Fang JunRong decided to send Jiang DeXian over to take a look. Jiang DeXian nodded slightly and walked over to the backstage. He saw that Li XinYun was about to start sweating even though the air-conditioning was running in the room.
“Well, hurry up and check! And find out what is wrong! Who was the one responsible for this part earlier?”
Jiang DeXian walked over. “Let me help.” Then he arranged each worker a section to check. Through the checking, they were able to quickly discover the equipment that had bad contact.
Once that was fixed, Li XinYun let out a big sigh of relief. fter thanking Jiang DeXian, she went to check the other areas and had Jiang DeXian kept an eye out for her on this end. She was so annoyed that the issue occurred the minute she stepped away.
Without too much on his plate, Jiang DeXian decided to stay and help out.
“Eh, I didn’t expect to see you here, Xian.”
Hearing that name, Jiang DeXian frowned with disgust. He looked over at the person who talked to him and said, “It’s you.”
It was Li Xuan.
Seeing Jiang DeXian there, Li Xuan paused for a little and raised his brows. “Do you work here now, Xian?”
He had a regretful look on him. “With your look and ability, you didn’t need to pick up a job like this.” Looking at how far his comrade who bettered him in all areas back in the days had fallen gave Li Xuan a strong sense of superiority. Albeit the fact that he was no longer as famed as he once was, he was still a star with all his glory and being able to afford the best of everything.
Jiang DeXian replied nonchalantly. “Yeah, my job right now is quite good.”
“We are old friends. If you really need help, I will be more than happy to lend a hand. How much do you make here? This is a waste of your talent. Why don’t you come and be my assistant? I’ll pay you 30,000 yuan.” He paused for a little and, with a more mocking look, said, “Do you even make 10,000 yuan right now? Do you get any health benefits?”
Jiang DeXian said leisurely, “I make an alright amount but the bonus is where the meat is. I think I made about 50 million in bonus this year.” He had Zhang ZhiYang to thank for that. Hopefully there would be more fools like him.
Li Xuan, “? ? ?”
Li Xuan felt that Jiang DeXian was joking with him. 50 million in bonus? Did he think he was the CEO of the world Top 100 company?
He snickered, “You are getting funnier and funnier. No company pays that much in bonus. Why don’t you refer me then?” Even during his three most famed years, he did not make that much combined. Jiang DeXian was just lying to make himself look good.
Jiang DeXian gave him a look and said nonchalantly. “Nah, you can’t do it. Your IQ is not high enough and your temperament too greasy. When was the last time you had an injection? Your face is not holding up very well. Are you still able to show emotions when you film?”
Li Xuan felt rage rushing straight up his head. His hands formed into fist and his teeth rattling from him gritting them too hard. “You bast***–”
“Are you guys done yet?”
It was Zhong Yi. Looking over at Jiang DeXian, she said, “Assistant Jiang, everything is okay over here, right?”
Jiang DeXian nodded, “Yep. I am keeping an eye out.”
Zhong Yi smiled with a little embarrassment. “I apologize. We are a little short-handed.” Li XinYun and herself were inexperienced and, as such, did not hire enough help and had to take care of lot by themselves. She gave Li Xuan a look and said, “Is Mr. Li staying to help?”
Li Xuan immediately switched from being angry just a moment ago and put on a smile. “No, I saw an old friend and thought I will come and chat with him.”
Looking over at Jiang DeXian and grunted from his nose, Li Xuan left the backstage.
Jiang DeXian inspected everything one more time and, hesitated a little, he decided to remind Zhong Yi. “Don’t get too close to him. He might be bad news.”
Zhong Yi paused a little, nodded, and said in a low voice. “He volunteered himself this time.”
Li Xuan was not a tier-one actor but he was somewhat famed still. Her project with XinYun appeared ordinary at the beginning and they weren’t able to secure any one more famed. Granted, they could have turned to her adoptive mother for help but it was unnecessary. As such, for the time being, Li Xuan who had volunteered himself seemed to be a good option. After working with him some, she was not a fan of his character but the contract was signed and it was too late to back out of it.
Seeing that she had some ideas already, Jiang DeXian did not elaborate. He merely reminded her because of his boss. Her two daughters were very important to her.
