Magical Academy: Rise of the Supreme Magic Craftsman

Chapter 15 - Mana Artifact

The process of forging equipment consumed a lot of time so Wallace was prepared to complete his forging for the whole day. He arrived here in the Academy early in the morning and even brought food as he planned to stay here for a while from the start.

Wallace placed other auxiliary mana arrays in the Artifact Forging Box. He then brought out the materials he received from his parent.

Allum grey stone, frozen nephrite shard, a very small piece of Jax stone. and assorted metals. There was no readied 4th gen magic structure crystal and Wallace still had to make his own after processing the materials.

He placed the materials one by one except the jax stone in the artifact forging box while activating its material molding array placed. At the same time, Wallace poured mana in his Necklace of Clarity. His eyes had a tinge of blue light and he immediately directed his vision on the material and saw all its impurities.

Wallace was glad about having this necklace as he could assure himself that he could make the best possible equipment for his very first mana artifact.

Using the Material Moulding, Material Detoxification and Material Disjunction Array placed, he removed all impurities or unnecessary components he found in the materials using his necklace's ability, Glimpse of the Mind.

The ability only lasted for 5 minutes. So he had to be quick and precise in his every action.

Whew~

"Done! Exactly 5 minutes... that was tough. Luckily, the number of impurities was small." Wallace finally said as he completed the first part. Without the boost in concentration that the necklace had given him, he would have taken more time accomplishing this task.

He wiped his accumulating sweat on his forehead before continuing. He checked the materials which were now in the best condition and started making the shape of the device.

After 4 hours of fiddling with the material, he was able to create a silver sphere with a 4 inch radius out of the materials he used. He took it out from the forging box and checked if it worked.

He poured a little bit of mana on the surface of the sphere and he heard some gears operating inside. A moment after he did this, the sphere split open by about 2 cm from its centre but it was still being supported by a black metal inside. Nothing happened after that, since no magic structure was placed in the device yet.

Wallace placed it back in the forging box after placing the jax stone inside the sphere and took out an empty magic structure crystal. Again, this crystal was obtained through the courtesy of his generous parents.

He spent another 2 hours creating a 4th gen magic structure on this crystal. His classmates would definitely be horrified if they learnt about this. After all, just infusing this 4th gen magic structure crystal into an equipment would already take about 2 hours of their time. But Wallace actually created one from scratch, the difficulty of this was very huge.

Infusing was just pouring or passing the readied magic structure to an artifact so it normally took less time but constructing a magic structure should consume more time. It meant that Wallace, who spent the same time constructing a 4th gen magic structure than they would normally take to infuse it, had a very remarkable skill.

After Wallace confirmed that there was no problem with the crystal, he rested for a few minutes and started the infusion process of the 4th gen artifact. He was already quite familiar with this and after the 4 orbs of light appeared, he spent no more than 20 minutes to infuse all the orbs into the silver sphere inside the forging box.

"Great, I'm almost there."

Wallace exclaimed as he checked his watch when he felt his hunger after his work. It was already lunchtime and he had not eaten yet. He brought out his lunch that he had purchased in a convenience store. He ate for about 15 minutes and checked his planned magic structure on his mobile device. The program or arrangement of the magic structure was all prepared and Wallace just had to use this plan to create his 5th gen magic structure.

Creating a 5th gen magic structure would normally take a lot of time. Though it depended on the complexity of the structure and the skills of the magician.

Wallace readied himself as he was about to start creating the structure. He placed another empty magic structure crystal on the lid of the forging box to start the construction process.

He took a deep breath and started pouring mana in the box. Wallace had consumed 3 memory crystal. The first was Mavis Prayer, a support type magic structure which enhanced the performance of other magic pathway. This was a very complex structure as it needed to be overlayed on existing 5th gen magic structure.

The second memory crystal he had was Howling Tempest. A destructive elemental pathway.

The last magic crystal that he consumed was Magic Jammer. Yes, Wallace had already learnt about this when he was in his parents' house. That was why when he saw the cloaked guy using the magic jammer, he was aware that it was a variant from the perfected version of the magic structure.

After consuming the 3 memory crystals, he created his plan about the possible magic structure or mana artifact that would allow him to rise. He had a lot in his mind due to having memory and knowledge of an advanced technology. He carefully selected the best magic structure he could create.

With that in mind, Wallace spent another gruelling 5 hours to create the magic structure. His expression of delight could not be hidden after completing it. He checked again the crystal for a while to see if there was any error or thing he missed but it was perfect. No issue occurred during the construction of the magic structure in the crystal.

Another hour was spent infusing the magic structure crystal to the jax stone that was placed inside the silver sphere. Apparently, the 5th gen magic structure he created could only be placed in the jax stone. He made it to be like that.

Wallace slumped on the floor as he successfully created his very first mana artifact.

He remembered that when he was in his parent's house. It took him a day of thinking to select the most appropriate magic structure he should create. Something that could not be ignored, not by the school nor the government. Something that would propel his status so he would have a lot of opportunities in the future. It was then that he thought of something that he believed he could make.

He called it "Magic Jammer Canceller".
