The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 48 - Jealous

The moment her dinner ended, Leena sped out of the house without even looking back at the people deliberately trying to tease her from the time she had come to dinner hand in hand with a certain idiot. Since she had not eaten anything from the evening, Leena was so famished to the extent of her hunger turned her into a completely different person and she even let him hold her hand.

On top of their teasing, Devin settled in a seat next to her even though the dining table was large enough with vacant seats everywhere. Throughout the dinner, he was continuously refilling her soup bowl which she had taken alike to it despite everyone's whispers and giggles. While Leena knew, they were talking about them, she tried to hint him kicking his leg but that hunk was not even budging and even acted innocently asking why she has kicked him many times further embarrassing her in front of them. He is as sly as a fox. Let him come to the room. I will show him what hell feels like.

"God! How should I face aunt Daisy and uncle Mark? Even the new aunty Katherine was looking at both of us as if we had something going on between us." Talking to herself, Leena pulled her hair in embarrassment. She only wished uncle Mark would not take this matter to Francy when she knew both were good friends and business partners.

Leena wondered how did the whole Lewis family know about that hunk. Everyone in the house treated him as if he is a part of their family. She had been friends with Leah for four years but never had seen him once and even Austin seems to know him.

Speaking of that stupid, Leena was relieved that he was not there for the dinner at least today. She would be teased endlessly if he had witnessed the show.

Austin along with Trent went out to get his wounds checked by the doctor. Although they were barely visible, since his wedding was only ten days away, he didn't want to look worn out with those wounds.

"That devil has hit me deliberately intended to ruin my face even after she knew it is my wedding." Muttering annoyingly he parked his car in the garage.

Half hoping with Trent's support, he was walking and cursing at Leena but his footsteps paused seeing the shadow sitting on a bench. He ran and hid behind the nearby tree when he sensed the silhouette sitting and talking to herself on the bench was none other than that Leena devil.

"What's wrong Austin? Why are you hiding?" He inquired looking at the running Austin and Trent sensed he was only looking at a particular direction without even speaking to him. He soon followed his gaze and was again mesmerized by that bewitching beauty again.

"She is here," Austin whispered. He would get beaten by her again if he goes near her.

"It was your fault, to begin with. Why did you have to paint her face?" Trent asked not pulling his gaze away from her.

"It's because you don't know about her. Let's leave before she sees us." He suggested.

"Can you leave us alone for some time. I want to talk with her personally." He asked. Trent had been trying to speak with her since the moment he arrived but she would always escape away from him somehow or the other.

"You are already smitten by her. Are you going to ask her out?" With a grin, Austin teased him. Although he is not close to him, they were considered good friends. After Leah worked with Trent in a movie, he became a good friend and he is very kind and friendly, so she wanted to pair him with Leena.

"Man! She is damn beautiful. Just leave us alone for some time already." Running a hand through his hair, he smirked looking at the woman. Leaving Austin there for himself to deal with his pains, he strolled towards her.

"Hey pretty. What a coincidence. Even I wanted to have a walk-in the cool weather just like you." He smiled and sat next to her on the bench.

"How is that a coincidence when you were following me since morning." Saying that Leena moved to the edge of the bench.

"You seem to be scared of me?" He chuckled looking at the woman trying to move away from him. Is she playing hard to get?

"I can't risk certain stalkers following me." She snapped. He had been following her since morning and it was annoying her already.

"Well, You have a very sharp tongue. Don't worry. I am not a stalker. I am just smitten by you. By the way, I am Trent. Trent Scott."

"I am Jurassic, Jurassic Park." Smitten by me. Funny fellow. If not to face those people in the house, she would have already gone inside, the moment she saw him.

"You don't need to use other names. I already know your real name. Are you single?" He already knew she is single when Austin and Leah have already informed him about her status, so he wanted to use this opportunity to get into the conversation and ask her out at the perfect time.

"How many of you do you see me if not single?"

"Your humor is on another level, Leena, and I even like the name Jurassic." He said.

"I know." Leena ignored his remarks and added. "But, wish I could say the same about you."

"You don't like my name?" He asked with bewilderment. His name was the most popular among boys and it famed even more after his raising popularity and this woman said it's not even good.

"Nope." She directly said it on his face.

"Care to tell which name you like then?" He asked again with a smirk.

"May be Lord Voldemort." Pondering for some time, Leena blurted out those names which were constantly running in her memory.

Trent wide opened his mouth wondering who would keep these kinds of names. She really is a crazy woman to like those weird names. His interest was piquing more and more talking with this woman.

"I really like your sense of humor. Honestly, even though it's only a day, I am getting attracted to you. So, wanna go on ice cream or coffee date with me?"

"Maybe I would have considered the offer if you were cute." She smiled at him mischievously.

"Aww...That's a harsh blow to my handsome looks. But I will make sure you yourself would ask for a date before this wedding." He challenged her. Many women would be dying to have an autograph with him much less date him and she dared to reject his proposal. Within five days, he will get a yes for the date.

"That's funny. I didn't know it" She scoffed and added. "FYI, I am too expensive for you."

She was shivering with the cool weather even though it was considered spring. With the ample trees surrounding the mansion, her body was quivering and she wished to get wrapped in her blanket immediately. With the thought, she was about to get up when a jacket was draped over her from behind. A sense of warmth spread over her body suddenly and Leena immediately turned back in surprise when she sensed a familiar scent entered into her nose. She looked up to see him gazing at her with a smile, pulling her closer with the jacket lapels he had put on her. She doesn't know why she was relieved that he has come looking for her.

"What are you doing sitting under the cold weather," Pulling her towards him, he zipped up the jacket till her neck so that the cool breeze doesn't hit inside her. Initially, Devin walked back into their room not to tease her further when Leena rushed out of the house after dinner with an embarrassing face. But he felt something was amiss when she has not turned up even after an hour. Worriedly, he grabbed his jacket and went out looking for her, but his anger raised when he saw a pig was pestering his darling again. His eyes darkened with the way he was looking at her. Devin cleared their distance with his long legs when she was shivering with fleeting cold but did not even move. Idiot. Can't she at least gets inside? She is freezing over there.

"It's all because of you, idiot. You embarrassed me in front of everyone." Now that she remembered the dinner encounter, she wanted to beat him once for all.

"Didn't you also embarrass me in the washroom?" He whispered into her ear so that only both could hear. Devin did not even look at the other person staring at them. Trent was looking at them in confusion and frown with the way they were behaving so closely.

"Do you want me to throw you out of the room today itself?" That shut him up completely.

"Go and have some warm water, else you will have a sore throat tomorrow." Patting her head, he gently chided for not caring about her health.

"Ok. Aren't you coming?" She obeyed him instantly which was a surprise to Devin. Leena wanted to get rid of Trent from the time he was sitting next to her. Besides, she needed some warm water after sitting in the cool weather for a long time. So, she immediately obeyed him.

"Why? Are you missing me already?" He teased her earning a sharp glare from her before she went away.

"You both seem quite close." Trent voiced out once Leena has entered into the house. He knew about this man, in fact, the world itself knows him. After all, who doesn't know the mighty Wang Devin? His fame is nowhere in reach.

"Close or not, that's none of your business." Devin was about to walk but paused when he heard him talking about Leena.

"I like her. Looks like you are a strong competitor Mr.Wang." He smirked at him.

"You are not even in a race to start with." With that, Devin walked away. Although he doesn't need to feel jealous, still it was bothering him when someone else is also liking his sweetheart.. Looks like I have to change my plans.
