RING~ RING!

Leon opened his eyes after hearing his phone ringing. However, he couldn't get it.

He stared at the ceiling and sighed.

'I still can't move my body, but at least, I can see clearly now.'

Leon moved his eyes to his right and saw Tania hugging him naked while sleeping.

'Even though she said she would be gentle, she was wild. Not that I am complaining.'

RING~ RING!

'I passed out after the fifth round, but if she is sleeping beside me, then it means she was riding me even after I passed out.'

RING~ RING!

'I can't even get my phone…'

RING~RING!

'Who is calling me early in the morning? Well, it might be Layla.' Leon tried to move his body, but it wasn't responding. 'How long am I going to stay like this? It has already been a day… wait a minute. How long has it been since I got shot?'

'You were found almost dead near my apartment. You know, I never go out, but I went to buy some chocolates that day.' Leon recalled what Tania told him last night.

'She said 'that' day. Meaning I was knocked out for more than one day. Not good. Layla might be worried since I haven't contacted her since then.'

RING~ RING!

Leon frowned his face and yelled in Tania's ears: "Wake up!"

Tania jolted and jumped down the bed with a baffled expression on her face. Leon could hear Tania's loud heartbeats as though her heart was about to pop out from her chest.

'Her reflex is inhumane!'

Tania stared at Leon as her eyes got teary, and she started crying.

"..."

She cried for a while and wiped her tears.

"Why did you do that!" she yelled with a sniffle.

"You looked happy while sleeping while I was suffering," Leon replied.

"You could have woken me up normally, you know?" she sobbed.

"My phone has been ringing for minutes, yet you didn't even flinch," Leon remarked. "Get me my phone."

Tania rushed to the table and grabbed Leon's phone.

"Who is it?" Leon asked.

Tania looked at the screen and replied, "It's an unknown number."

Leon raised his brows with a confused expression on his face. "I have already added the university's number since I have been getting lots of calls regarding scholarships and stuff.'

Tania showed him the phone's screen and said, "What should I do?"

"Put it on the speaker."

Tania answered the call on the speaker and sat on the bed beside Leon.

[Hello? Leon! Is that you?!] It was a female's voice.

"Uhh… who is this?" Leon asked with a puzzled look on his face. But the voice sounded familiar to him.

[It's me, Anna!]

Leon immediately frowned his face and uttered, "Hung up the call."

[Wait, wait, wait! I have called you to tell you something important!]

"First, tell me, how did you get my number?" Leon asked curiously.

[I got it from the teacher,] Anna replied.

"And the real truth is…?"

[I hacked into the university's database and got it.]

Leon sighed and asked, "What do you want?"

[Yes! It's about the detective! Why is he still alive?!]

Leon looked into Tania's eyes and said, "Hung up the call."

[Wait. Wait! What's with you?! Why are you acting like this?]

"No. What's with you? I am not in the mood for your nonsense bullshit right now," Leon uttered in an annoyed tone.

[Fine. I won't tell you that the detective went to your apartment.]

"..." Leon took a deep breath and asked in a calm voice: "What do you mean?"

[The detective dropped by the next day. He didn't say anything, but I am sure he was looking for you,] Anna informed.

"Then?"

[He came the next day, and he asked me if I knew where you were. I honestly didn't know, so I replied with no.]

"And?"

[Then he came the next day to interview me. He was acting all friendly and said he was there for a chat, but I knew it was a lowkey interview. He asked me many things about you, and I tried to dodge as many questions as I could.]

"Get to the point already."

[He asked me questions about your family and stuff. Fortunately, even the university didn't provide any details as they didn't have any warrant.]

Ray Marriat's case was labeled as solved by the chief even when Mr.L had asked for a month's time. Due to that, Mr.L legally couldn't interfere anymore with anyone regarding that case. Hence, he couldn't get a proper warrant.

[Then he mentioned going to your apartment.]

'Why would he tell her that if he was planning to do something like that?' Leon wondered.

[Now you must be wondering if the detective was an idiot for telling me about this. But the thing is, he didn't have any search warrant either, so he couldn't get into your apartment without your permission.]

"..."

[He thought I was your girlfriend or something, and he was trying to fool me into inviting him into your apartment.]

"So, what did you do?" Leon asked with an anxious look on his face.

[I told him that you are currently outside the city. But I am sure he will try to get into your house. Do you know why he is suspecting you?] Anna asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice.

'He was checking up on me. He thinks that I am the one who tried to kill him, and he knows that if it were truly me, I would be dead. He is simply confirming the possibility that I was the masked person. And now, I have fueled his suspicions.'

Leon let out a weary sigh and asserted: "You already have access to my apartment, don't you?"

[How… do you know that?] Anna gasped on the phone and said, [Don't tell me that you have hidden cameras and you were watching me dancing naked in your bedroom!]

"What the hell did you just say?!"

[Oops! I spoke too much. Get back to your apartment soon. I have a surprise for you!]

After that, Anna hung up the call.

Tania squinted her eyes at Leon and asked, "Who was that girl?"

"Someone who is climbing to the top in my must-kill list," Leon replied with an annoyed expression on his face.

After a brief silence, he glanced at Tania and asked, "Do you know any neurosurgeons?"

Tania nodded and replied, "The ones who performed your operation were neurosurgeons."

"Good. Call them here."

"Sure, but… what are you going to do?" Tania asked with a nervous look on her face.

Leon took a deep breath and said in a solemn voice: "I am going to get rid of this weak human body of mine."
