Ten Years of Yearning. My Love, Let Me Protect You.

"Boss, boss." He spoke out softly. Sheng Ruming opened his eyes. When he saw the villa he knew they had finally arrived. He got down from the car and walked into the villa. The other bodyguard drove the car away. Xiao Huang went to the surveillance room with the other man.

After arriving in his room, he changed out of his business suit and put on a much lighter set of clothes. After sleeping in his car, he didn't feel sleepy anymore as before so he went downstairs and entered the kitchen to make breakfast for Luo Lixi.

In the past month, he learnt where the specific ingredients were located. So it didn't take a  long time for him to start making food.

At 6 am. The sun started to rise in the eastern sky.

Luo Lixi's sleep was interrupted as the alarm clock rang out loudly. She reached out her right hand from under the bedsheet to stop the clock but failed. She tried again but her attempt was futile as this time the clock directly fell to the floor and started to ring crazily.

"Ahhh! This damn clock!" She woke up abruptly as she cursed out loud. Her hair was messy as well as her nightgown. She sat up and came out from the duvet and picked the damn clock angrily. She stopped it as she shot it an agonizing stare. As usual, she was forced to wake up in the early morning though, in the past, she was used to it.

After two minutes, an middle-aged woman entered her room. She was the nurse who took care of her in those months. Also, after her hand was healed, she accompanied Luo Lixi to the Ailin hospital for a full body checkup per instructions. Many bodyguards followed her secretly.

At that time, Xiao Peilan took that opportunity to talk to her and requested her to remind Sheng Ruming about his request. When she heard he was the doctor who supervised her condition when she was in the coma, she thanked him sincerely and assured him that she would convey his request to him. 

Though she knew there was a reason for Sheng Ruming to ignore him, she decided to fill his tiny request as it was not a big deal for her. So, Ji Yanli had to complete the task which she had thrown outside of her mind a few days ago.

"Miss, time to wake up." The nurse said as she went to the bedside table. She opened a box and took out a bunch of medicines from it. She handed Luo Lixi those tablets as well as a glass of warm water. She gulped down those bitter tablets as she hurriedly drank the glass full of water. It was her daily routine to start the day with those bitter medicines. 

In the early days, she had the intention to throw those super bitter medicines and she did as she thought; threw them outside of her window but she was unlucky as she was caught in a CCTV camera. 

Afterwards, Sheng Ruming was unhappy by her act as he came to her and found her in the big hall, watching TV. He walked to her without saying anything and fed her those medicines in a very romantic way; mouth to mouth in front of all the household people. He didn't let her go until late she gulped down those bitter medicines. She was so embarrassed back then that she wanted to die. After that day, she didn't dare to throw them ever again.

Luo Lixi changed out from her nightgown and wore a simple navy blue dress. She cleaned herself in the bathroom and brushed her hair into a single ponytail. After she dressed up completely, she went downstairs.

She didn't meet Sheng Ruming for three consecutive days because he couldn't come to villa due to the urgency to finish work in time. So, when she heard sounds coming from the kitchen, she thought it should be some maids. She went to the sofa and sat down as she turned on the news channel. It was a habit of her past.

After thirty minutes, a familiar smell started to  drift in the air. When she realised it, she abruptly turned her head and looked to the kitchen's direction. She thought something as she looked at a maid working at a side. The maid looked up to her when she felt a gaze on her back. 

Luo Lixi pointed at the kitchen as she mouthed something. The maid nodded her head as she already knew what she wanted to know.

After confirming her deduction, Luo Lixi stood up slowly and walked to the kitchen. She slowly entered the room without making a single sound.

Sheng Ruming was boiling some meat dumplings while making the soup base for those. He was so concentrated in his work that he didn't notice the one who just stood behind him.

A pair of jade white hands embraced him from behind as a sweet, melodious voice rang beside his ears.

"Good morning, Ruming." Luo Lixi told him happily as she looked at his side face.

Sheng Ruming smiled as he replied to her. "Good morning to you too." He said as he rubbed her soft hands in front of him with his left hand. She continued to embrace him from behind as she spoke up, "Why didn't you come to meet me when you returned from the company?"

"I only came here three hours ago. You were sleeping then so I decided to meet you with your favourite breakfast in the morning but here you are; standing beside me and embracing me." He said as he took out the boiling dumplings from the pan with a strainer and placed them in the bowl with the soup base he made earlier. Luo Lixi just stood there and waited for him to finish.

After nearly five minutes, he was done and placed the plate at a side. Then, he swiftly undid her hands as he turned around to face her. He wrapped her hands around his neck while his head leaned down to kiss her hungrily. She tiptoed her legs as he hugged her with much force and deepened the kiss. 

On top of that, Luo Lixi didn't hesitate like the past and faced his kiss with an even greater force.
