The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 38 - More Than Being Hostage!

With the passage of time, it was already evening when Javier finished all the work. No, the ship wasn't in their direction. It was a relief to know that they were safe now.

Ellen and Ryan used all their contacts to make sure that the call won't be traced anymore, removing all its presence.

The sun was setting. The rays of sunshine were falling inside the large room, where Javier was sitting on his desk. Completing all the work, his back was aching a bit but at the same time, his eyes fell on his apple watch.

'It is so late… Jennifer must be afraid already.' He already knew that she hasn't eaten anything since morning. But sending her down to the safe room was an emergency to safeguard her.

Picking up the phone in his hands, he took the keys from the nearby shelf and made his way down the villa.

It started getting dark in the passage, due to the absence of natural light and Javier knew that delay might cause her to get furious and hungry.

Sliding the keys in the locker, he started opening it but at the same time, his hands were sweating. He has no idea how she is going to react to his ways of dealing with work and locking her inside an empty room. Maybe, she will just react normally or just slap him?!

'Keep faith Javier.. it was important.' With this thought, he tried to convince his inner demon, and finally, the door of the room opened.

Inside, there was darkness. As the sun was down as well, there was literally nothing to see anymore, and there he switched on the torch of his phone. With the help of that, he stepped inside the place only to find nothing… But wait!

"JENNIFER!"

His eyes caught the frail figure on the ground who was unconscious. Her face was already pale and her lips lost all their color. The distressed look on her face wasn't much clear to him yet he never missed it.

His body stiffed at her sight. For a few seconds, he was frozen in deep shock because his mind wasn't able to proceed with what came into his view. Javier's lungs weren't taking a breath as if they were on strike.

"Jennifer…." When his mind just understood the whole critical situation, his instincts made him react immediately and instantly. Walking closer to her, he bent on his knees. Keeping her face in his lap, he tried to massage her cold hands which turned more chilly.

The temperature in the basement room was much colder than what he had earlier imagined. Moreover, her look was threatening with her face as pale as marble which not only sent a continuous alert to his heart but to understand that he made a grave mistake.

"Jen.. please open your eyes dear.. See, I'm ready here. Jennifer, please don't screw me like this… Jen.." his earlier lazy and furious voice was now totally replaced with tender and worriedness.

He can't explain the amount of pressure over his shoulders that he felt on seeing her. He received no answer from her side even after a fraction of seconds yet he never lost hope.

"Jen.." he paused because his instincts told him that this is something that needs medical attention. "ELLEN!!! COME HERE! RYAN!" Javier yelled at the top of his lungs to call out his other men who seemed to come just in another few seconds.

"Yes sir?" Ellen entered the pitch darkroom to find his sir was holding a lady in his arms. The lady was no one else but Ms. Taylor herself!

"Call the doctor immediately…" he gave them the order and immediately picked Jennifer in his arms. Her body weighed more due to her unconsiousness. But that never mattered to him because his gaze was only lingering over her face which seemed to lose all the beautiful colors.

Javier took her in his arms and brought her to the upper villa and brought her to her designated room. Ryan followed him behind and helped him to open the door when Javier automatically made her lay on the soft mattress.

Sitting by her side, he took her hands into his and rubbed them softly to create the warmness. "Jennifer.. please open your eyes." At the same time, he took her slippers and covered her frail and chilly body with a thick blanket.

Ellen came from behind and seeing the worriedness on his sir's face, he was quite hesitant to approach. Anyways, gathering the courage he spoke in a professional way, "Sir, we will call someone from outside for a medical emergency. That means.. there will be high degree risk inv-"

"Do as I said. Call The doctor from nearby islands immediately. Take the chopper with you and… come back with a doctor with you, that's all." Javier replied with coldness to Ellen. His eyes were all over Jennifer, whose eyes were shut and it was making his heart pound to the next level.

There was no way, he was unable to take off his eyes from her face which was constantly making his body tremble due to the fear

"But sir, that will make our plan a failure. If someone catches our location we will be in the same position as that in the morning. Maybe Ms. Taylor just caught.. flu or is feverish.. we-" Ryan tried to negotiate and change his sir's mind but failed miserably.

Javier's gaze was intense when he faced them. This made both of them shut their mounts and lower their respective faces in fear of anger.

"Nothing matters more than her safety and health. Remember this, she is more than being a hostage for me, in my life! Stop babbling and call a doctor immediately for now!"
