The Urban Dao Child.

Yang Dao and Dao Yin were fighting with the old man, the steward with nothing held back. All the laws and all the comprehension were laced in their attacks. The couple had comprehended the meaning of the void as well.

Yet they were not losing themselves to the void and overwhelmed the old man. Feng Yun and the rest of the familiars were getting more and more worried. The longer the two fought the greater the risks.

Atsuji Kurogame said, “They are keeping things together by casting using the two things simultaneously, the rules and laws of Dao to restrain the power of the void they are emitting. They have yet to reach complete unity, so I do not know for how long will they be able to keep this up.”

Ryu Jinshi nodded and said, “They will have to use the purer destruction and creation laws to defeat this old man. If only we could step in.”

Laohu Bai nodded from the side and said, “I swear these two are making me so worried that I am about to lose my shit and cry in the corner.”

The white tiger had broken down from the stress and anticipation. Feng Yun cast a gaze at the white-haired lady and said, “You need to calm down. Or you will affect their moods as well.”

Then Zen walked up behind Laohu Bai and smacked her neck with a chop. The white tiger fainted and the other three were surprised. Zen shrugged and said, “This is the best way to calm down.”

Yang Dao and Dao Yin were communicating with each other as they fought with the enemy.

“Yin, use destruction I will use the laws of reaction to balance the impact.”, said the young man.

Dao Yin said, “Fine, after two strikes we switch.”

Yang Dao nodded. The laws they used, affected their mindset, so the two decided to use them in turn. The laws of creation and destruction were among the most volatile laws of the Dao. The reason was that once someone started to meddle with destruction, if they lost control, then they will seek nothing but destruction.

These laws were akin to a trigger to falling on the path of the void. If a practitioner losses control of the laws, they will fall into the path of the void. Just like how Feng Yun said, Dao gives birth to Void and Void gives birth to the Dao.

Dao Yin stepped up and blinked, her aura turned cold and desolate, and the enemy in front shivered when he sensed her gaze. She did not think much and slashed the sword at the guy in front of her.

The slash seemed to be very ordinary, however, the destruction it caused was not a simple attack on the steward, but even the space itself was being destroyed. Yang Dao waved his hands and cast the law of creation behind the old man to mend the space.

Once the space was destroyed the void will open. The old man will get stronger if exposed to the void. They could not have that, Dao Yin did not wait for the old man to heal the gash on his chest when he slashed the sword for the second time.

The old man tried to dodge it but the space around him was locked. It was Yang Dao who prevented his movements. The space was once again distorted, but Yang Dao controlled it in time. He stepped forward and said, “Yin, let me come.”

Dao Yin retreated, and Yang Dao moved forward, his sword turned into a bow, and he fired a grey arrow, stabbing right in the chest of the old man. The person wailed, he tried to pull out the arrow, but the arrow instead of coming out started to dissolve inside his body.

The power of laws began to eat away the man from the inside. Dao Yin could tell that the power of this attack was twice that of hers. She cast the laws of creation to make sure that the laws of destruction did not poke a hole in space.

Yang Dao said, “You should go back to the source you came from now.”

The old man’s body was being corroded, he did not know what to do to stop this. His movements were locked and so was his skill to open the portal to the void. Just as his body was being corroded, he was about to give up hope he heard an indifferent voice echoing in the space.

“Could not hold them for a little longer.”

Yang Dao and Dao Yin both knew to whom this voice belonged. They did not see the person yet, but they could tell, it was like an instinct for them, to face their counterpart. The old man shivered and said, “My lord, please forgive me. I tried my best.”

The indifferent voice said, “There is no such thing as try, either you lift the glass, or either you do not lift it. I will have to consume you for my nourishment.”

As soon as those words dropped the old man wailed, his body twisted and turned, and within a few moments, it turned into a pill. Yang Dao came to stand beside Dao Yin, and they both saw a hole appear in the space. A man came out of the hole, this man wore a grey hanfu. His face was blank, yes, it did not have any features, just an outline, complexion as pale as milk.

He looked like a puppet. He curled his finger and the pill flew over. He did not even have a mouth, but as soon as the pill dropped into his palm, it melted and vanished. The indifferent voice sounded again, “I apologize for letting you see such absurdity.”

Yang Dao shook his head and said, “We are glad that the void envoy finally decided to show up.”

The puppet nodded and said, “I am glad that you are glad, now shall we get down to it. I am hungry.”

Dao Yin nodded and said, “I suppose, not matter how much you eat, it will not make any difference to you. Right?”

“The devourer, Void.”, said the indifferent voice.

After a pause, it continued, “Indeed, it is true that no matter how much I eat, it is never enough, maybe the universe can sate my hunger.”

Yang Dao shook his head and said, “It will not. You can trust me on that, however, we can sate your hunger.”

The void envoy asked, “How can you do that?”

“By tearing your body and letting you merge back with the void, and then you will feel hungry.”, explained Dao Yin.

The void envoy said, “I will appreciate that, but only if you can tear me apart.”

That said the three people moved.

Atsuji Kurogame frowned and so did the others. Laohu Bai was still unconscious but her eyelids were flickering. The girl was dreaming f what was happening.

The black turtle said, “It will be hard.”

The others nodded.

Yang Dao and Dao Yin nodded and they moved forward, however, they had decided to do something. When they got close to the Void, the two people positioned themselves at his sides, and then holds his hands.

The battle paused, and the Dao Couple said, “If it is about tearing you apart, then it is easy.”

They spoke in unison, their words and breathing were in sync.

Atsuji Kurogame said, “They achieved Unity?”

The others were also shocked, they did not expect the two children to have achieved unity with each other, and that too so unexpectedly. What they were looking forward to was how the two will deal with the guy.

The void entity asked, “What do you mean?”

Yang Dao smiled and said, “We are the Yin and Yang, we are the great dao, but without a little piece of the void, the great dao inside us will not be in balance. So, thank you for showing up.”

Dao Yin smiled and said, “Thank you.”

The void envoy did not understand anything, he just felt a strong suction in his arms. The suction was coming from the point where the two people held him. It was as if they were trying to absorb him.

He struggled but the strength of the laws was imposed on him. The void entity said in the same indifferent voice, “What do you think, you will achieve by this? If you were as powerful as you are, then you would not have to leave behind anything. You people lack what it takes to digest the void.

Not everyone is suited to have the void inside them until they have been to the void and really looked into the abyss.”

Yang Dao smiled and said, “We have done all that.”

“In our past lives.”, said Dao Yin.

“Did they just say, past life?” asked Ryu Jinshi.

Zen nodded and Feng Yun said, “Did they inherit something from their predecessors?”
