Another Stupid Isekai

938 T.D.o.N.B: The difference in power

In a blink of an eye, I appeared right in front of him, then tried to punch him in the face, but the hit never landed. It was blocked with ease. I attempted to sway the exchange to win my favor, by attacking with the other hand and then with the knee, but each of those, once again, was blocked.

The most surprising thing, though was that the shockwaves didn’t appear at all. I had no idea why.

I tried to retreat, but he just pushed me away before I could do anything. It was so strong, that I went flying almost outside of the dome before I was able to react and lock myself in a single spot.

From the very beginning, it all looked doom and gloom. The difference in strength was overwhelming. I still had tricks in my sleeves, like Ki, or ‘Indomitable’ but I was unsure if those would make enough difference.

Still, I used the energy, to lunch another attack. I tried to slow him down with my telekinetic abilities, making it harder for him to move, as I attacked more viciously than before. Again, he blocks my kicks and punches with ease.

Even when I tried to burn him with a ray of scorching energy, he blocked it too.

I was literally backhanded to my place when he slapped me in response. Flying and spinning I somehow, once again, locked myself in a single spot, preventing me from leaving the dome. I was about to try something else, as I pulled the borrower pudao from my vault, but I never got a chance to do it.

I was blasted away by a beam of energy so strong that it covered the entire world for me, and got me before I was even able to react. I quickly found myself in space, where I had to surround myself with a telekinetic bubble, and very fast use air magic to create some air for myself.

He joined me, slowly flying from under the dome with his hands crossed on his chest. The facial expression showed a mix of anger and resolve to finish this right then and there.

My body healed from the injuries rather quickly, ad in no time I was allowed to try the maneuver I thought about before. I slashed, using a ‘Hunting strike’ to reach him. He avoided that attack at first, but then it got him, cutting his skin, which immediately healed.

Pissed off by my stack, he put his hands forward, blasting me with another wave of energy. This time even more powerful.

It was burning my body, but for most just pushing me further away, towards the seemingly uninhabited planet that happened to be behind me. Imagine the speed, it pushed me with, to travel that fast.

I ended up slamming into it with such an incredible force, that everything around me was just trashed. The crater left by the impact, and the energy itself, was gargantuan. The rock turned into lava, so I quickly evacuated from there, dumping some healing energy into myself, to repair the heavily damaged body.

Thinking about how to win, I couldn’t shake off this annoying conclusion that I already lost. In a desperate attempt, I repositioned to a more suitable space with less temperature. Meanwhile, he closed the distance, but not to the point we would be too close. He stayed probably around a mile or two away.

Again, imagine the speed that guy was capable of.

Sliding on the stone, as I tried to stop, and produce the air necessary for myself to breathe properly, I started slashing the air. Using ‘Hunting strike’ to deliver the damage for me. Once again, it didn’t fail, cutting his body, which didn’t seem to mind, as he was able to instantly heal.

His revenge was devastating. I didn’t notice it at first, too focused on his position and what I was about to do, but that plan was in the making from even before my attack.

When I finally noticed, it was too late. One of the moons of the planet I found myself at, crashed right into me. Suddenly the whole world was made of breaking and raging stone. I was being taken by an incredible force I couldn’t fight with because of my incomparable weight. I locked myself into a single spot, and then the moon began breaking on me, as it was being pushed even harder.

The heat raised quickly, and the stone turned to lava, which only made things worse. This much was fine for me, but since it was only the beginning, I was able to see it spiraling toward a much worse scenario.

Using telekinesis, and a lot of force, I somehow pushed my way through it all, escaping from the point of impact. I didn’t stop at all and kept running at full speed to get the hell away from that spot, and potentially lose him.

I didn’t. He was there, watching me. Maybe it was the hope that I would change my mind witnessing that I couldn’t win, or, perhaps, it was something entirely different. An urge to play with the food before consuming it. In the end, it didn’t really matter. What mattered was that he gave me a breather.

Breather long enough that I was able to realize that desperate times need desperate measures.

Something that would be a no-go for me suddenly became an option. I decided to go beyond the 70% of ‘Shadow fusion’ once again. The pain, though, was an incredible bouncer. It pushed me away as soon as I tried.

It was paralyzing to the point that I fell on my face and started uncontrollably rolling, before once again watching my balance, and continuing the rush.

I needed a better, stronger resolve. Something strong enough to push me beyond the pain. An emotion that would allow me to do something which was seemingly impossible. So I focused, closing my eyes, and relying only on the mind to take me forward, as I concentrated on everything I cared for.
