Modern Weapon Summoning System

Chapter 50 - Hostile!

"Cassandra, get down!!!" Del shouted before he pulled the trigger of his M240.

"WHAT???" Cassandra just shouted back.

"JUST DO IT!"

Cassandra laid herself down on the ground. If this were a normal situation, it was like asking herself to get killed. However, there was no normal situation when she was with Del. Everything followed whatever Del had in mind whether it made sense or not.

Del pulled the trigger of his machine gun, "Get some!!!" 7.62 rounds were flying in the direction of the adventurer's camp. Del aimed at everyone's leg.

A bounty hunter cast a spell at Cassandra, but Del shot him in the legs first before he could do so, "WHAT THE HELL???" He fell to the ground afterward with blood coming out of his legs.

Del continued firing his machine gun. After every trigger pull, one bounty hunter fell into the ground with their legs usually separated from their body.

"Shit! [Aldorah Shield]!" A bounty hunter stood up from the ground and Del fired his machine gun accurately at the bounty hunter that erected his shield.

The shield resisted the 7.62 rounds. Every bullet bounced off from that bounty hunter. Del continued firing his M240 at that bandit. It only made him wonder, "What the hell is this dude made of?" He reacted by using something on his arsenal "[Offensive Spell: Fireball]"

The bounty hunter flinched as the heat of the fireball hit him in the face. Del took that window to fire another fireball at the bounty hunter. The bounty hunter flinched again.

"CASSANDRA! I NEED A LITTLE HELP HERE!" Del shouted because his machine gun had run out of ammunition.

Cassandra stood up from the ground, "[Precise Strike Mode: Piercing Spear]!" Cassandra shouted as she threw an ice spear in the direction of the bounty hunter.

The bounty hunter noticed that, and he countered the ice spear with his shield. However, little did he know, it was his last mistake as Del finished reloading his machine gun.

"Get some!!!" Del pulled the trigger of his machine gun and it pumped the body filled with bullets.

The shield only protected the bounty hunter from one direction, but not two. The 7.62 rounds easily destroyed the body of that bounty hunter. It only left a gruesome mess in the snow.

The rest of the bounty hunters started running for no reason. Maybe they realized that Del just killed the strongest member in that bounty hunter team.

Cassandra didn't let them escape the area, "[Area Strike Mode: Glacier Downfall]!"

The cloud on top of them thickened in seconds. Del didn't know what the spell would do, but he ran from that area, "Wolfie, run!!!" He picked up the M240 from the ground and he ran away from Cassandra.

Suddenly, ice spikes were raining from the sky above. Del's reaction was right, he needed to be running from that area or ice spikes would kill him. Those Ince spikes were as big as Wolfie.

"[Defensive Spell: Material Field]" Del added an energy shield on his body as prevention in case one of the ice spikes fell to him.

The bounty hunters that were running were impaled by the ice spikes that came from the sky. Blood was spraying out from their bodies, turning the snow into red shaved ice. Pieces of bodies were scattered in that area.

"Damn, it looks as if a wolf just came by and munched them all," Wolfie commented.

"Cassandra is scary..." Del mumbled. He knew that in no way a protective gear could deflect that kind of thing.

Del walked to the adventurer's camp. There might be a survivor that he could interrogate, but well, in the mess that both of them just made, it was quite hard to determine if there was a survivor.

There was one way that could describe what happened. The snow land around the camp looked like shaved ice with red syrup and the body pieces were the toppings of the shaved ice. It was rather grotesque.

The only normality in that camp was the tent and the campfire that all had been stained with blood. Other than that, it was all gory. "Damn, I don't think we leave any survivor," Del commented on the situation.

"Are you sure?" Cassandra walked to him.

"I'm very sure about it, look around us, it's only dead bodies around us," Del commented, but he suddenly heard a groan from afar, "Well, if you can pull a miracle, I think we have a survivor."

"Yeah, I heard the groan as well, let's ask him then kill him," she said after she cleaned her clothes.

Del would doubt that Cassandra was a doctor the moment he said that, nevertheless, it was another world, maybe that kind of standard where a doctor was the jewel of humanity didn't really apply in this kind of situation, "Sounds… alright. Let's go."

Del approached the dying man. It was the same man that Del shot in the feet until his legs got separated from his body. He was barely alive, but well, he was still conscious. Maybe Cassandra could pull her own magic to make sure that he could answer their question.

Cassandra grabbed the dying man by the head, "Hey, where's your target?"

"Go to hell!" he replied.

"I need to find your target, where are they?" Cassandra asked.

"Fuck you!"

"Jeez, mate, if you want to make your last minute a little useful, you better told me."

"I ain't going to tell ya."

Del shot the man in the head with his pistol. "Forget it, he won't even talk. There should be something in his tent. I know that bounty hunters are usually provided with the description of their target."

Cassandra just nodded.

Both of them walked to the camp of the bounty hunters. There were two tents at that camp site. Del could check one and Cassandra could check the other, "I'll check the one on the right, you can check the one on the left."

"Sure," Cassandra replied before she entered one of the tents.

Del opened the flap of one of the tents. He immediately felt the warmness from the small furnace in that tent. There were three sleeping bags in that tent. A stack of paper was placed right beside one of the sleeping bags.

Del approached that stack of paper, "Damn, they must have looked for information about this target for a very long time. Who the hell is the person whom they are looking for, anyway?"

Del searched through the stack of paper. At first, he found the documents were about some kind of royal family and their background. The royal family was none other than the Dela Rose family. Del gulped as he read the documents, paper by paper.

"Even they have the schedule when she's taking a bath???" Del shuddered.

Del just found out how many efforts these bounty hunters were putting just to track the woman down. Del hadn't found out who the woman was, but he really had the feeling that this was the same woman the underpaid him for his protection.

He was sure that this was the same woman that was hunted by more than twenty bounty hunters at once and still lived to tell the tale. He was sure that this was the same woman that gave Del a house.

Del opened another paper, there was a hand-drawn picture of a woman, a very familiar woman. The woman was none other than Lize Reed. Del wasn't surprised one bit. Still, even after killing Firma, why bounty hunters were hunting her down?

Someone opened the flap of the tent, Del aimed his pistol at the entrance but he lowered it immediately, it was Cassandra, "Do you find anything? The other tent is only filled with food."

"Not yet, but the target is the same person whom I escorted some times ago," Del gave Cassandra the paper with the picture of Lize.

"Ah, who is this woman?"

"This woman is Lize Reed. She's the illegitimate daughter of Count Dela Rose. As a result, most of her siblings want her to be dead," Del said.

"I… don't know."

"That's fine, I don't know why either. Anyway, let's search these documents."

Del continued searching the documents. It turned out that Lize was indeed hiding in Aldea mountain after the recent fiasco with Firma Dela Rose. Well, Del was the one who killed her anyway, it looked like her own siblings wanted revenge.

Del finally found something useful, it was a map with a large red circle on it. It seemed to mark a general area located right near where Cole was staying. "Wait, a general area where Cole is staying???" Del shuddered.

He immediately ran with the map in his hand. Casandra was confused at first, but she followed Del from behind. Wolfie also ran with Del. Cassandra didn't have any idea why would Del suddenly run since she didn't read the map, "Why the hell are we running?"

"Cole's in trouble!!!"
