"I'm going to sleep on the couch!" Ellena grabbed a pillow from the bed, then walked over to the white sofa that was near the bedroom window.

Lucas didn't say anything. He immediately rushed to the bathroom. I don't know what he was doing in there. Five minutes later, Lucas was back, just as Ellena was curled up on the couch, facing the back of the couch.

There was no blanket covering her body, although the AC on made her feel cold.

Lucas looked at Ellena from the bathroom door. He then grabbed the AC remote which was lying on the nightstand. He pointed the remote at the air conditioner that was right above his bedroom window. He seemed to regulate by slightly lowering his temperature.

After finishing with his activities, Lucas immediately lay down on the bed. He didn't want to care too much about Ellena's attitude. In fact, even though Ellena prefers to sleep on the sofa.

Lucas was just about to pull the covers off, but suddenly there was another knock on the door followed by Veronica's voice. For a moment Lucas and Ellena managed to be surprised.

Ellena turned around, looking at Lucas. But not with Lucas.

"Lucas, please open the door for a second!" asked the mother from outside the room.

Again, Lucas squeaked in annoyance. "What else is Mommy really going to do? Just interrupt!" Lucas hurriedly got out of bed and immediately opened the door. In fact, he didn't care about Ellena who was still lying on the sofa.

"What's wrong, Mom?" Lucas asked, after he opened the door to the room.

In front of the room, Veronica looked who brought a glass of dark yellow drink. I don't know what drink it was, Lucas didn't know either.

Instead of answering her son, Veronica's gaze penetrated into the room. Instantly he was surprised when she saw Ellena.

"Elle, did you sleep on the couch?" Veronica rounded her eyes at Ellena probingly.

Ellena jumped up, then lifted herself up to a sitting position. She looked to the right and left, as if she had just realized that she was on the sofa which would certainly make her mother-in-law suspicious.

"Hah?" Ellena was flabbergasted unable to answer. What can he say, while the mother-in-law saw directly him who was lying on the sofa. So, what reason can help het this time? She really felt confused.

'Ah, dammit! Stupid woman! Why didn't she move from that place?' Lucas cursed in his mind. He looked at Ellena sarcastically.

Lucas had just opened his mouth to respond to his mother's question, suddenly his mother had already barged into the room. In fact, it didn't even matter to Lucas who was slightly nudged for blocking his path.

Veronica walked closer and closer to Ellena, just to make sure what she saw was true. Finally, a black pillow that lay on the sofa, right behind Ellena, made her even more sure that Ellena did intend to sleep on the sofa.

"Lucas, why did you let your wife sleep on the couch, huh?" Veronica looked back at Lucas furiously. 'How can a newlywed couple sleep apart like that,' she thought.

"Th-that's—ah, I asked her to sleep in the bed with me, but Ellena refused just because ..." Lucas paused as he thought of an excuse.

"For what, Lucas?" Veronica looked impatient waiting for Lucas' explanation.

"Because of that cockroach, Mom!" Lucas exclaimed casually, snapping his thumb and forefinger, as if he was happy that he could come up with a good idea for his mom's question. However, he still looks very nervous about his mother.

Actually, Lucas could have let his mom know the truth about his play with Ellena. Wouldn't that make it easier for them to quickly separate? However, that was not what he expected. Lucas had promised to divorce Ellena, but he didn't want to go that fast. Because, it would be too early, if they were in a hurry to get a divorce at the age of their marriage which was only a few days old.

Bad possibilities might interfere with his life, if that happens. Yes, of course. Of course there will be a lot of media people who will investigate it to its roots and Lucas doesn't want any of that to happen in his life.

"Is that so, Elle?" Veronica looked back at Ellena questioningly.

Ellena immediately got off the sofa, then stood in front of her mother-in-law.

"That's right, Mommy. I'm really afraid of cockroaches. Because the cockroach was on the bed, so I didn't dare sleep there," Ellena explained, replying Lucas' lie. She didn't think that the presence of her two in-laws in the house would make her fall into a lie that Lucas' made.

"Are the cockroaches still in this room?" asked Veronic to be sure.

"No, Mom!" Lucas and Ellena answered at the same time. As soon as they looked at each other, it suddenly caught Veronica's attention.

Veronica seemed to be smiling. He was so happy to see his son and daughter-in-law look so united.

"The cockroaches are gone, Mom," Lucas explained later.

"Okay. That means, you can sleep in the same bed with your husband, right?" Veronica looked at Ellena expectantly. However, Elena was silent. She was confused about what to answer.

"How about it, Elle?" Veronica asked again.

Veronica smiled faintly, before she finally said and handed her the glass she was carrying. "Mommy's only here to deliver this for you. You drink it!"

"What's this, Mom?" Ellena looked puzzled at the glass filled with a very unappetizing color.

"This is a potion for fertility. Mommy made this for you on purpose, so that you and Lucas will have a baby soon." Hearing Veronica's answer made Ellena rounded, then blinked her eyes perfectly. Meanwhile, Lucas seemed to cough reflexively when he heard his mother's statement.

'What? Fertility potions?' Ellena whispered to herself.

Ellena was stunned for a moment. She still hesitated to accept the potion glass from Veronica's hands.

"Come on, Elle... drink this!" Veronica brought the glass closer to her face.

Reluctantly and hesitantly, Ellena grabbed the glass from Veronica's hand. She was just about to drink it, but the distinctive smell of the drink was very strong. She felt like throwing up when she smelled it.

"It does smell a bit and it's bitter, but mommy beg you to drink it just this once." Veronica begged Ellena to drink the potion.

Holding her breath a little, Ellena drank the potion. Meanwhile, Lucas seemed to be watching her with a slightly horrified look at the action. Ellena doesn't know what the drink was, it just reached her throat, but she wanted to vomit it all up. However, because she couldn't do much, Ellena just obeyed, even though her stomach felt very nauseous.

"Yes, Mommy." Ellena handed back the glass as if to prove to Veronica that she had done what her mother-in-law wanted.

"Okay. Mommy's so happy.. Now sleep over there with Lucas."
