The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 29 - Can't Get Enough

"What I meant was how are we going to go on the top of this huge rock or mountain.. whatever it is." She was annoyed by the fact that it was most likely impossible to get up there without being harmed.

She can' see any route which will lead them to the top. Nothing was much riskier than falling from the heights or... if you slipped.

But Javier looked entirely calm in comparison to her. "No worries. There is a route from the back of the rock."

"Is it trusted? Are you sure that we will not slip and be killed? See, I don't have any wish to see the rock from the top at the risk of my own life." How can take such a huge risk when her dear life was at cost!

Moreover, her trust in him was still limited. She doesn't know if it would be alright for her to listen to his words for now or not.

Javier simply passed her a look: Belief or not is totally up to you. His gaze was intense which made her not only get absorbed in his eyes but also to be mixed with him.

Somehow, Jennifer's instincts told her that this man was super dangerous. She averted her gaze back to the rock before she found herself staring at his gazing eyes.

"Alright. Let's go up if you say…'' she was ready to follow his lead when he asked Ellen to bring the boat to the back of the huge rock.

Ellen immediately returned the boat in another direction and brought them behind when she witnessed that they looked like a trail or a hiking trip to do.

There was the entrance of this wide and huge rock when Javier jumped out of the boat and stepped on the rock. At the same time, he turned around and asked Jennifer to come as well.

"At least give me your hand.." Jennifer shouted and at her reminder, Javier extended his hand to her where she lifted her dress a little bit and took his extended hand into hers.

Holding it tightly, she kept her first leg on the boat's corner and other at the rock where she finally stabilized.

'Uf… this was…' she never sat in any motorboat. Stepping on a mountain like a huge rock is another thing that was far in her life, yet present in her bucket list.

"We shall go. It would be fun going above now." Javier spoke and then they both started making their way to the top.

Javier led the direction and she simply followed like an obedient child but on the way, her eyes looked here and there to find any source. In her eyes, she knew it was impossible but what if she finds the ray of hope when she climbs above?

It will at least give her an idea of where she exactly is. To know if there was any other island nearby to call help from or just if it is distant from the rest of the world, but keeping her expectations at bay was the best solution to avoid any heartbreak.

With time, they both climbed in silence. Javier helped to remove all the bushes, and she was really glad that he did.

Moreover, it looked like he kept in mind that she is still afraid of that creepy crawlies.

"Jennifer, I know you must have not done anything similar to this but.. do you find it interesting?" Javier suddenly asked.

"Well…" she was reminded of her university days. Back then, she did many adventures.. but this was of another kind. But exposing everything was not a good idea. "Yes. It is a new experience to gain and worth it. Being in nature is beautiful and seeing those scenic views… that is always breathtaking to see."

Her reply seemed to bring joy to his face. They kept on moving and on the way he didn't utter one single word to her which was already surprising.

At the same time, Jennifer also stopped herself from starting any conversation. Her mind was already too much occupied to witness the view from above that nothing came into her mind anymore

After a walk and a little bit of thirty minutes, they finally arrived at the top where both people were out of breath.

With their uneven breath, sweat dripping out of their faces, and cheeks red due to the exhaustion, it was evident that it wasn't easy to reach there.

"So, you can now see the view already." He suddenly said and just then Jennifer flipped her eyes.

What came in her view was something unspeakable. They were all high, and water down the place. At the top peak, the sun was somewhat hidden but the energy all over made it look extremely beautiful and enhancing. It was simply breathtaking to witness and some cold breeze flowing made her hair flips continuously in the air.

"Do you like it?" Javier asked when he noted how much she was totally absorbed in enhancing the entire view through her eyes. While her eyes never tore from the oceanic view, his eyes never averted from her glowing face.

No matter how much he tries, how long he keeps on staring, his heart can never get enough out of her. Was it any kind of magic done on him?

Remembering the first time he saw her was still fresh in his memory. "It is...amazing... I never imagined that we will find so much peace after coming on the top." Jennifer replied.

"Oh...right!" he got out of the daze after hearing her soft voice and pointed at the down view, "Do you see that water? It is too fresh. You can see your face just from here."

"Yeah. I mean, how amazing it is... this place is away from industrial areas so no pollution and the water is too fresh. Just...too amazing to witness. Thank you so much!" Jennifer's teeth were showing in her bright smile which was reaching towards her eyes.

Her crystal eyes skipped Javier's heartbeat. He gulped his saliva and extended his hand, "Give me your hand for once.."

Jennifer was confused. She looked at him with her questionable gaze but he simply insisted. So, in the end, she kept her hand into his when he said in a husky voice.

"I don't know if you ever witnessed or had many adventures but I thought..why not have it.." she wasn't able to comprehend his words properly in her mind but before he took the action.

"JAVIERRRR!!!!"
