Almighty Summoner System

Chapter 265 - Infected

Ban knew for a fact that Yakob only tried to capture him because he was the only suspicious person around. He knew that he only did that for his Young Miss, but regardless of his reasons, Ban still felt upset that Yakob did not even try to hear his explanation first before acting.

Now, things between them become sour. And now with Rila on his side, which he already confirmed was the guardian Kuys was talking about, Ban was not willing to back out any time soon.

Hearing Ban, Yakob's face froze for a moment before he released a deep sigh. He secured his two students in place like a child, as he looked at Ban with complicated feelings.

Previously, he only suspected that he had some companions hiding around them. That's why he was polite and honest with his deal with them. His monster also confirmed that there was indeed a person snooping around, his assumption was even more strengthened by learning of that.

However for the safety of his Young Miss, he did not dare to dilly dally and immediately pin the blame on Ban who was the closest to her during that time.

Seeing the current event, he could only sigh in regret. He knew that he had erred, and he was not someone who would not admit their mistake.

Judging from the action of the young miss and his two students, he knew that things were pretty dire. Although he did not know the root of the incident, due to his experiences from the past, he was able to tell right away that the three of them had the desperate desire to eat.

Well, things wouldn't be as dire if they only needed to eat, but the problem lies whether they would stop if they were already full or not.

He looked at the meat that Ciera was trying to reach and noticed that a big portion of it was already consumed, normally, Ciera would only eat half of that amount and she would already feel full. But now, she was still trying to reach towards that meat, as if she hadn't eaten anything yet.

Yakob's face looked dire as he saw his Young Miss acting like that.

He looked at Ban, his Summon, Rila and then towards his Yak that was still locked in place by the Ostrich.

He let out another deep sigh. He realized that the life of his two students and the young miss was now entirely up to the young man's decision.

No longer thinking about anything, he no longer cared about his face as he suddenly dropped to his knees and said, "Please, I beg you! I'm truly sorry for what I did earlier, but there are three lives at risk of losing. I beg you, please, If you know how to save them, please do so before things get awry."

"I don't care what you're gonna do to me later, but I beg you, please save them."

Yakob's voice was already on the verge of breaking. He was truly already pretty desperate this time around.

"Save them! I can do everything you want. Just save them, I beg you!" He said, his voice cracking, he was already on the verge of tears.

It was strange to see an old man cracking like that in front of Ban.

It was his first time seeing someone do so.

He suddenly recalled his gramps, who was old, or even older than Yakob. He recalled that time when he got abducted by those white robed people, he was also kneeling on the ground, looking miserable.

However, unlike Yakob, his gramps did not beg for anyone's life. Instead, he stood his ground against the multiple enemies surrounding him, not even them were able to crack his voice, and fearlessness. He was fearless as he shouted and told Ban to escape away.

Ban suddenly felt pity for Yakob. He knew that even though his gramps did not give up during that time, if somehow he was captured by the enemy, perhaps, his gramps would do the same what Yakob was doing right now.

However, Ban gritted his teeth. He felt pity for Yakob, but that was it. He doesn't want to always feel pity towards everyone who reminds him of his gramps. He wants to grow up and man his words.

Of course, it doesn't mean he will become cruel either.

From the start, he knew that Yakob didn't have any intention of harming him. If he wanted to, he could have used his sword, but instead, he didn't and instead just opted to capture him. If Yakob was serious, even with the Ant Mask and the Noble Moth Cloak, Ban knew that he would still be in trouble, fending him off.

From the start, he really did not want to see the three of them die. For Yakob's mistake, he just wants to have them work for him a little bit in exchange for their lives. He did not expect Yakob to react that way. He thought that he would need to ask them, but he clearly underestimated the worth of their life. For them, Yakob, a D-rank, and Multi Realm Summoner was even willing to kneel in front of him, a measly Singular Realm summoner.

Meanwhile, hearing what Ban said, even Rila was quite surprised. But at the same time, she also nods her head in approval. Even she would do the same, or even worse, if she was put on his spot.

Yakob was still kneeling on the ground, like a child, tears had already started to form around his eyes, any minute now and they would fall like rain already.

Seeing that, Ban looked towards Ciera and said, "I know what inflicted them. It's a Normal Grade X-Mortal Beast called, Scentless Hunger Worm. They are offspring of the Elite Grade X-Mortal Beast Scentless Fly."

Yakob, and Rila stared at Ban confusedly. This was the first time they heard such a Beast existing.

"According to what I know, each fly can only leave one egg behind. They bury their eggs underground and after they become a larva or the Scentless Hunger Worm, they would slowly drill their way above ground. A part of their mouth would be revealed while the rest stays hidden underground."

"These worms that had already sprung up, would wait for any creature that passed by them. If they stepped on the exact same spot, they would instantly drill their way up into the soles of the victime, infecting them in the process."

"Even though they are only X-Mortal Beast, they could still drill their way on one's sole unnoticed because they are fairly small. Even Elite Rank entities are not safe from them, of course, except for those with excellent defense.

They do this infection to borrow the energy of the host they are attached to. The Scentless Hunger Worm needs to do this to evolve into a Scentless Fly or else they would be stuck as a worm forever. "

"A common sign of someone getting infected by such worms is intense hunger and the intense desire to eat. Actually, this is not the doing of the worm, but a natural reaction of the body, no matter if they are a Monster, Animal, or a Human, everyone can feel hunger."

Hearing what he said, Yakob immediately sprung into action and dashed towards Ciera. He took off her shoes and checked her soles closely.. There, what he saw made his face looked even more pale.
