copper statue. You’ve not passed the trial, but you’ve crushed it. You’ve earned a high-level reward. Would you like to receive it?]

“Yes, I want to have it.”

The words on the screen changed after he said those words. [Please put your hands on the sigil in the center of my body]

Elliot could see some kind of magical symbol on the center of its chest, and believing that that’s the so-called sigil, he raised his hands and placed them on it.

[The spirit engraving process shall now start. Please don’t pull back your hands.]

After he read the words on the screen that was floating right before his eyes, warm wisps of some sort of energy came out of the sigil and went into his palms. He could feel the energy gathering in the center of his palms and congealing into some kind of shape.

[The spirit engraving process has been completed. If you channel spiritual energy into it, wings will sprout out of your back]

He raised his hands off its chest and looked at his palms in surprise and happiness and saw that there was a wing on each of his palms.

[Superpower Name: Spirit Wings

Type: Winged-Spirit race special Magic Matrix.

Description: Once activated, the challenger will gain wings, and you can use them to fly. Note that a low of practice and practical experience is required to fly without the risk of embarrassing yourself or dropping to your death.]

“The reward is pretty reasonable.”

Only those magicians who are at least in the magic grandmaster realm can fly. But now, he has also gained the ability to take himself to the skies and perform aerial battles. He just needed spiritual energy to manifest it and real-life experience to hone it.

Elliot was so satisfied with the reward that he thought that fighting the copper statue was worth it.

[As you’ve completed the wishes of the artificial soul of the copper statue and defeated it, you’ve gained its seven high-level magic matrix. Please use them wisely.]

When those words appeared on the screen, Elliot’s mouth opened wide, and his mouth gaped as the center of its chest caved in, and a tray carrying eight winged-shaped symbols came out.

Seven of them was a magic matrix, and the last one was a winged-shape energy-storing core, and he could use them to dominate the world, or so he thought.

Using hands that were trembling under fervent excitement, he picked them up in the blink of an eye. Then, he gave them a thoughtful look.

“I truly got something unbelievable.” Elliot’s eyes brightened in happiness. “Amazing!”

The names and effects of the seven magic matrices and the energy-storing core popped up in his mind. The energy storage core increased a person’s maximum energy capacity by ten thousand units, but that was only possible if they manage to survive the integration process, which starts right after a person consumes it.

On the other hand, the seven energy matrices were what one could say truly special.

<The Challenger can give special properties to a weapon by firmly affixing the magic matrices into it.> Hope’s word sounded in his mind, and he realized that he could create seven high-level artifacts by using these magic matrices.

“What if I affix them on my flesh?” Elliot said those crazy words that indeed made sense with an excited glow in his eyes. If it’s truly possible, his body itself will become incomparably powerful!

<Fusing a magic matrix on the body is an extremely painful process. According to my estimation, the champion isn’t strong enough to survive such a process> Hope replied.
