Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Chapter 1290: Think Before You Decide

Chapter 1290: Think Before You Decide

After visiting Lu Lijun, Jiang Yuyan went to Jiang Residence and it was evening by the time. Jiang Yang welcomed his sister, “So, finally president Lu is here.”

“Why are you home so early?” she asked.

He scoffed, “Early? It’s the last hour of my working hours. I am always in the hospital, you think I am a superman and you think I have a twenty-four-hour job.”

“Good to see you back as a normal human then,” she commented and sat on the couch, “Where are our parents?”

“They went to meet Grandpa Ming. should be back by now,” he said looking at the wall clock and going towards the dining table. He returned with the glass of water and handed it to his tired-looking sister. “Seems like you have been to the hospital,” he commented.

Jiang Yuyan nodded as she knew her brother must already be aware of the situation Lu Lijun was in.

Seeing his silent sister, he spoke, “I always thought of him as a tough guy. I wonder what had affected him so badly to break him like this.”

“He will be fine soon,” she said and continued to have small sips of water.

“By the way, where did you disappear from the party last night? Are you not well?” he asked.

“I was just tired,” she replied, without batting an eye.

Jiang Yang stared at his sister for a while who did not look at him even once and asked “Tired of?”

“Can’t I be tired now without any reason?” she countered, a little annoyance evident in her voice.

“When did I say no. You can be tired and rest when you want. What I am saying is, don’t feel so tired that this brain of yours might push you in the wrong way.”

Jiang Yuyan looked at him, “What do you mean?”

Before Jiang Yang could answer, the bell rang, “Seems like they are back,” Jiang Yang went to open the door. Looking at his parents to let them inside, he spoke, “You two know the password of the door lock but always prefer to ring the bell.”

“Because it feels good to see my son standing in front of me the moment I return home,” Mo Ruolan replied and saw her daughter sitting on the couch, “Now even better to see my daughter as well.”

Jiang Yuyan smiled seeing her parents.

“When did you come?” Jiang Peizhi asked.

“Just a while ago,” she replied.

Jiang Parents accompanied their daughter as Mo Ruolan asked, “Let me make one thing clear. You are staying with us for a few days and at least tonight you are not allowed to go.”

Jiang Yang sighed and looked at his mother, “You have asked what she had done without you asking her.”

Jiang Yuyan gave her brother a displeased look and looked at her mother, “I am staying here.”

Mo Ruolan gave a happy approving nod, “Good.”

Jiang Yang looked at her as he could only sigh at what his sister was doing, “You should go get fresh.”

Jiang Yuyan nodded and left.

In the evening, Lu Lijun finally woke up. His head was still hurting and he felt weak. With his blurred and heavy vision, he looked around in the room where Lu Feng was sitting on the couch in the room and was working on his laptop.

Just then Lu Han entered the room with the coffee mugs and handed one to Lu Feng, “Have it.”

Lu Feng accepted it and noticed Lu Lijun was awake. “You finally awake, Lu Lijun?”

Lu Lijun didn’t know what to say and turned his head facing the ceiling and closed his eyes. He didn’t know what to say to his brothers.

Lu Han went to Lu Lijun, “How are you feeling, Lu Lijun?” his voice was calm and full of worry.

“I am fine,” Lu Lijun replied as he looked at his brother.

“Good, I will call the doctor to check on you,” Lu Han informed.

Lu Feng did not go to Lu Lijun and waited for him to get hold of his own situation. The doctor arrived and checked Lu Lijun.

“Make sure to let it happen again, Mr. Lu,” the doctor said. “Your body can’t handle it and it can turn dangerous for you.”

Lu Lijun didn’t reply to the doctor as he only closed his eyes while Lu Feng spoke, “I will make sure he won’t do it again.”

“I hope so,” the doctor said, “We can discharge him tomorrow. Just let him rest for a few more days.”

Lu Feng agreed and the doctor left. Lu Lijun didn’t talk to anyone and preferred to sleep.

——-

During the dinner, Mo Ruolan asked after a casual family chat, “Yuyan, your father and I think you and Alex look good together.”

Jiang Yuyan suddenly stopped eating after hearing it. This is what she was here for but now she heard her mother talking about it, she felt like suddenly something had choked her throat and food could not pass through it.

Jiang Yang waited to see her reaction and he could clearly see through her.

With much effort she swallowed the food and nodded, accepting what her mother said, “Hmm!”

Mo Ruolan felt happy seeing the positive reaction from her daughter, “How about we take things further. I mean of course if you are ready.”

Jiang Yuyan nodded again while not even once looking at her mother, “Hmm!”

Mo Ruolan looked at her husband as both could not believe their daughter was agreeing to it so easily.

“Are you fine, Yuyan?” Jiang Peizhi asked.

Jiang Yuyan looked at her father, “I am fine. Both of you can decide whatever you feel is right for me.”

Jiang Peizhi nodded, “Then we will talk to the Choi family.”

“Hmm!” Jiang Yuyan replied and resumed eating.

Jiang Yang didn’t feel it was right, “Yuyan….”

“I know our parents will decide the right thing for me,” she interrupted her brother and stood up, “I am done. I want to rest,” Jiang Yuyan left before anyone could talk more and affect her decision that she had taken with much effort.

Just as his sister left, Jiang Yang turned to his parents, “I hope both of you won’t do anything in hurry.”

“I was happy that she agreed but I am not sure if we should proceed with things faster. In my heart I am feeling something is not right,” Mo Ruolan said.

“Both of you are thinking too much,” Jiang Peizhi commented, “It’s just that she agreed so easily which was unexpected. But it was not sudden either. She has met him and must have thought about it thoroughly.”

“But father….”

“Do you think she agreed to it blindly?  If she is ready, we should not back down now,” Jiang Peizhi interrupted his son.

After dinner, Jiang Yang went to his sister’s room. There was no reply from inside even after knocking on the door. He finally opened the door and found the room completely dark. As his sight adjusted to the darkness, he could see the inside of the room in the dim light coming through the glass window. He saw Jiang Yuyan sleeping on the bed completely covered in a blanket.

“Are you sleeping, Yuyan?”

There was no response from her. Jiang Yang went to the bed and sat at the edge, not hoping to get any reply from his sister. “I hope you know what you are doing. Before making any decision, just think about it clearly. Whatever you decide, I will always be on your side. Just do the right thing that will make you happy.”

Jiang Yang left the room while Jiang Yuyan finally opened her eyes and stared at the window of her room blankly.
