Chapter 9 Fate

　　After the deal was decided, He Xinyan stood up to leave again. This time, Gu Yechen decided to leave together with her.

When He Xinyan’s fingers wrapped around the door handle, a quick image suddenly flashed through her brain, causing her head to hurt.

”Ah,” He Xinyan put both hands up to her head and held it tightly, trying to get a close look at the image again.

There was a face, but it was too blurry.

”Miss He, is there anything wrong?” Gu Yechen asked. He was extremely worried but couldn’t show it too much in case she got suspicious.

The image flashed a second time and this time, He Xinyan got a clear view of the face.

The face belonged to a man, and it was extremely handsome; almost perfect.

Bang! The smell of blood around her and the sound of muffled whispers. Footsteps getting louder and a face. That face!

He Xinyan swung around, ignoring the burning pain coming from her head. His face!

They walked out of the hotel together and Gu Yechen had his driver bring He Xinyan back to XX Film University.

During the entire car ride, Gu Yechen’s face kept showing up in He Xinyan’s vision. It was him! The last face she saw before she died was Gu Yechen.

He Xinyan closed her eyes and tried as hard as she could to bring back the memories of her car accident. He showed up after a minute or so. A car door slammed and then he walked over to her.

Was he the one that hit her?

He Xinyan opened her eyes in surprise and knew that must be it. In her past life, Gu Yechen was the one that killed her.

He probably didn’t do it on purpose, and He Xinyan should thank him, since his accident brought her back to the past, giving her a second chance.

Plus, even if the accident didn’t take place, Li Yuyan and her mom, Li Huiran, would definitely figure out a way to get rid of her.

He Xinyan smiled as the car came to a stop in front of the school. They met again in a completely different situation, meaning that she was successful in changing things in her second life.

Maybe this was fate.

He Xinyan returned to the dorm to see Wu Minger crying, “What’s wrong?”

”Yanyan!” Wu Minger screamed as she lunged at her, “Where were you? Why did you disappear for a whole night? I was so worried about you and you didn’t answer my calls or respond to my texts! The hotel also said that you weren’t there! I thought something happened to you!”

He Xinyan wiped away Wu Minger’s tears patiently, something she would have never done in her past life. Wu Minger had always been very emotional, and He Xinyan was usually too lazy to put up with her long and dramatic acts.

However, maybe it was because He Xinyan was more mature this time around. So, when she saw Wu Minger crying like a lost puppy, she couldn’t help but feel sympathy for her.

”Don’t worry, nothing happened. Well, something did happen, but it isn’t anything bad. My phone ran out of battery, so I didn’t receive your messages or calls. Oh, stop crying. It’s okay, Minger!”

After a few more minutes, Wu Minger finally stopped crying and sat down to listen to He Xinyan’s story.

”What?! Gu Yechen! The Gu Corporation Gu Yechen?! The super handsome and scary Gu Yechen?”

He Xinyan nodded her head, “I know it’s surprising. But it would be helpful for us too. Plus, I just started in the entertainment industry, so he will definitely help me.”

Wu Minger nodded her head “Okay. Just make sure you are happy with him and he doesn’t bully you.”

He Xinyan smiled, “Don’t worry, he won’t.”

Wu Minger calmed down completely after He Xinyan agreed to buy fried chicken for her, and she went back to quietly doing her homework.

He Xinyan’s phone had finished charging, and she realized she had received a message from Gu Yechen.

She had given him her phone number, but she didn’t expect him to text her already.

’Gu Yechen: Since we are in a relationship now, you should come and live with me.’

Gu Yechen had spent the past half an hour deciding how he should phrase the message, and ended up using this domineering tone to match his true personality.

Now, he was staring at the phone with anticipation, waiting for a reply.

He Xinyan read the message quickly and replied, ‘Hello Mr. Gu, I can’t move in with you right now. I am graduating soon, so I will be moving back to the He family’s mansion. Thank you for the offer.’

He Xinyan took a deep breath and closed her phone. The He family mansion belonged to her grandfather, who had spent several years designing it and decorating it.

The mansion held all of the good memories from the past. The memories with her mother, father, and grandfather. But now. . . it has been stained by the Li mother and daughter.

Li Yuyan and Li Huiran!

It was time for her to take back what was hers. She can’t let them dirty the house anymore!

Gu Yechen immediately picked up his phone when he heard it ring, something he never does during board meetings.

All of the high-level managers turned to look at their boss simultaneously, wondering which important person had sent the message.

The next second, everyone sitting in the room felt a cold breeze fly by and the room temperature seemed to drop.

CEO Gu’s facial expression had just turned from excitement to displeasure, and it was very, very scary.

Everyone inside the room didn’t even dare to breathe loudly as they waited for their boss to finish reading the message.

Gu Yechen read the message over and over again, almost as if it would change if he read it enough times.

Finally, he gave up and his shoulders sank.

’Ok,’ he replied dejectedly.
