My Unconventional Delivery System!

Chapter 21 - Rumours (Edited)

The price of the foods sold in the school cafeteria were akin to most schools. But being an elite school there was a separate premium menu with a variety of dishes which were expectantly extremely expensive. As the elites didn't have any money troubles it was suitable for them.

Kyle couldn't buy much, he was eternally broke. The only item affordable for him was the Yakisoba Pan, a Japanese style hot dog. It came in four sizes. Small, Medium, Large and the Special Extra Large variety and they were priced 100, 300, 500 and 1000 yen respectively.

For him the medium sized meal was enough. After the purchase he went towards his classroom. What greeted his sight soon was a curious Meru continuously searching around his classroom, indicating that she was searching for someone specific; someone whose identity was very obvious to guess.

He had confidence in his guess. She was obviously searching for him. After all he was the culprit who made her cute ass redder than ripe tomatoes.

Aside from him no one is capable of doing the same but of course only in the entire class.

He tapped Meru's shoulder informing her of his arrival. "I'm here."

"Ahh!"

Meru let out a cute scream of surprise, she immediately turned towards Kyle. "You startled me!"

"I didn't do it on purpose. I was just informing you of my arrival. So why are you looking for me? Need something?"

"Hah? Why are you so sure that I'm looking for you?"

"You're not?" Kyle challenged.

"Well… I am." Meru gave in when confronting those dead-like eyes of Kyle.

"Then speak up already, will you?! I still need to eat my lunch and I'm damn hungry!"

"Alright, alright I'm telling, let's hangout later!" She invited him with a cheerful expression.

"I refuse." Kyle deadpanned.

"Why? Aren't you happy that a beautiful girl invited you to a date?"

"Knowing you, I'm pretty sure it's not a date, even if it is I'm not into little girls and lolitas. But most important of all, I have a shift after school on work. So I can't attend to your invitation… little girl."

Meru was a bit surprised, asking inquisitively "You have a job?"

"I do? Why? Is it that surprising, to have a job?"

"Ah, well yeah I guess, at least for you?"

"How so?"

"Well, I may or may not have thought that you're a rich kid or something along those lines?"

"Hell no, I ain't rich… not even close. At least for now."

"Oh? How confident of you… well let me ask a question then."

"Go on."

"What do you do as a job anyway?"

"I'm a delivery guy at MgRonalds Restaurant." Kyle said without hesitation. To him his job wasn't one to be ashamed of. In fact he was proud to have a job and become a working adult of the society. To him every job done with morality and diligence was a job to be proud of.

Meru nodded, mischief evident in her gesture as if devising some devious schemes, her grinning face was wide denoting the visage of a scheming mastermind. "I see…."

Of course Kyle noticed her intentions but didn't quite understand what she schemed nor did he particularly feel inclined to ask. He would deal with it if and when it happens. Moreover he didn't believe Meru would do something harmful to him, bothersome and mischievous she was but still was a pure girl at heart. So he let her be with her schemes.

"Is that all? If it is, then I'm entering my classroom."

"Okay, okay! Sheesh, what a busybody. I'll see you in the afternoon then! Meru left without letting him reply.

As Kyle was about to enter, Meru's words clicked in his mind as he noticed a particular detail at the end.

"Hey, little girl! What do you mean by 'see you in the afternoon'?! Hey?!"

Meru was already far away from Kyle, even if she could hear, from her previous expression and tone it was evident that she wouldn't reply.

Kyle was too lazy, and more importantly too hungry, to chase her, he decided to simply forget and entered his classroom… finally!!!

As soon as Kyle entitled, the previously lively classroom turned eerily silent. Everyone's gaze was laying on him. For some reason, all of their gazes held… fear. There were myriads of expressions of scorn, disgust, embarrassment, astonishment plastered on their visage but everyone was united by the fear they held, a fear directed towards him. A stark contrast to the curiosity and interest filled expressions they held of him before the whole ordeal with Kyōka.

Their reactions made him both confused and extremely awkward. Their gazes entailed their thoughts… their thoughts speaking, that if they weren't careful Kyle would devour them whole. It was as if they were thinking of Kyle as a hungry predator in front of prime prey, the prey being they, themselves, at least that's what their expressions expressed to Kyle!

Kyle smiled awkwardly as he inquired in earnest confusion. "Why are you guys looking at me like that?…" He paused and joked a bit, in a playful tone, to relieve the tensed atmosphere. "It's okay, you guys. I promise I won't bite…"

A moment of painful silence ensued, some girls were swayed a bit by his humor, evident from the chuckle they were withholding, but it seemed that nobody was really willing to break the tense vibe, something was still holding them back. In the midst of this status quo, a girl looking timid and fearful mustered her courage visibly and spoke in a quivering stuttering tone; it signified that she was still fearful but didn't want to isolate him like the rest and be a voice of reason. "K-kobayashi-kun! Is it true that you defeated Kyōka-sama and afterwards you stripped her bare and y-y-y-you r*ped her in the infirmary?!" She blushed strongly after she finished that sentence, eyes locked on his figure, albeit shyly, as she waited for his reply.

Kyle's jaw simply dropped from his mouth at the absurdity of her accusations, he practically screamed in outrage. "WHAT THE HELL?!!! WHO IN THE NAME OF THE LORD SAID THOSE STUPID WORDS?!

The cowardly bunch got scared from his sudden outburst, their whole visage was of panic and dread, meanwhile the brave girls put on a defensive stance, as long as he moved they would attack him immediately, they had no doubt that if he did move, he'd defeat them easily, but they were determined, if they had to be r*ped they wouldn't go down without a fight. At least they would sacrifice themselves to save some of their friends and wait for them to inform the police to restrain him. Even though they might be late to save some of them from the clutches of the fiend named Kyle.

Meanwhile the voice of reason, the girl who informed Kyle almost keeled over in fright, her expression was that of absolute dread, as if she was sure she was done for; that in her goodwill of trying to inform Kyle had earned her the fiend's ire and now she herself had invited her doom, she would be the second victim of his fiendish clutches. Thinking till here she became teary eyed, her legs shaking in fright.

What was the main culprit behind the girls drastic reaction was Kyle's dead eyes nailing her with it's stare. "S-s-sorry! Please don't r*pe me, Kobayashi-kun, I'll do anything, please don't." She begged him for her chastity.

Hearing her pitiful voice and quivering pleas, he suddenly realized that his outburst and damned eyes had successfully scared his classmates, he closed his eyes. Calmed down his agitated heart and took a deep breath. Changing his tone to a soft and gentle one he pulled his most earnest expression to convey his innocence.

"My bad, I shouldn't have shouted at you. I'm terribly sorry, but you have to understand when someone is accusing you of a heinous crime that you never even imagined of commiting, much less commiting in real you'd get a bit agitated. Where did you even hear that? I assure you that those rumors are completely false, they're trying to slander my morality. I'm innocent. What happened in reality was that Kyōka invited me to a fight and after I defeated her, she became unconscious at our last exchange of blows. So, I simply carried her to the infirmary to get treated. If you don't believe me, you can ask the infirmary nurse of the happenings, she'll surely assure you of my innocence and clear this misunderstanding."

His earnest and gentle tone, along with his pleading gaze and convincing explanations lessened the tense atmosphere of the classroom, they still had their doubts but mostly they believed him and many sighed in relief. From the start they were doubtful of these rumors but their isolated contact from the opposite gender, along with their unfamiliarity with Kyle, made them unaware of their general intentions so they somehow believed it. But now with Kyle's earnest explanation they were mostly sure those rumors were blown out of proportions and entirely false.

"I-is that so? I'm sorry! I shouldn't have trusted those rumours! Again I'm sorry for accusing of trying to r-r-r*pe me. I hope that you forgive me Kobayashi-kun!"

"We're sorry too Kobayashi-kun!"

Most of his classmates apologized to him, he could only say 'It's fine.' repeatedly.

Thus the 'chaotic' first day of school ended in a peaceful fashion, for some reason Kyōka didn't join the class even after she regained her consciousness.

She just stayed behind at the Infirmary until the end of the class thinking about the battle she lost with Kyle.

Kyle didn't know about her difficulties, nor he would have cared even if he did. He had come to the conclusion after all the happenings that it would be wise if he steered as far away from Kyōka as possible.

He went straight to MgRonald after school hours. He had to because his new shift didn't allow him any time to return to his apartment or his aunt's. He would simply be late if he did either of the actions.

Kyle arrived at MgRonald just in time, he immediately changed his school outfit to the standard MgRonald delivery boy outfit.

After checking himself in, he immediately started his shift.

..

..

..

Few hours and tens of deliveries later, Kyle was currently on his way to the last delivery of the day.

He arrived at the building of the last delivery order. The person had ordered the highest value meal of the restaurant. He checked out the building and thought out loud in awe.

"Damn, the customer who ordered this must be crazy rich to be able to live in this building… if I recall correctly this is the most expensive and lavish building in this city... let's see… oh? The customer lives at the top floor of the building! They must be way richer than I thought! After all, not many people have the capital to live on the highest floor!"

He didn't waste more of his time admiring the wealth of the customer as he was about to be late for the delivery!

Kyle went inside the building, only to be stopped by a security guard, but after explaining his purpose the security guard let him in.

Unlike most of the security guards from China who are mostly toxic and arrogant, Japanese guards are more rational and understanding. (Wuxia Reference we are not slandering the irl security guards)

He used the elevator to go to the highest floor, which was for some strange reason the 69th, after waiting for a few minutes, he arrived at his destination.

Kyle didn't need to find his customer's apartment because there was only a single apartment in the entire mind numbingly large 69th floor. The customer being a rich tycoon was practically guaranteed.

Before pressing the doorbell of the room, he had a premonition that something would happen after he pressed it, something that would at the very least annoy him.

Taking a deep breath, he pressed the button.

Not even a few seconds later, the fancy and lavishly designed door opened, making Kyle surprised at the customers fast response.

He mused 'This customer must been really hungry-'

All of his thoughts stopped as he saw the person standing beside the door, he was speechless, unable to utter a single word.

"Yo! Like I said, good afternoon, Kyle! Hehehe!"

It was Hatenko Meru! He finally understood why she said those words a few hours ago!

"What the hell…" Kyle forcefully smiled at Meru's antics.

"Now come inside!" Meru said cheerfully.
