Modern Weapon Summoning System

Chapter 98 - Argument About Nukes

Anna and Del were walking in Halivaara. They were heading for the medical tent to report to Hubert. With one million dollars in their hand, it might be a good idea to buy something good. Sadly, Tank or APC wasn't an option because neither of them had ever used them. Right now, a better infantry weapon would be the best choice for them.

Besides, there was something that Del hadn't checked out in quite a long time. He wanted to check his status plate. He had killed some special force soldiers, a company of tanks, and enough soldiers for leveling up.

"Another upgrade, what could it be this time?" Del asked Pidma.

"For a patch, this is not bad, especially the ability to sell items, but well, to be honest, I wonder what we would be able to do with this much amount of money," Del showed the tablet to Anna.

Anna was intrigued by the proposal. It meant that they would be able to plunder the enemies more efficiently which meant that she could make much more money which meant that they could get back to Eric faster. Anna didn't care about what would he do to Eric, she just wanted her to die.

"Del, do you mind browsing nukes?" Anna asked.

"Nukes? How are we supposed to be using them? Just press the button and wish for the best?" Del was surprised by that statement.

"Just browse ICBM for me, will you?" Anna asked.

"Sure."

"Damn, we still have a long way to go, don't you think?" Del asked.

"Well, not too long, but we need a nuke sooner or later," Anna commented.

"I'm not exactly wanting to have a weapon of mass destruction, but it would be necessary for the future. Still, is it that simple as pushing a button and the missile will go to our target?" Del asked.

"Well, yeah, I meant, if we want to crush Elbanian, we must destroy their economy and nothing is better than a bunch of multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles with the strength of ten bombs in Hiroshima. Just imagine all capitals in Elbanian destroyed at once," Anna said.

"Jeez, Anna…" Del muttered.

"What? It's not like those dudes will retaliate with us?" Anna said as she grabbed the tablet.

She was looking at the specification of his ICBM. Her eyes were glued to the screen. The fire that burned through her skin, turning it into nothing but charcoal, Anna wanted that in Eric. The nuclear weapon was no different than fire, it was more destructive, more impressive, more lethal, and most importantly, more practical. She just wanted Eric to be dead.

Del tried accepting the real fact that his sister had changed, but it was not that easy. His sister used to be the type that stayed in the kitchen while listening to popular music while cutting vegetables with her knife. Now, she turned into someone who would chop someone's private part while gunning down thousand of soldiers coming after her with a machine gun.

"Yes, but still… nuke is just too much," Del uttered.

"What do you mean?" Anna crossed her hands, her eyes were piercing him with one thousand reasons why nuke was pretty much needed.

Del sighed as the two sides inside of his brain had a match on the ring with one side wanting as much revenge as it could and the other wanting to minimize as much civilian loss as possible. The fight inside of his head really gave him the headache of the century. It was between integrity or morality, "I want to kill Eric as much as you do, but is it necessary to kill thousands of people that don't even know what the hell was going on?"

"You know nothing about Elbanian, Del. They do know about the genocide!" Anna screamed.

A glimpse on Anna's face would show that the veins around her eyes would pop sooner or later. Del just gave her a big no about the nuke and now he regretted it. She got the point that Del had little to no interaction to the regular people around him, especially since he didn't have any interest to know people's opinion about the current situation. That didn't meant that he would have to kill all of the women and children just for the sake of hunting down Eric.

"What are you implying now, huh? You are suggesting that we should kill hundreds thousands of people just because of one single guy? What made you better than the Elbanian comitting mass-genocide in Reian then? I'm asking you now!" Del shouted back.

"I—" Anna opened her mouth, then tears started running in her eyes.

"Anna?" Del walked closer to her, trying to calm her down.

Suddenly, Anna clenched her hands and threw a punch right into Del's face. Del readied himself to parry the punches that Anna threw at him. A lot of them were parried by Del, but some of them hit Del in his eyes, in his nose, and in his mouth. He could have clenched his fists back and threw a devastating punch to Anna, but there was something that stop him from doing that.

Anna kept punching Del until his nose started to bleed and his face turned black and blue. She kept throwing her punches to Del's face until Del fell to the ground from one of the punches that Anna threw at him.

Del fell to the ground. Anna immediately came to him and clenched her fist again, but Del just smiled, "If a regular person tried to do that, I'd immediately shoot him or her with my rifle." With his strength, Del held Anna's arms in place so she didn't try to punch him anymore. "I thought you were better than this, it turned out that I was wrong."

Del then slammed Anna to the ground and pressed her body against the ground so she wouldn't move anywhere, "You know, I really wish that meeting you would turn into a happy family reunion, I really wished that it were that simple, but it turned out that things are more complicated than that."

Anna just sobbed as Del put him in the ground. Del took away Anna's rifle and her pistol. "Meet me at the medical tent later after you cool your head down, we need to talk, face to face. I'm not in the mood of giving you any lecture."

Del then released his sister and he walked away from her, leaving his sister sobbing in the ground. Del wasn't particularly wanting to do that, but he had no choice. A simple argument had turned into a fist fight and Del wouldn't want to bother fighting his own sister.
