Almighty Summoner System

Chapter 88 - Close The Curtain?

Ban stored the broken Ant Mask, the Noble Moth Cloak and the Twin Baton inside the Dimensional Storage after inspecting them carefully. Aside from the Ant Mask, there's no visible damage that could be seen on his other items.

Ban also retrieved the 39 pieces of Elder Monk Tree branches from the Dimensional Storage before tying them up together with a thick vine. He was afraid that someone might see him carrying nothing whilst going to the city but still managed to complete his gathering Quest, so he chose to retrieve them early and just carry them openly until he arrived at the Adventurers Guild.

After they ate their fill, Ban and Eva immediately ran back towards the same path they used earlier. They passed checkpoints after checkpoints and it did not take long for them to arrive at the starting checkpoint, near the road that leads to Eagle City.

Fortunately, they did not encounter anything strange during their journey back so they arrived here earlier than they anticipated.

Fortunately, Ban decided to retrieve the branches earlier or else, the people around the road might really find it suspicious if he still managed to complete the Quest without carrying anything back from the Tranquil Forest.. If they knew about it, they might have even thought about robbing him or even interrogating him to obtain the secrets of how he managed to hide his belongings.

Ban decided to take a carriage this time as he was fairly tired of all the events that occurred earlier. He was not tired physically but emotionally. He was also still fearful about what happened earlier.

After twenty minutes, Ban and Eva arrived at the Eagle City by riding a carriage. He paid the driver an extra 3 Silver Coins to bring him towards the Adventurers Guild and after a few moments, he instantly arrived near the place.

He paid the driver 10 Silver Coins in total. If it was before, Ban would surely feel the pinch, but with his current savings as well as what he will gain after selling the Mad-Lust Rabbit and the Black Eye Bugs parts, he knew that 10 Silver Coins was just a small amount compared to it.

Ban no longer waited and immediately went to the Marrie's receptionist table to hand in the E-Grade Quest. Marrie was taken aback again but it wasn't as exaggerated as yesterday. After all, she guessed that Kuys might have provided him with some instructions allowing him to complete the Quest easily.

Ban handed the Quest paper along with the 39 pieces of Elder Monk Tree branches. Marrie confirmed their numbers and immediately put a 'completed' seal on the paper as she gave Ban his due rewards.

Ban happily received it before leaving the Adventurers Guild. He went back to the Kuys Bar and reported to Kuys that he already completed the Quest. He then told him that he will go and find some part-time jobs first before going to the Adventurers Market to search for something he could buy.

Kuys warned him about the scam saying that Ban should be careful and if anything bad happens to him, he should not hesitate to come back to the Kuys Bar.

Ban nodded his head but deep inside him, he could only smile wryly as he already experienced the scam Kuys was talking about. Fortunately, he managed to deal with it in an unusual way allowing him to successfully evade the scam.

Ban did what he did yesterday and tried to search for some minor jobs around the neighborhood. However, he was unlucky this time as he was not able to find any available part-time jobs. Nevertheless, he did not take it to mind as he was only using them as covers anyway.

After a few twists and turns, he finally managed to find a spot with no people so he immediately took the broken Ant Mask as well as the Noble Moth Cloak and wore them in an instant.

He went to the carriage area but did not find any trace of George so he could only settle on the other carriage drivers.

They became nervous the moment they saw him and they even made a fast rock paper scissors game to determine who would be the one to drive Ban towards his destination.

Although the Ant Mask had already broken cracks on it, it still worked perfectly well, and even its deterrent and other effects were still there.

The loser of the rock paper scissors could only swallow a mouthful of saliva in nervousness as he tried to act as calm as possible in front of Ban.

"W-where to, esteemed guest?"

"Adventurers Market!" Ban said.

The carriage driver nodded his head and immediately flicked the reign on his Summoned Monster ordering it to move forward.

However, a minute had passed and it still won't move even an inch. The carriage driver wanted to cry but no tears came out of his eyes. 'Why now?' He thought.

Seeing the predicament of the carriage driver, Ban used the System to scan the information of the carriage driver's Monster. After the System injected the knowledge directly into his brain, he instantly knew the reason why the carriage driver's Monster was acting that way.

"Do you have any sweet potatoes in you?" Ban suddenly asked the carriage driver.

The carriage driver almost jumped in fright from his voice that sounded as if it was near and at the same time far away from his ears. Recalling his question, the carriage driver immediately shook his head saying that he doesn't have any sweet potato on him.

"Wait a minute!"

However, the carriage driver then recalled that one of the carriage drivers present might have it, he immediately jumped off the carriage and went towards the other carriage driver to get a sweet potato.

"Here!"

Even though he doesn't know what it was for, the carriage driver still handed the sweet potato to Ban. With Ban's appearance, the carriage driver does not dare to oppose him, much more not follow his request.

Ban received the sweet potato and with careful movements, he peeled its skin away. He then handed it back to the carriage driver before saying, "Feed that to your Monster!"

The carriage driver was confused and just as he was about to feed it on his Monster, he heard Ban saying something.

"Don't forget to close the curtain!"
