Solo Player Arvin

Chapter 17 - -16<Fist Fight>

"Are you ready boy?" Josh asked if he was stretching his arms and his legs.

"I was born ready," Arvin said.

For the last two months, Josh has been training Arvin in hand-to-hand combat and soldiers tactics. He taught him about the basics of survival in the wilderness. He taught him about the various weapons and how to counter them. Josh finds it odd that Arvin insisted on cutting one whole per day, but he didn't mind it. After all, it was good for work as well as it will be good for Arvin if he is adamant about using the ax as his weapon.

Josh had to admit he had never seen a hard worker like Lopt (Arvin). Daily he wakes up early and trains like hell. He never rests and never takes any breaks whatsoever since his training has officially started. And day by day he had increased the intensity of his training day by day. And from his stamina recovery rate, Josh had to admit that he is a monster. If he didn't know that well Josh would have straight away believed that he was an earthling.

.......

It was about to go dark. Everyone in the Bonie village was either eating dinner or were going to sleep. While in Josh's house, the dinner was getting cold, but both Josh and Lopt and his partner could not be seen anywhere.

At the backside of their home, they both were standing opposite each other. They were standing 8 feet apart from each other and were facing each other. Both of them had hands up and were making fists from their hands. They were about to fight. For the past 2 months, Josh has trained and taught Arvin every basic thing that he could have taught. Now that all was left was practical fighting…

Both of them bare-chested. Both of them were eyeing each other. And soon both of them lunged at each other.

Both of them sprinted towards each other. Arvin applied the same technique that he used while fighting in the arena, Dodge until your opponent has lost his stamina. And after that start attacking like there will be no tomorrow.

Josh was the first one to attack. He swung his right fist towards, while Arvin simply dodged the incoming fist by taking a step back. As soon as Arvin steps back Josh sends his left fist accelerating towards Arvin. Due to the ferocity and speed of Josh, although Arvin was able to dodge his left punch, he barely dodged it.

Josh's left punch came very close to Arvin's face but still, he was able to dodge it. But to defeat a veteran like Josh, Arvin had to do a lot more than dodging. Josh realized the strategy Arvin was using, he changed his fighting style. Instead of using his arms, he started using his legs.

As soon as Arvin dodged the left swing, a strong right kick came from Josh instantly. While Arvin foresaw the kick, due to his reaction speed being slower than Josh, he was not able to dodge the kick very well. Though he used his arms to soften the blow, the chiseled muscle in Josh's body performed their miracle, and Arvin was sent flying back.

Arvin fell on his back while his arms were still shivering from the previous blow. But Arvin was among the people who would just back down just because of that blow. But although it did teach him a lesson that muscles do help in actual combat.

On his back, lying on the ground Arvin decided that he would at least hit one blow on Josh. With that resolve like a martial artist, he got up on his feet with a wave. He then once more took a fighting stance.

Josh smirked as he looked towards Arvin. And then they both lunged at each other again. Like the last bout, Josh attacked first. He swung his right fist towards Arvin. Josh was thinking that as the last time Arvin would still use the stall and attack fighting style.

But on the other hand, Arvin was thinking another thing.

'This is a practice match… So that means I can experiment on my fighting style anyhow I want.' He thought.

So this time instead of stalling and dodging, Arvin thought that he would try to use dodge and attack style. With a plan about how to handle Josh in his mind, Arvin lunged towards Josh.

When Josh's right-hand swing came towards Arvin, he dodged the attack by ducking down. As Arvin ducked down he sent his right fist towards Josh's liver. He wanted to attack his liver, but Josh soon realized that Arvin had changed his fighting style. So as a veteran fighter, he used both of his legs to fall backward.

According to Josh, falling backward was the best option that he had. Because although Lopt, according to him, was a fighting noob, he could not forget that he was HTC. That alone tells him that he was way much stronger than him. It is just that he didn't have a lot of practice in fighting. So taking his liver blow straight on was just plain suicide.

Arvin had thought many scenarios in his mind about what would happen as he would send a liver blow to Josh. He thought that most probably he would try to absorb the blow. There was a low chance that he would analyze his intent about liver blow and try to use his legs somehow to dodge his blow. But the falling back on his back was not the scenario that Arvin had thought of.

But still, Josh was not left unharmed. Although falling backward helped him to avoid a liver blow, Arvin's fist was already at his body. So instead of Josh's liver, Arvin's hand slammed into Josh's stomach. Due to Arvin's blow, Josh's body deviated from its original trajectory and fell sideways.

But as a veteran fighter, as soon as Josh fell sideways he used his hands to perform a cartwheel and stand up straight…

"That hurt you know," Josh said while massaging his stomach.

"Try not to get hurt, old man," Arvin replied with a smile on his face.

Then they both lunged at each other again…

...........................…..

In the Kalgan forest, a young man around 12 years old was standing in front of a deer that was shot down by an arrow. That young man had a skinny body and was very small. He had brown hair coupled with brown eyes. He has puffy and red cheeks. He was a cute little boy. His name is Harry Cullen and he is the young master of the Cullen family's Second Son.

Harry came to Kalgan forest with mercenaries for the hunt. He wanted to brag with Nobel friends about the game that he caught in the forest. Although he didn't play any major role in the hunt, his friends didn't need to know that.

Two of his mercenaries that he brought with him, had caught a deer. Now as the night had fallen, the mercenaries were just processing their game. That deer was a normal deer that could be found, on the outskirts of the forest. Harry was not happy with the deer, but he didn't mind as his mercenaries had also hunted a wolf.

That unfortunate wolf was a Rank-C beast. Those mercenaries would have a very hard time hunting that beast. But when the two mercenaries were chasing the deer, that wolf abruptly jumped on them. One mercenary lost his life to that wolf. But the lucky part was that the wolf was critically injured even before he met the mercenary. So, the last mercenary was able to poison the wolf to death very easily.

Harry made a deal with the mercenaries that he would buy the wolf's hide and the mercenary agreed to it. So on this trip, Harry was able to score a Rank-F deer and Rank-C wolf's hide. That is why he was happy.

Still, this wasn't the best part. The best part was the tennis ball-shaped egg lying in Harry's pocket. That egg came out of the wolf's stomach. Maybe the wolf had swallowed the egg before he met the mercenaries.

Harry was not an expert when it comes to beasts of the 1st floor, but he did have some knowledge. And from what he could tell from the steel type hardness and red luster of the egg, that egg belonged to the overlord of all beasts of the 1st floor.

The Fierce bird.
