Solo Cultivation in The Apocalypse

Chapter 12 The Last Battle.

The moon shone brightly on the big bird that unfolded its wings, claws, and beak in the sky. Hitori’s eyes could no

The bird finally stopped making those annoying sounds, it looked down. Those red eyes burning with flame made contact with Hitori’s deep blue eyes.

This was no time to fret or get scared. You must stand up and fight. ‘Kuroi Katana,’ Hitori raised his hand, ‘Murasaki Ju.’ In one hand he held his katana while in the other he held his gun.

Hitori took a few deep breaths, he practiced a breathing method before facing the beast.

‘You have got this, you are powerful, you are confident, you are a badass.’ Hitori continued muttering the affirmations and thought about nothing.

“I am powerful,” he nodded his head, “I am confident, I am a badass,” Hitori started nodding his head continuously, “let us fucking get it.” he opened his blue eyes and exhaled the air.

To kill this beast with the help of a fire element was going to be impossible. To use a fire element against someone as strong as the bird would only be noted as foolishness.

Hitori disappeared from his spot.

In front of the bird, Hitori looked like a little rat running for his life. Anyone would do that if the opponent’s level was unknown, and if its abilities were unknown.

The fight… had already started. According to Hitori’s calculations, the bird must be somewhere around thirty-five feet tall with fifteen feet long wings, twenty-five feet long body, and a head four feet in radius.

The first one to attack, the first one to take the lead gains some sort of attacking advantage. This was Hitori’s mindset every time he had to engage in combat.

Back when he was just seven, he played his first-ever MMORPG game. After he was slapped by the game a few times, he realized you need to have a strategy, a game plan, and a mindset to win the game.

The air around the rooftop floor was humid a little. The sky was cold but the bird’s flames mixed together with the atmosphere.

Hitori ran towards the bird with his eyes straight fixed on the bird’s ankles. To cut the bird’s claws first would be the most basic strategy.

He can not reach the bird’s head to detach it, but he can reach its claws. With the claws gone, its threat level will decrease by a few points.

Hitori aimed his gun at the bird’s ankles.

A proud bird could not take the disrespect of a rat running under its body.

Squeak!

It let out another screech that was irritating to the ears. Hitori completely ignored the screech cause he knew he got something better coming up.

The bird went even higher in the sky before skyrocketing towards Hitori. Hitori glanced at the sharp claws which were pointed in his direction.

The tips of the nails were sharper than his katana’s tip. Its nails were thick and strong, anyone could tell just by taking a look at the claws.

At that sight, Hitori dropped his idea of attacking the bird, he instead decided to focus on defending himself from the claws first. One hit from them and he would lose a lot of his health points.

A long black blade appeared in between Hitori’s face and the bird’s claws.

The bird’s claws clashed against the katana with a strong impact.

“Ugh…” Hitori felt his feet slide against the ground as he moved back a little. He pushed against the bird by holding his katana in one hand and muttered, “strong.”

His second hand moved up towards the bird’s body, he carried a gun with him. This has got to be the time where he inflects a great deal of damage on the boss.

“Mana overdrive.”

<Not enough mana: 1490/4550>

And he was low on mana too.

Oh, fuck it. Normal bullets will do. Hitori’s index finger touched the trigger, but before could pull it- the bird noticed it.

Squawk!!

The flames that danced on top of its claws started to shift. Hitori’s eyes went wide with the thought of what would happen next.

Shot!

He quickly pulled the trigger, the bird let out another screech. The pace of the flames increased.

And before anything, Hitori was engulfed in the dark orange flames.

He felt a strong push against his katana, Hitori lost his balance because of the sudden burst of flame and the strong push.

He landed hard on the ground.

The bird who kicked Hitori away at the last second flew away from Hitori. Its wings flapped frequently in the air. It looked at Hitori with its dark eyes with excess killing intent.

[HP: 5/75]

A flask with a blue liquid in it appeared from the thin air. Hitori pulled the flash near his mouth. The blue liquid went down his throat and his HP started recovering.

[HP: 30/75] Not even half.

His hand went towards the katana that was lying on the ground. And as soon as his fingers touched the katana’s hilt, a notification appeared.

[HP: 25/75]

‘Five?!’ He realized his mistake and pulled his hand away from the katana. It was the same katana that blocked the flames and the claw after all.

Throwing the flask away, Hitori got off the ground. He rubbed his mouth once again while staring at the proud bird flying over his head.

A purple gun rose up in the air, he pointed the gun at the orange bird. Without aiming, without thinking, he started shooting the bird.

[-10]

The bird finally lost it. It flew in the direction from where the bullets were being shot. Hitori did not stop firing till the bird was close.

Hitori looked on the left side, there was a rock and fallen down walls around there. He glanced at the bird before jumping towards the left side.

He sneaked out and shot the bird’s neck. Yes, neck! He got a critical hit after all.

[-20]

Okay. semi-critical hit. But that is better than the previous–

Bang!

The bird used its claws to break the walls Hitori was hiding behind.

Things did not end there, the bird then used its wings to generate a strong gust of wind which threw rocks away, dust away, and even Hitori.

[HP: 10/75]

Thump!

Hitori landed hard on his back. His arms banged against the ground, his gun got out of his hand and flew a few meters away, it slipped under a rock.

‘Looks like I need to use another potion…’ He opened his inventory and took out the epic healing potion he obtained with the secret treasure.

[HP: 60/75]

“Shitty bird.” Hitori got up from the ground. He raised his eyes. The bird was nowhere to be seen.

A strong gust of wind went past Hitori, he raised his head up at the sky. Up in the dark sky, an orange color bird was trying to touch the moon. It went up like a rocket till it stopped suddenly.

‘No.’ Hitori took a step back, ‘It can not-‘ His words stopped in between.

He saw the bird as it started coming down. Hitori had nowhere to go, his fire spell would not work against the bird. His katana was burning hot, his gun was nowhere to be found.

The bird’s pace increased. The flames that covered the bird started increasing. As if the whole bird was set on fire, flames of fire engulfed the bird while it came down like a drilling machine.

Its wings closed tight and covered its body. The bird spun in the mid-air like a drilling machine.

Hitori stepped back, he ran to the corner of the dungeon. He opened his arms, “Mizu no Mahou,” he had no choice but to use a spell he knows nothing about, “Water barrier!”

A big wall of water rose in front of Hitori.

The bird fell down, its beak touched the ground.

Every dust particle, every rock, every ruin was being lifted off the ground. Hitori covered his head to be able to stand the explosion.

Flames erupted as soon as the bird crashed into the ground, a big wave of flames flew towards Hitori who stepped back.

The strong flames crashed against the water barrier Hitori had created for himself.

Soon the flames started breaking through the water barrier.

Hitori felt his feet leaving the ground.

Bang! His back banged hard against a big wall that acted as a barrier.

Saliva came out of his mouth, blood started pouring out like crazy. And finally, the notification he was waiting for appeared.

[HP: 18/75]

‘That was a hell of a trump card attack.’ Hitori fell face onto the ground. He pulled his hand out and pushed it against the ground.

He could feel no pain whatsoever so it was easy for him to move.

A high-pitched whistling sound of a bird reached Hitori’s ear. He lifted his eyes and saw an orange color bird covered in flames was right in front of him.

Its long beak that was damaged started to open slowly.

The bird spread its wings open, opened its mouth wide open to catch its prey. Before Hitoroi could react- sweep.

He was swept away by the bird, like an insect. The bird took a big leap up in the sky, it threw Hitori out of its mouth high in the air.

[HP: 7/75]

And as Hitori was falling down, the bird grabbed him between its beak. Hitori saw the long tongue waiting to wrap itself around Hitori’s body.

‘I must use it.’ He turned around in the air and pulled both of his arms in front of him, “Mizu no Mahour!” He shouted, “Hydro–” Hitori paused when suddenly a notification appeared.

[Congragulations to Player Rotten Mind and Player Barbarian’s God for conquering a level 25 Zombie Dungeon!]

“Rotten mind-?” He felt his body being pulled down and then go through a long, long never-ending pipeline.

Gulp.

In one go, the bird swallowed Hitori as a whole.

Alas, even surviving the boss’s trump card was not of any use in the end.
