The next morning, In the room, Xiao li kept glancing behind her to catch a glimpse of Jingyi Wang.

After Xiao li had done that for the fifth time, Jingyi Wang finally opened his mouth and asked, "What are you looking at?" ​​

Xiao li hurriedly turned back.

She then pretended to arrange her clothes before saying nonchalantly, "Are you going to work today?"

Jingyi Wang glanced at her and said, "Yes. Why? Don't you want me to go?"

Xiao li hurriedly replied, "No, I was just asking"

"Alright" Jingyi Wang chuckles. "I'm going to work now. Don't stay in your room all day, okay?" Jingyi Wang smiled at her as he ruffled her hair affectionately before leaving the room.

Xiao li furrowed her eyebrows, finding Jingyi Wang's behavior strange. Ever since she sang that song for him, he didn't talk about it, or show any sign of anger.

He even treated her very well and cared for her.

Xiao li was wondering if he hit his head on something which made him forget what she did.

She got up from the bed and went downstairs to the dining area to eat. She sat down elegantly, picked up her bowl, and served herself, then she began to eat her food.

After eating, Xiao li went to the room where the piano is being kept and sat on the stool. Her delicate finger pressed on the key which created a tune.

At that moment, she suddenly remembered the song she sang for Jingyi Wang and her lips curled into a smile. She didn't know what made her sing that song. Perhaps, it was because she was angry at him.

She thought inwardly, 'Is he really not angry with me, or is he pretending not to be angry?'

Xiao li's eyes gleamed as she thought of this.

Throughout that day, Xiao li didn't stop playing the piano. She played the piano till her finger began to tremble and turned numb.

Tiredly, she rested her head on the piano and drifted off to sleep.

In her dream, there was thunder and lightening; the wind blew hard. The rain poured down heavily.

Xiao li and Jingyi Wang were running in the forest, panting heavily. Xiao li turned her head and saw that those thugs were still following them. In their hands were sticks and knives.

Xiao li panicked and urged Jingyi Wang to run faster, "Jingyi Wang, they are going to catch us. What are we going to do?"

Jingyi Wang held her hand tightly and comforted her. He said in a calm voice, "I will protect you. I won't let them harm you"

Xiao li nodded her head as tears fell like streams from her eyes. She turned her head and saw that they were still following them.

She tilted her head to the side and saw that Jingyi Wang's clothes were drenched with rain and his hair were plastered to his face.

As they were running, she realised that they were both becoming tired.

At that moment, In one heavy thunder- shower the lightning struck a large tree across their way. The trees fell in their middle and seperated them at both sides. Xiao li reached out her hand to grab Jingyi Wang's hand, but realized that it was very difficult.

At that moment, Xiao li saw that they were closer. She panicked and screamed, "Look... behind you"

Jingyi Wang said in a calm voice, "Xiao li, leave now. You have to escape. Leave me here, okay?"

Xiao li suddenly shook her head, "No, I can't leave you here. We should leave together"

Instantly, Jingyi Wang pushed her and raised his voice, saying, "You should go, now!"

Tears rolled down her eyes as she turned and began to run.

At that moment, the only thing that came to her mind was to run to the streets and ask for help.

As she ran a few steps forward, Xiao li heard the sound of an object piercing through flesh. Her running came to a halt and she spun around at once.

She froze in shock when she saw a knife had pierced right into Jingyi Wang's chest.

How was this possible?

Didn't he say that he would find a way to escape?

Xiao li stared at the knife in disbelief which was buried in Jingyi Wang's chest and only the knife handle was visible. She looked up and saw the sharp pain in his chest caused his face to lost colour and his forehead was now wet with sweat.

She cried, "Jingyi Wang..."

Jingyi Wang's slender figure sway and he fell on his knees. With her eyes widely opened. She stared at the gathering scarlet fluid. The fresh red color gushed out of his body which stained his white shirt.

"Jingyi Wang..." Her lips suddenly quivered as she spoke nervously, then she saw him raise his head slightly and stared at her emotionlessly.

In the rain, she heard his weak voice, "Xiao li, get out of here and remember to protect yourself. I love you"

The last three words he said made her feel a sharp pain as though her heart had just been pierced.

When she somewhat recovered from the shock, she saw that his body had fallen down.

She felt like everything had completely fallen apart. At that moment, she wanted to rush forward, but she realised that as she wanted to run, her legs refused to move.

Gasping in shock, she saw that the floor beneath her collapsed. Jingyi Wang's body which was lying on the ground and those thugs running after them were gone.

"Jingyi Wang..." Xiao li abruptly sat up in her bed. Her heart hammering against her chest. Her body was trembling uncontrollably as she ran her trembling hand through her hair.

"Xiao li, are you okay?"

All of a sudden, she heard a calm, gentle voice behind her. She froze for a moment before turning her head. The first thing came to her view was the handsome face of Jingyi Wang.

The face she saw in her dream.

She stared dazedly at the familiar face as her eyes welled up.

Jingyi Wang asked again, "What happened?"

However, instead of him to get a reply, he received a hug which stunned him.
