After hearing what she said, he told her, "Ji Yanli and Wang Haixiao are my friends from high school. They are reliable. It would've been great if you could meet them but I think it's not possible for now." He answered as he didn't understand the hidden meaning of the last sentence she told earlier. 

Luo Lixi also didn't say anything about that. Sometimes, it's good to be ignorant.

Sheng Ruming asked her as his voice sounded much more gentle from earlier. "Are you sure that she can be trusted? Do you know her family background or other things like that sort?" 

He relaxed slightly after hearing that Pipi was a woman and thus asked her the questions he was bothered about the most. He didn't want her to have any contact with them but he couldn't bring himself to say it aloud as she would definitely think he was a terrible person if he did. 

"Her family background?" She thought as she replied, "She is from a wealthy family like me and has a great personality. Our families have had many business dealings with each other for many years. I think...she can be trusted. What do you think?" She asked him as she began to swing her legs unconsciously. 

Sheng Ruming glanced at her face as he decided to speak out his inner thoughts. "You trust her. In your opinion, she has a great personality. Lixi, you also trusted Luo Lixiang, didn't you?" 

He didn't hold back as he stared at her. "Of course, people will always believe in their family but..." He paused as he frowned. Luo Lixi's legs stopped swinging as her face was turning ashen when he said those things so blatantly.

Sheng Ruming noticed it as he decided to bring the conversation to its original track and changed the topic. "Her family has business dealings with your company. So, naturally, she will keep a good relationship with you. It's not like I'm questioning her character but do you think you can trust her?" He asked her as he looked at her facial expression. He took her tiny hairs from her forehead and put them behind her ear.

Luo Lixi's personality is quite naive. Also, her family is very wealthy and influential. It was a blessing for her that she didn't need to worry about many matters in her life. But being a part of that status is also a curse for her as she doesn't know if a person approached her for any good or bad reason. She also couldn't know if the friend she trusts sees her as a friend or not. 

When Kong Pipi wanted to become her friend, she hesitated a little at first but didn't reject her outright. Afterwards, they met at many parties and social gatherings coincidentally. 

After interacting with her many times on many occasions, she decided to be her friend. She liked her bold and straightforward personality. 

But after hearing him putting the matter like that she was unsure if she should call her. She was betrayed by her most beloved brother while Kong Pipi is just a friend. 

So now, she became unsure whether to trust her or not. "If you're not 100% sure then there is no need to call her. We can't take such a risk at a time like this. Moreover, You'll meet her in future anyway. I'll send some people to bring news about your grandfather, how is that?" Sheng Ruming told her when he saw her dilemma.

"Okay." She nodded her head as her mood became cheerful. "Won't you go to the company today?" She asked as she remembered that it should be almost time for him to go to the company.

"No. My works have all finished. I'll keep you company for the next two days." 

"Then, it's good." She stared at him as she hooked her arms around his neck and drew him closer to her body. "You didn't let me go outside of the villa area. I'm very unhappy about this matter. Now that you are free, why don't you take me outside and let's go-to travel and sightsee?" 

She asked as her voice was full of expectation. "I heard from the maids that this place is very suitable for vacation. I want to go to the forest area. Shall we go now?" She asked him in a very optimistic voice.

Sheng Ruming's heart rate shot up when he saw her face from so closely. He hugged her back as he told her. "Not today. I'm a little tired. Let's go tomorrow. I'll take you to walk in the forest and show you the farmlands of the local people, okay?"

"Mmm, it's okay." She answered happily as she rubbed her forehead on his chest. "It's a promise then." She lifted her head from his chest and gazed eye to eye with him.

"Yes, a promise." He said as he smiled and rubbed her hair. She yawned as she leaned on him and said, "If you're tired, then let's rest for a while. I'm also feeling sleepy." She said while  she laid down on the sofa and adjusted her body in a comfortable position on the L-shaped white leather. She closed her eyes and in a few seconds, she fell asleep. 

Sheng Ruming turned to look at her sleeping face. He knew it was bad to sleep with a full stomach but looking at her face, he decided to let her sleep for now. 

"Young master, should I make your breakfast now? What will you like to eat today?" A maid who was in charge of cooking just came. When she saw him, she decided to ask him before making breakfast. But Sheng Ruming turned towards her and signalled her to go away. Only when he moved, she saw the sleeping woman in his lap. The maid nodded as she went away. 

Luo Lixi slept quite well and Sheng Ruming  smiled in satisfaction. After a while, he felt a little tired and closed his eyes. Before he knew it, he had fallen asleep as well. So, the couple slept for a long time in the hall room. 

When Xiao Huang came to talk with him about some matters, he saw this scene; their CEO sleeping with a woman on the sofa, while they both hugged each other intimately. He stood there; motionless for a few seconds before he went to them and placed a file on the tea table beside the sofa. Afterwards, he walked away.
