........

Arvin never believed in either of the three things. He had always been unlucky. Although he never did anything that could be considered as bad karma, still he never received or felt any phenomena that rewarded him with good karma that he had done. As for destiny, he believed that this was mumbo-jumbo made up by the people who were high on some weed. And according to the internet, he might actually be right.

Throughout his life, he never felt lucky. Not even once. He used to read articles and quotes saying that you are very lucky to be alive and all that sh*t. Whenever he would come across such quotes or articles, he would raise his middle finger to those types of written material. After all, what is worth such a life where you have to think twice before buying a simple burger from a restaurant. Because according to his financial situation that was considered a luxury.

He had a feeling that maybe when he came into this world he would have left his bad luck behind. After all the potion that he got from that Lopt guy, helped him a lot. He was very happy about it. But who knew, that his luck will only get worse as time passes…

'Yo! You weird voice in my head. Do you have a name?'

[Negative.]

'So from today onwards let me give a name… From today onwards you will be known as Dobby

[Dobby?]

'Yeah. It is the name of one of the characters from one of my favorites books of all time. So, do you like it?'

[I will never confirm nor deny your statement.]

'…'

[….]

'Anyway…. Now tell me what will I need to gain powers?'

[What do you mean?]

'You know. You told me that I am not strong enough to handle the powers given to me. So how could I get strong?'

[That option is not available for the host.]

'Why?'

[That option could only be opened when the host activates the Mischief System.]

'The first price? Wait…. When will this system get activated?'

[Counting down….26, 280… 26, 279] the weird voice displayed this message in front of Arvin

'Cool…. Wait… Why is the timer stuck at 26,279?'

[It is not stuck, host.]

'What are you talking about? I can see clearly that it is stuck.'

[Timer is not stuck, host.]

'But why is it not moving forward?'

[It is moving forward. It is just that this timer is displaying time in hours. That is why moving slowly]

'Oh… I get it… Wait… What the in the name of ACTUAL F**K are you telling me?'

[….]

'Are you seriously telling me that I have to wait for 26, 279 hours for my powers to activate?'

[Yes.]

'Wait… 26, 279 divided by 24… and 1 year has 365 days… That is F**king 3 years? What the f**k am I supposed to do for 3 years?'

[…]

'Answer me dammit!'

[That is up to the host to decide.]

'….'

[….]

'So during these whole 3 years, I will be a normal human being?'

[Negative. Due to the potion, the potential of your body has been increased. Right now your potential lies between that of an earthling and a being from Yggdrasil 1st floor.]

'Is that supposed to help me? And what you mean by potential?'

[Host does not have enough level to gain that information.]

'…'

Arvin's mood that on the above clouds came crashing down as his talk with Dobby got over. Now without any powers, he felt dejected. He wanted to go back in time and wanted to convince the past Arvin to choose the 1st reward. But nothing could be done about the past. It could not be changed, no matter what he did. He felt betrayed. He felt that that Lopt guy had played a prank on him.

But little did he know his unlucky streak has now started…

......….

Arvin was walking aimlessly in the web of alleys. He wanted to get out of the web of alleys and wanted to go to the main road. From there he would go out of the city to a different city. As Alman had told him that this world has 7 cities. He wasn't sure that he would in a different city. But it was better than staying in the city which was the business hub of Alman. Thinking like this he was making his way through the alleys.

When he entered the allies in the day, he hardly saw one or two-person in the alleys. But now, in the nighttime, alleys were swarming with people. He wanted to ask someone for directions, but everyone was avoiding him like he was some kind of plague. Arvin then thought back and believed that the smell from that black gooey stuff was the one to thank for this situation.

Seeing how every pedestrian was avoiding him, Arvin thought that it would be a better idea to have a bath before setting off anywhere. But as he was walking aimlessly, an armored man like that he saw on the gates of this city appeared before him. Arvin that he should avoid him at any cost, but as he was slowly walking past the soldier, the soldier shoved his spear in the path of Arvin, making him stop.

"Where the hell do you think you are going?" That soldier asked.

"Did I do something wrong?" Arvin asked innocently.

"We, the city watch, have got a report that tells us an unidentified man is circling the whole Y_block over and over again. Suspect description, he smells like he has taken a bath in fierce bird's poop." The soldier said with a smile

"…" Arvin then didn't say anything further.

"You have to come with me young man, do you comply?"

"Yes," Arvin said dejectedly.

That soldier then tied a rope to Arvin's arms and then started walking forward, while Arvin kept following him from the back. While they were walking, Arvin kept looking around himself, seeking any chance that he could get to get rid of this soldier, and ran off. He didn't know much about the world, and he didn't want to get mixed up with the authorities of the world right now.

He had a strong feeling that nobody will be able to recognize him now, as the burn mark covered the almost full right side of his face. And now that it was healed there was a very little chance that one would be able to recognize him.

That soldier then dragged Arvin for around 30 minutes or so. At that time, he dragged him through some alleys, and then he finally came to the main road. The main road of the city was bustling with people. It was a very noisy road full of beautiful women, different kinds of shops, and most important of all food. When Arvin smelled the delicious food that was being served in small stalls, his stomach started making noises because of hunger. It was then he realized that he had not eaten anything this day.

But no matter how bustling the road was, when people saw a soldier, making his way through the crowd, everyone gave them space. Arvin didn't know whether it was because of his smell or the authority of city watch?

Still, after 30 minutes, the soldier and Arvin came to a big mansion-style building. There was a huge iron gate at the entrance of the building. Above the gate, in an arc, some weird symbols were written on a wooden plank. Arvin was amazed by the fact that he had learned a foreign language as he came to this world. But when he saw that plank, he was more impressed. He could not only speak but also read this foreign language.

CITY WATCH

Arvin straightly recognized that on the wooden plank, the City Watch was written. He then realized that maybe the City Watch must be some sort of police of this world. That could explain the soldier taking him here. But as they got in through the gate, instead of taking Arvin to the building, the soldiers took him to a shabby building just behind the magnificent building of the night's watch. I mean City Watch.

That shabby was still huge, but it was very small when compared to the main building. In front of the shabby building, few soldiers were hanging out while smoking what looked like life to this world's cigarettes.

"What the hell took you so long?" one of the soldiers shouted as he saw them coming.

"Oh, I was looking for fresh meat." The soldier that was dragging Arvin shouted back.

Soon both of them came close to the group of the soldier. But strangely the group of soldiers huddled around Arvin and started inspecting him from top to bottom. As they were inspecting him, Arvin had a bad premonition that maybe he was in some kind of danger.

"Doesn't look like much. But well it is better than nothing." One of the soldiers said, then he smacks on the head of Arvin with force. That smack made Arvin lose his consciousness…
