Spirit Cultivation

Chapter 13 - Liu Xuefeng's Talent

Ahh…

After a deep breath, Xuefeng gulped down the whole bottle of Spirit Awakening Liquid. His tongue burned as if he just drank a whole glass of strong alcohol but he somehow swallowed. A warm current went down his throat, stomach, and finally reached his dantian.

He closed his eyes and focused his mind, targeting the warm stream flowing inside his body. His father really believed in him, putting a lot of resources into this day. The huge amount of Spirit Awakening Liquid he consumed caused him to shine with a light blue hue. It was the excess Spirit Essence that escaped his body.

In no time, the Spirit Essence gathered around the Spirit inside Xuefeng's dantian.

Nothing unusual happened.

The Spirit began absorbing madly and formed into a new shape. It was just a shiny round ball at the start, but it soon turned into the shape of a human and then into the exact copy of Xuefeng. The Spirit would always take the shape of the host.

'It feels so good…' Xuefeng thought, never experiencing a similar kind of pleasure.

When the Spirit formed fully, Xuefeng could sense it, as if he was both the Spirit and the body at the same time.

'So much Spirit Essence is leaking… It's not good.'

Xuefeng couldn't help but test something, not satisfied with the efficiency, and used his will to hurry the Spirit. Surprisingly, it listened to him. Spirit Essence just didn't stand a chance, sucked inside the Spirit as if it was a bottomless pit. When it was full, it spat out a red-colored Spirit Qi. The process repeated and after a while, the white hue around his body started changing into a red hue.

Xuefeng opened his eyes and looked at his hands. He couldn't stop his heart from skipping a beat as he knew very well what the color meant.

'Fuck… I don't want to have an ordinary red talent. I can't accept it! Absorb more and change color! Absorb more and change color!' He repeated desperately in his mind.

While he was focused on fighting his fate, the people around the hall began to whisper with each other. They could clearly see the red hue around Xuefeng. It could only mean one thing: Liu Clan Young master had an ordinary Red Spirit Talent.

A wide smile appeared on the Emperor's face. Everyone knew it was the outcome he wanted to see the most.

"You bought so much of Spirit Awakening Liquid, but it was still wasted in the hands of your son," the Emperor bantered but Liu Xiaobei didn't say anything, patiently watching his son's struggle.

Xuefeng was still sitting cross-legged and repeated the chant while squinting his eyes. His Spirit didn't stop refining Spirit Essence, but all it spat out was Red Spirit Qi.

'Am I going to spend the rest of my life as an average man? Fate, are you that against me?' Xuefeng lamented in his mind.

Due to loss of focus, he didn't even realize that his Spirit shone brightly with golden light as he said the word 'fate'. Instead of a red Spirit Qi, it became light green instead.

Xuefeng already gave up on himself when he heard a commotion from the hall. He opened his eyes unconsciously and to his surprise, he spotted a light green hue covering his body.

He couldn't be more ecstatic.

'Yes! It's working!' He exclaimed in his mind. 'Absorb more, more! Light Green Talent is not enough!'

"What?!"

Seeing the change in color, the Emperor stood up abruptly. He wasn't the only one. The whole hall stood up to have a better look at the situation.

Everyone was surprised, but it was still within their scope of understanding. With the help of Spirit Awakening Liquid, one could increase their talent by one. Red Talent must have been his original one and Light Green the improved one.

Who would have thought that in the next minute, they witnessed another change, which made their speculations go all wrong?

Xuefeng's Light Green Spirit Talent increased once again! Now, his body was covered in a dark green glow.

Zhen Ping, who was happy at Xuefeng's misfortune, looked at him with his mouth wide open. Even Zhen Shan wasn't indifferent to the weird situation and stared with interest.

"Liu Xiaobei, did you do something to your son in secret to make fun of us later? Why is his talent increasing? Did you use a Talent Suppressing Artefact?" the Emperor asked irritated but Liu Xiaobei only smirked confidently.

"No, of course not. How could I do something like this? I'm also surprised something like that is happening," he denied, but his smile was telling otherwise. He then ignored the guests and touched his lips with two fingers.

Instantly, as if he gave some kind of secret message, the Shadow Guards from all around the hall disappeared from their original position and reappeared around Xuefeng on the stage. This time, they had Spirit Weapons in their hands and were on full alert.

During their conversation, Sky Blue light started enveloping his body, displaying his newest talent to everyone.

Inside of Xuefeng mind, he was laughing, pushing for more with all his might. His Spirit began absorbing with unprecedented speed as if the Spirit Essence in his dantian wasn't enough.

'No! The liquid reserve is going to end soon. I only improved my talent into Sky Blue, I can definitely increase it more!'

The Spirit Essence from Spirit Awakening Liquid was soon insufficient, causing Xuefeng to consume the liquid directly but that still wasn't enough, the liquid quickly vanishing.

'Think! Where can I get more Spirit Essence?! If I stop the refining process, I might never have a chance to improve my talent ever again!' Xuefeng brainstormed. 'Father definitely gave all of his Spirit Awakening Liquid to me. He has nothing left. Think, think!'

Just as the liquid in his stomach was about to dry up, he thought of an idea.

'Air! There is a boundless Spirit Essence in the air! How could I forget about that?' He mocked himself. 'Spirit! Absorb Spirit Essence from the air. Absorb from the air!'

Seeing that the sky-blue shell around Xuefeng's body thin out and disappear, the Emperor seemed to sigh in relief.

It was already bad for him if Liu Clan had one high ranked talent. If they suddenly gained the second that would be a disaster. Only his daughter had Purple Talent in the capital. With it, she had a chance to reach Spirit Overlord stage in the future, and it was enough to rule a country or even a kingdom. If she was lucky enough, she could even reach the Spirit Emperor Stage.

Everyone was sighing, wanting to see another miracle.

"Huh? Is that wind?"
