Modern Weapon Summoning System

Chapter 42 - Upgrading G3, Buying M240

"Wait, wait, I can pay you, just let me live," Firma rose her hands in the air.

Del had an interest in that counter-proposal, "How much? Your head is quite expensive, you know? If you can counter the offer that the guild building gives to me, I'd rather kill you here and now."

With the blood still flowing on his face, Del actually didn't have any intention of leaving Firma alive, but the money enticed him. He just wanted to delay Firma's death, not preventing it. After all, he still had fought many bounty hunters that Firma sent after Lize.

"Wait, I can give you gold, a lot of gold," Firma said.

"HOW MUCH?" Del shouted.

"Five white gold coins. Please, let me go," Firma said.

A white gold coin equal to one hundred gold coins, but it was quite rare. However, it was still a good amount of money to be exchanged with Pidma. It was still 50,000$ and it was still a good amount of money.

"Where's the money?" Del questioned.

"Here, here," Firma grabbed five white coins from inside of her pocket. She trembled as she gave Del the coins. However, the moment Del got the coins, he did what had to be done.

"Say good night," Del pulled the trigger of his G3 and he blew the Firma's head.

Del further searched the dead body to search for any loot. There was another white gold coin inside of her pocket. Del didn't feel the need to loot the house any further. The white gold coins were enough and there was no doubt that Lize also wanted to loot her own sister's estate as her spoils of war.

"C'mon, Cole, let's get out here," Del walked out of the room.

"You don't want to loot the estate?" Cole asked.

"Nah, the guards will search the estate soon. We are better off getting out this estate soon," Del held the scratches on his face that started to hurt.

"Ah yes, your face is bleeding, do you need me to take care of it?" Cole asked.

"Healing spell?" Del asked.

"Yeah, but we have to wash the wound first in case there is a chirp of woods or any fragmentation left in that wound so the wound can heal completely," Cole said.

"I understand, so the healing spell is not as miraculous as I previously expect, huh?" Del held his wound firmly to stop the continuous bleeding.

"Yeah," Cole said.

Both of them left the estate. Del walked in the direction of Captain Belgram. Belgram was holding his mustache and he looked surprised when he saw Cole and Del returned from the estate alive.

He smiled, "It looks like I have underestimated you both. I apologize for that, I can't believe you manage to penetrate that estate that easily and that quickly. Usually, it takes more than one hour just to deal with one of the archers with another archer."

Del smugged, "Well, that's why we're taking the quest."

"Haha, right, about the reward," Belgram grabbed a pouch of coins from his waist bag, "This is the reward, one hundred gold coins. I hope there is enough for you."

Del got the pouch and he put it inside of his pocket, "Thanks for the payment. I really appreciate it."

"No problem," Belgram smiled.

"I will have to go, thanks," Del said.

======================================================

Back in his home, Cole had patched Del up by using his own healing spell. Del decided that an upgrade to his rifle was not enough. His armor might be enough for now, and he felt that he had leveled up and better hardware should be available.

Del was sitting on his couch while looking at his status plate. He wondered whether killing that amount of people should level him up enough until he hit level 30. Well, he got better than that. He hit level 31.

"Damn, I level up quite a lot, not to mention that I also have a lot of money now, hahaha," Del said.

[Congratulation Del, you have reached tech level 4 now. That's fantastic]

"Thanks, well, I think I can buy some upgrade to my G3, right?" Del asked.

[Yup, I think there are some upgrades though I have to admit that there's not much customization since your G3 is not even modular]

"Define modular," Del asked.

[Picattiny rail, the gizmos. You know, the only available modification for you is a scope, a muzzle brake, a custom stock, and an extended magazine. Other than that, you need to reach tech level 6 to unlock that]

"Ok, I see. Well, I want every single thing that you mentioned as an attachment then," Del said.

[Ok. Your weapon will be unavailable for twenty-four hours, is that ok?]

"I think that's not even a big deal, besides, I can buy a new weapon, right?" Del asked.

[Good point. Do you want to throw your old weapon out, Del?]

"Throwing out, as in disposing them?" Del asked.

[Yes]

"Well, sure, I think I'll also upgrade my weaponry to something easier to modernize, what do you think, Pidma?" Del asked.

[It's a good idea, may I suggest, the M240?]

"Ah yes, that's quite a magnificent choice," Del commented.

[Alright, do you want to attach something to this weapon so you don't have to wait for a day?]

"Sure, well, I want a muzzle brake, and a scope," Del said.

[Error. User's Tech Level Is Not Adequate For ATTACHMENT: M240 Picatinny Dust Cover]

"Damn, alright, just the muzzle brake then? Does the M240 come with bipod like the MG-42?" Del asked.

[Yup]

"What's the capacity of the ammo box for M240? 50 rounds?"

[Yup, but you can upgrade it later.]

"Can I upgrade it now?" Del asked.

[Sure, but it will cost some extra. What option do you want, 100 rounds, 150 rounds, or 200 rounds?]

"I want the 200 round magazine, of course," Del said.

[Do you need an additional magazine?]

"Yup."

[How many?]

"Three additional magazines," Del said.

[What kind of ammo do you want?]

"I want 800 rounds FMJ."

[Are you sure?]

"I'm very sure," Del said.

[Calculating Purchase…. 8,600$. Are you sure you want to purchase it?]

Del thought for a while, he was indeed paying a lot of money for just a machine gun with its ammunition included. But thinking about it again, unlike the MG-42, M240 could easily be modernized. Basically, it was a one-time purchase and Del wouldn't regret it in the future.

"Sure."

[Transaction Confirmed. Remaining Balance: 83502.5$]

An M240 machine gun appeared on top of the coach. The black long gun would be replacing the MG-42 that Del had been using for a long enough time. The machine gun was rather… modern in comparison to the MG-42.

Some of the furniture of the gun itself was made from polymer instead of the usual wood or metal. The gun itself looked just as same as the one that Del always saw on the internet. There was also a big can of ammunition right below the gun itself. Maybe the appearance of the ammo box was similar to that of a regular ammo can but it was covered in fabric and modified so it could attach to the bottom of the gun itself. A two-point sling was also attached to the gun.

Del held the machine gun with both of his hands, "Oh boy, this is quite heavier than the MG-42. It's still manageable though," Del aimed the M240 from his shoulder.

"Holy… is that another gun? That's quite big, isn't it?" Cole commented.

"Yup," Del put the gun a little bit down, "This is called the M240. This is another machine gun."

"Machine gun? Hmm, I remember the last thing went brrrrrrrr, does this one do the same thing?"

"Yup, more or less," Del nodded.

"Do you want to test that thing out again?" Cole asked.

"Maybe, but not now, some of the operating mechanics of this thing need to be learned first. Still, I probably will test this thing tomorrow morning," Del said.

"I see," Cole nodded.

There was also one more thing that Del wanted to get from Cole. He wanted to know the magic application. It was the thing that he was currently really lacking besides his ability in close-quarter combat.

"Could you teach me magic tomorrow, Cole?" Del asked.

"I'll do anything for you, friend," Cole said.

"Thanks."
