The Wife of Hades

Chapter 52 - I'll Pay You

Finally, he sighed and said, "100 thousand."

At once, everyone inside the room gasped when they heard the enormous number. 100 thousand?! Out of everyone, only Mo Han still had a calm expression on his face although he did slightly furrow his eyebrows together.

After finally recovering from the shock, An Luxia shook her head, "No way. At most 50,000. Take it or leave it."

Li Qiyu shook his head as well and grinned slightly, continuing to sit on the floor, "100 thousand. Or else we aren't leaving."

They finally found a way to get in contact with their daughter, and after this, who knew when the next time would be when they got the chance to get money from her again? Of course they had to get as much as they could out of her!

Qi Lanyu's face turned slightly red from anger as she wondered how it was possible for such shameless people to be on this planet, "You - We shouldn't even give you any money! Get out now!"

Li Qiyu continued to sit on the ground like a homeless man, not caring about how the An family was viewing him at the moment. He Muya also didn't seem to care about her husband's behavior, and she continued to sit on the couch with a straight back, obviously not planning to leave as well.

Li Yilan still had her fox eyes on Mo Han and didn't seem to be listening to anything that was happening right now, although a hint of impatience did mix with the jealousy in her expression.

"You can't make us leave," Li Qiyu said shamelessly, crossing his arms together.

An Luxia narrowed her eyes and pulled out her phone, but before she could even dial in the number, Li Qiyu spoke up:

"Sure, go ahead and call the police. We will just come back later. If we don't get the money, don't even think about not seeing me again, you ungrateful brat!"

An Luxia's fingers froze as she realized that calling the police may solve the problem temporarily, but they could very well come back. Should she bring it to court then?

But she did not want to waste the time or effort on people like them!

The room fell into silence as everyone had their own thoughts running through their minds, each with a different motive they wanted to achieve.

Just as An Ping was about to speak up and tell An Luxia that she didn't have to worry, and they could find a way to get the money for her, another voice beat him to it.

"I'll pay you."

At once, everyone's heads whipped around upon hearing the voice and even An Luxia's mouth fell open in shock, "Mo Han, what are you talking about?!"

Mo Han put his hand over hers as a movement to tell her to trust him, and he looked straight into Li Qiyu's eyes, "I'll give you the money."

Li Qiyu raised one eyebrow, obviously not really believing him, "You? As who?"

"As Luxia's husband of course."

An Luxia gently pushed Mo Han's arm, "What are you talking about?! You aren't actually giving him the money, are you?"

Mo Han shrugged, "I am."

--- 30 minutes later

The three people finally left after receiving the signed check from Mo Han, all of them with smiles on their faces except Li Yilan, whose expression was even worse than before they got the money.

As they left, Li Yilan glared at An Luxia, transferring her jealousy and anger towards her sister that she had never met for all these years.

Especially after seeing her "brother-in-law" so easily give out such a large sum of money, of course that only increased Li Yilan's jealousy and the sour feeling already growing in her heart.

Maybe if she had been the one given away, then she would be the one with such a handsome and rich husband!

Why?! An Luxia stole all of this away from her!

Li Qiyu smiled with a sparkle in his eyes as he stretched his empty hand out, attempting to shake Mo Han's hand.

Mo Han glared at him, "Don't make me see you again."

Then, he slammed the door in their faces. Li Qiyu fell back a few steps from the sudden gust of wind, and he grabbed onto the check tightly as if it was his life.

He knit his eyebrows together with a frown before aggressively spitting onto the door, "Disgusting people!"

Then, the three of them turned around and left.

After they unwelcomed guests had finally left, the original 5 people returned to the living room.

An Luxia's eyes were slightly red but still, no tears fell out. She did not know why her eyes were even red!

"Why did you give them the money?" She asked when Mo Han came back, still confused on why he did that. She also did not want to have any relation to them anymore, but 100 thousand was not a small sum. . . to her. Maybe not to Mo Han.

Mo Han sat back down next to An Luxia with pain in his eyes as he grabbed onto her hands, "I only gave them the money because they decided to. . . throw you away, which was why I was able to meet you. If they hadn't brought you here and taken you to the adoption center, maybe we would have never met. That is their only worth."

An Luxia thought for a few seconds, thinking that what Mo Han said was actually quite right and logical. . .

Maybe it was a blessing in disguise. After this meeting, she was certain that her life wouldn't be half as good as it was now if they hadn't thrown her away.

She couldn't imagine growing up in a family like that with parents like that.

And, she was able to meet Mo Han, which possibly is the luckiest and best thing that has happened to her in the 23 years she was on this planet.

"So you gave them 100 thousand?" She raised one eyebrow, lifting her hand up and pinching Mo Han hard on the back of his hand.

Mo Han clenched his teeth together from the pain, but he still nodded, "Yes."

An Luxia was still very grateful and emotional about Mo Han's "excuse", but of course she couldn't show that with all these people around!

Instead, she angrily slapped him on the shoulder, "You gave away a year's worth of my food money!"
