Another Stupid Isekai

721 T.D.o.N.B: The Gathering

After going around, and inviting people, I returned home, tired, but only briefly, as I had to jump to Loistavadvaar again and get a bunch of drinks. When the fridge, the one in the bar in the basement, and the one in the kitchen, were full, I began preparing snacks, which took me a few hours.

Celestina and Tihana, were surprised as they returned home, more or less at the same time, and after going upstairs to take a shower, visited me.

– Are we hosting an army? – said Tihana, as he saw me.

Then she immediately went to snatch some food, but I kept an eye on her while still cooking.

– It looks like this – said Celestine, who stopped at the entrance.

I had to slap my daughter’s hand, because she tried to steal, which made her pout at me.

– Something along those lines – I said to them. – My friends will be visiting, and we will have a few drinks in the bar, downstairs.

– Bar downstairs? – Celestine asked, very surprised.

– You haven’t been in the basement? – Tihana asked her. – You should go, there is everything down there. Even a pool.

– A pool? – her eyes went wide.

It was a distraction, as her hands still went towards some goodies I’d been preparing.

– Leave my kitchen – I growled at her.

She showed me her tongue and then grabbed Celestine by her arm.

– Let’s go, I show you – she said to her. – Let’s leave this miser with his oh-so-precious food.

Then they left, and I was able to prepare everything properly, and even took down some of it. In the meantime, the girls not only visited most of the basement but also changed into some more suitable clothes for a party.

Tihana went with her original look. The shorts, black stockings, and a loose T-shirt which exposed her shoulder. She also wore a lot of bracelets, a black choker, and a freaking beanie.

Celestine was more classy. A black skin-tight dress, leaving her legs exposed, which with the dark fishnets on, made them look like a snack. To finish it off, she put on red lipstick.

– You’re drooling – she said when I saw her like that for the first time.

– And whose fault is that? – I complained.

We were down in the bar area, where a few tables with a bunch of chairs were placed in a medium-sized room with a long counter, with a few tall chairs put in front of it and shelves filled with alcohol behind it, hung on the wall. There was also a fridge there, and a machine for making ice.

The light was provided by a nice chandelier, fixed to the ceiling.

She was about to respond to my comment, but we heard the sound of the doorbell.

– I’ll go open – I said to her and went upstairs.

Bot her and Tihana followed me, though. I guess they were curious about who I invited.

As we arrived at the door, and I opened them I revealed Will, wearing his usual suit, and Sanders, with more casual clothing. He had a dark blue vest, exposing his muscular hands, and black, elegant pants. On his lower lip was a very thin mustache, which almost made me snort as I noticed it.

– Nice house – he said to me.

– Nice mustache – I responded, and stepped away to make space for them.

Celestine was quite shocked by the guests, and even more by those who were already appearing in the distance. Nobuo, obviously in his samurai clothing with two swords by his belt and wooden sandals. Martin with his better half, both wearing black suits. Ki’rai was in a dark dress, which made her look weird but adorable. Marcella, and Daniel in regular clothes.

– Just joking. It looks like a dying worm – I then added.

He touched his lower lip, as he was passing by me, surprised by my stingy comment. Will snorted hearing that.

– This way – said Tihana, guiding them further, since I had to greet the other guests. Those who didn’t have the chance to look at my place were scanning everything on their way to the bar in the basement.

Eventually, though, we all gathered there.

Beers and other types of drinks were given out, as everybody found a place for themselves. Which took only a short moment. I had to stay for a while behind the counter, pouring everybody what they wanted to drink, or moving the snacks. Celestine was too star-struck to help, and Tihana didn’t really give a shit about her, not really, old man. She preferred to chat with Nobuo.

– Who is going to say it? – Will whispered to me, sitting on the tall chair in front of the countered, as he leaned forward.

– I guess you should. After all, you are the boss in this city, aren’t you? – I raised my eyebrows.

He nodded in response.

– What about your girlfriend? Are you sure we can trust her with this type of information? – he kept whispering.

– Celestine is my problem. She won’t tell a soul. I trust her – I responded, finally pouring myself a glass of pale ale.

Will sighed, and jumped off his chair, grabbing the glass of whiskey from the counter. He then summoned a tiny sword, which he used as a fork or spoon, to bang on the glass.

– Friends! Family, even! – he shouted, killing all the conversations. – We didn’t gather here to have a party, sadly. We gathered her to…

– Bawk! Tam appeared at the entrance to the room, with his wings spread wide, clearly angry.

His shout interrupted Will’s monologue.

– Ba-bawk! Baaawk! – the chicken yelled.

– For fuck’s sake – I growled. – Shut up, and sit down. None of the people living here were invited because I assumed they don’t need to because they are living in that fucking house! Just sit down!

He frowned at me, making everybody laugh, as he paraded to an empty chair, and jumped on it, to then jump on the table, looking at a few feathers in the process.

– Continue – I waved at Will.

He sighed and shook his head.
