Nine Evolutions of the True Spirit

Chapter 389: The Final Victory

Chapter 389: The Final Victory

Chen Lian looked at Hu Lili’s calm expression, and asked hesitantly, “Hey, aren’t you worried at all? There’s more than just one monster Enlightened Master out there!”

Hu Lili smiled, “How many times have you seen him do things he has no confidence in?”

Chen Lian shrugged his shoulders, and then the two of them returned to the cave-dwelling to recover from their injuries. The third spirit vein in the cave-dwelling was recovering, so the concentration of spiritual energy in the cave-dwelling was constantly on the rise.

Enlightened Master Lv Hai had already noticed something odd about the situation, but before he and the others could discuss what to do, a young human Enlightened Master flew out of Huang Li Island’s protective formation.

The monster Enlightened Masters were overjoyed, thinking that the humans had finally given up on the island and were now escaping. However, a moment later, they quickly realized that this was not the case.

The young human Enlightened Master’s aura was deep and vast like an ocean; he was nowhere close to a man on the run for his life, and was instead like a soaring Jiao coming out to hunt!

Sure enough, the instant the young man saw them, he slashed his sword forward, unleashing a sky of golden sword lights that drowned out the horizon and reflected the sea in its glow.

The five Mid Core Forging Realm monsters were initially looking down on him for having the audacity to face all five of them at once, and were ready to teach this brat a lesson when they suddenly saw the sky filled with golden sword lights.

Enlightened Master Lv Hai’s face changed drastically, “A sword formation! This is the sword formation from a great sword divine ability!”

“How is this possible? Who are you!?”

“Lu Xuan-Ping, he’s Lu Xuan-Ping!”

Lu Ping looked at the monster Enlightened Master who recognized him, who he recalled as Enlightened Master Yu Hua, the monster Enlightened Master that had occupied Huang Li Island before he reclaimed it. Back then, he was severely wounded by Lu Ping, but it seemed that he had now recovered.

Lu Ping’s abnormally massive true energy and divine revelation, equivalent to that of Late Core Forging Realm Enlightened Masters, suppressed the five Mid Core Forging Realm monsters in the sword formation.

Enlightened Master Lv Hai quickly calmed himself and shouted at the others, “We need to work together to break this sword formation or none of us will live!”

Lu Ping sneered coldly; the sneer was like a blast of thunder that exploded in their ears, causing them to shudder. The monster Enlightened Masters were shocked, quickly realizing that Lv Hai was right; they had to work together or none of them would make it out alive!

At the same time, they were all in disbelief, How is this possible, isn’t this level of divine revelation only in the Late Core Forging Realm? How can his divine revelation be so strong? Does this mean no one in the Mid Core Forging Realm can compete with his divine revelation?

A few moments later, the monster Enlightened Masters blasted a hole through the sword formation, and quickly rushed out with Enlightened Master Lv Hai in the lead, followed by two other Enlightened Masters behind him.

They were so quick that even Lu Ping couldn’t stop them in time. After all, Lu Ping was also in the Mid Core Forging Realm; just like them, he wasn’t actually a Late Core Forging Realm Enlightened Master despite having similar qualities in certain aspects.

Fortunately, just as the fourth monster Enlightened Master was about to pass through the hole, a giant stamp seal rammed into it from outside of the sword formation, pushing the Enlightened Master back in.

Enlightened Master Yu Hua seized the opening and slipped through the hole from the side. Right after, he heard a cry of death behind him. He had no doubt that the fourth Enlightened Master was now dead.

Just as Enlightened Master Yu Hua was grateful for making it out alive, he saw a dozen flying lights in the corner of his eyes. Clearly, the reinforcements from the Zhen Ling Sect had arrived. He felt even luckier because if he was just a step slower, he would bump into them and still be killed even after escaping the sword formation.

At this time, the only thought in Yu Hua’s mind was that he didn’t want to have any part in the human-monster war anymore. Once he got back to the monster race, he wanted to immediately put in a request to withdraw from the war, even if that would cost him his status and reputation.

However, even this wish proved to be too extravagant.

Amid the horrified eyes of Enlightened Master Xuan-Cang and the others that had just arrived to reinforce Huang Li Island, Yu Hua’s body was suddenly cut into two halves in mid-air, with his blood splashing across the sky as his remains sank to the bottom of the sea!

Then, they looked in the other direction, where Huang Li Island’s protective formation was still operational, and saw a young gentleman smiling at them with his hands behind his back.

At the same time, the dark clouds that represented Enlightened Master Mo Wei had already receded when the reinforcements from Zhen Ling Sect arrived. The fiery clouds that represented Enlightened Master Qu Xuan-Cheng also started to recede.

Lu Ping looked at the Enlightened Masters that had arrived, and greeted them with a smile, “Chong Hua Palace’s disciple, Lu Xuan-Ping, greets the martial uncles.”

Enlightened Master Xuan-Cang and Xuan-Qing clearly didn’t expect things to turn out this way, their expressions changing constantly as they pondered quietly and didn’t speak. Instead, Enlightened Master Xuan-He spoke first, “So you are Junior Nephew Xuan-Ping? How talented, you’re truly worthy of being Senior Sister Xuan-Ling’s disciple. Have the monsters retreated?”

Lu Ping knew they had many questions, but nothing could be more convincing than letting them see for themselves. Hence, he titled his body and pointed his hand at the island, and said, “Yes, they have retreated. Martial uncles, let’s continue the discussion on the island.”

Sure enough, the Enlightened Masters were eager, and quickly passed through the protective formation into the island. The instant they entered the island, the mixed cheers from the crowd poured into their eardrums.

But quickly, the island turned quiet and was plunged into silence. This was because the entrance of nine Enlightened Masters, including Lu Ping, was too shocking, especially right now.

Before the invasion, there were more than seven hundred cultivators on the island, but after the battle, fewer than five hundred remained, with more than two hundred cultivators having fallen. However, those who lived had all plundered a large amount of resources, so most of them were actually glad and excited.

Among the eight Enlightened Masters that came from Di Kun Island, Enlightened Master Xuan-Cang was in the Late Core Forging Realm, with the remaining seven in the Mid Core Forging Realm. Hence, their divine revelations were able to cover the entire island and easily see everything.

Without exception, all of them were shocked after seeing the bodies of six Enlightened Masters.

Enlightened Master Xuan-He looked at Lu Ping, and asked directly, “Junior Nephew Lu, six Enlightened Masters attacked the island?”

Naturally, everyone could tell the true intention behind the question was to find out how in the world Huang Li Island killed these six Enlightened Masters?

However, Lu Ping naturally wouldn’t disclose his cards to them, so he only smiled and didn’t answer. Then, he led them into the cave-dwelling, where Chen Lian and Hu Lili had already cleaned the place to welcome them.

As soon as they entered the cave-dwelling, they were immediately immersed in highly concentrated spiritual energy. Then, they looked at the six bodies again and heard the distant cheers from the cultivators on the island.

With such a huge success from Huang Li Island, their plan of taking over the island had totally failed. All of a sudden, they didn’t know what to say.

After a few moments of silence, Xuan-Qing cleared his throat, and said, “Junior Nephew Lu, I still think the island’s defensive power is lacking. Why don’t we ask Senior Brother Xuan-Cang to assign two more Mid Core Forging Realm brothers to help you look after the island’s safety. This way, the monster race won’t dare to attack the island anymore. What do you say?”

Hu Lili and Chen Lian’s faces turned gloomy and they stared at Xuan-Qing with hostility.

Lu Ping smiled, and asked back, “Junior uncle, you are late to the show. Do you know how many monster Enlightened Masters attacked this time?”

Xuan-Qing was puzzled, not knowing Lu Ping’s intention, and so he asked, “How many?”

Lu Ping answered, “Apart from Enlightened Master Mo Wei, there were eleven of them, six of whom were in the Mid Core Forging Realm.”

The Enlightened Masters all sucked in a deep breath of cold air, as Xuan-He asked anxiously, “Then how did you do it?”

Immediately after, Xuan-He quickly realized that he had asked the wrong question, and so he smiled back apologetically at Lu Ping.

Lu Ping smiled back, and then waved his hand, causing the bodies of two other monster Enlightened Masters to appear in front of them.

The Enlightened Masters looked at the bodies of the eight Enlightened Masters in silence. The lingering auras remaining inside the bodies clearly showed that three of them were Mid Core Forging Realm Enlightened Masters; one of them was even in the Fifth Layer Core Forging Realm.
