Spirit Cultivation

Chapter 12 - Sneaky Clan Leader

Only moments later did Liu Mei's parents came back to their senses and rushed towards their daughter with their smiles wide. They were only a pair of normal Spirit Masters with average talents so it was definitely a shock. Her father was a Spirit Stone Mine Guard while the mother was a shopkeeper in one of the Liu Clan's shops.

On the day of their daughter's ceremony, they could take a day off to take part in it. Who would have thought that their child would create such a miracle? They both had Red Talent, and at most, they could reach a Spirit Grandmaster Stage in their lives. How did their daughter awaken a Purple talent that everyone dreamed of?!

"Mommy! Daddy! Did you see me?!"

When they arrived at the side of the stage, Liu Mei noticed them and dashed happily without thinking much. She cried out with joy as she hugged their necks while they crouched down to match her height.

Her mother checked her daughter from head to toe as if to verify if she was her own daughter.

"Yes, you were incredible! I'm so proud of you!" her mother confirmed as she left tens of kisses on Liu Mei's head.

Tears of joy dropped from Liu Mei's father's eyes as he hugged his family. It was indeed a blessing. Thanks to their daughter, they were able to break through to the Spirit Grandmaster stage just like many others in the room.

At that moment, Liu Xiaobei walked up, causing the pair to stand on attention.

"Clan Leader," they greeted respectfully, bowing down.

"Good day," Liu Xiaobei replied with a smile. "Are you perhaps the parents of this young talent?"

"Yes, we are honored to," the father nodded happily as he wiped away his tears.

"Perfect. I got informed about your statuses a moment ago," Liu Xiaobei began as he turned towards Liu Mei's father. "You don't need to work as a guard in the Spirit Stone Mine anymore. You can work in the Clan and stay close to your family. What do you think about that?"

"Yes! Thank you, Clan Leader," the father exclaimed as he clasped his hands together.

Liu Xiaobei smiled and turned to Liu Mei's mother.

"You should be one of our shopkeepers, right? How about I make you a manager of the store you are working for, allowing you to receive part of the shop's monthly revenue?"

Liu Mei's mother swiftly covered her mouth, almost choking from the surprise.

"Hah, I will take that as a yes," Liu Xiaobei chuckled, glancing at the young lady who jumped happily in front of them. Seeing her parents happy, she celebrated with them.

"My wife is currently free without any disciple. How about I recommend your daughter to be taught by my wife?" Liu Xiaobei dropped a bomb that they did not expect.

"As long as Mei Mei wants it, we don't have any objections," Liu Mei's father replied after a quick glance at his wife.

"Perfect. Liu Mei, do you want to train together with your big brother in the future?" Liu Xiaobei asked sneakily as he pointed at Xuefeng nearby. They were close so Xuefeng heard everything they said.

"Can I? I want to!" Liu Mei answered without hesitation.

"Then it's settled. We will talk about the details after the ceremony," Liu Xiaobei nodded satisfied before beckoning at his son. "Xuefeng, follow me. Before the ceremony continues, I want to introduce you to some guests."

Xuefeng looked at the guests sitting by the main table and sighed, preparing his mind for the worst. He never liked politics.

"You finally brought your son for us to see," the Lu Clan's Leader commented as he saw them coming.

"Hello Elders, I'm Liu Xuefeng, nice to meet you all," Xuefeng greeted politely, causing the many leaders to nod in approval.

"No need to be polite; we are all friends here," the Lu Clan's Leader laughed.

Every beauty sitting at the table got visually tense when Xuefeng came over. He wasn't ten years old to not understand what their purpose was when they pushed their chests forward and kept winking at him.

The purple-haired beauty only gazed at him from under her veil before she turned her head away as if he wasn't worthy. Xuefeng didn't mind that at all, only laughing in his mind.

'I wonder how they would behave if I got a high-tier talent.'

Liu Xiaobei introduced everyone to Xuefeng one by one until only the Emperor was left. In this world's custom, one should generally introduce the most important guest at the end. It was done like that because most people would remember the last person mentioned.

"And this is our Aurora Country's current Emperor," Liu Xiaobei presented.

When Xuefeng was reading books about this world, he stumbled across a book about local customs. He decided to read it as it might have come in handy in the future, and he was right. He knew the traditions were different from what he learned on Earth.

For example, when Clan Leaders were greeting the Emperor, they didn't need to bow to him or kneel. If only they are in the same stage as an Emperor, they could greet him normally. The strength dictated the rules.

"Your Majesty," Xuefeng said as he bowed slightly.

As Xuefeng was as weak as a mosquito, he had to bow his head and clasp his hands as a greeting. But he was from the Liu Clan, after all, so he only bowed slightly. He was smart enough to understand that his father was demonstrating his strength at this event. He couldn't disappoint him.

Emperor nodded indifferently in response.

"Feng'er, are you hungry? You can eat something before the ceremony continues," his mother Mu Lan offered.

She was entertaining the clan leaders when Liu Xiaobei went to take care of the situation. He couldn't even reject it as she already started putting the food on the plate.

"No, mother, I'm okay. Let's eat and talk when the ceremony ends," he denied her and turned towards his father. "Is everything ready? I'm already tired of waiting. I waited sixteen years for this moment."

His father smiled as he gave him a pat. He looked at the closest Shadow Guard, and seeing him nod, he turned towards the guests.

"The ceremony will proceed."

On the way back, Liu Xiaobei whispered into Xuefeng's ear, "If you can create another heavenly phenomenon, you can have any beauty from the main table."

Saying that he gave him a bottle of Spirit Awakening Liquid and stood by the side.

'Please, I'm not even over Tianshi, and you want me to choose another girl already,' Xuefeng sighed in his mind.

Going up the stage, he sat down in a random place. Seeing that he already had a bottle of Spirit Awakening Liquid, the servants didn't come to give him a drop.

"Don't be nervous. Just follow the instructions from earlier, and you will be good. You can't change the fate anyway," Elder Ming advised.

He already calmed down from the breakthrough, but the smile didn't leave his face.

'Can't change fate, huh… Let's see how Fate changed with my arrival."

Xuefeng opened the bottle and looked inside to check the content. To his surprise, it wasn't just a single drop. He knew his father bought more drops for him, but he didn't expect that he got a whole bottle.

'I guess it's time to prove everyone wrong.'
