Magical Academy: Rise of the Supreme Magic Craftsman

Chapter 11 - Student Council’s Test

Wallace and Katherine entered the Student Council's Office and saw Aaron at the center of the long table having a cup of tea while checking some data on his laptop.

There he saw 4 other students who were busy doing some paperwork. Only one of them bothered to look at the two newly entered students.

"Hey, Jenny. This is Wallace that I've mentioned a while ago. Are you guys still busy?"

Katherine seemed to be familiar with the other girl.

"No, we're actually done and just looking for something. Nothing important." Jenny answered as she looked at Aaron who was still busying himself.

Wallace was just silent as they chatted. Aaron and the others seemed to have finished whatever they were doing and looked at Wallace.

"Thank you for bringing him here cousin."

"No problem. I'll leave him to you guys. Bye Bye!" Katherine bade her farewell as she left Wallace in the hands of the student council.

"Hi there Wallace. I'm the student council president Aaron Schmidt. You can just call me Aaron. This is Jenny, our secretary. Wesley, our accounting officer. Garry and Humphrey our ethics officers."

Wallace had a quick look at each of them as they nodded at him. He was actually more curious about the last two. It was said that only those with highly rated combat skills were capable of being an ethics officer. He couldn't think too much about them though as he was still conversing with the president.

"Do you know why are you here?"

"Well, I was told by Katherine that you need someone from our course to be a representative or member of the student council. But I'm not sure how'd you assess my qualifications for the seat. Will you be doing some tests?"

"It's good that you are expecting that there is still a need for a test." Aaron smiled after Wallace spoke and was quite delighted to know that he seemed to be prepared.

"The TMAC that will happen in a few months will be very important for us, so what we really need is a reliable Magic Technician. I need someone who can take a lead for the Artifact Forging section in the competition."

Magic Technician was what students aspiring to be a licensed Magic Engineer were called.

"Uhm. I understand."

"Good. For us to check your skills, we just need you to analyze something and give your opinion."

Wallace was actually quite surprised hearing this. After all, he expected to be tested on his forging skills or something like magic structuring and related things about being a magic technician. His interest in this rose up as he waited for the test.

"We'll show you a battle between two combat magicians. Observe it carefully."

Aaron arranged something on his laptop and gave it to Wallace.

"The battle will only last for about 5 minutes. Tell me once you're done watching"

Wallace was then shown a recording of a standoff between two men. The first man was wearing a military suit and had drawn his gun-like mana artifact. The other was wearing a blue cloak covering his body. Due to the angle of the video, he was unable to identify both of the men.

As time passed, it seemed like the two men were done probing each other and the military guy started to pour mana in his artifact and pulled its trigger. An explosion of light surged from his artifact, it not only blinded people looking at it but a projectile also quickly approached the cloaked man that seemed to be stunned by the blinding light.

The projectile made of mana neared the cloaked man but it just suddenly disappeared like a bubble. The cloaked man walked slowly to the military guy as the other tried to shoot him with all he got. He exhausted all the offensive skills he had but was unable to give any damage to the cloaked man. Wallace saw a variety of elemental attacks created by the military guy, Water Serpent Gaze, Molten Dragon's Roar, Wind Blade IV, and other familiar skills were thrown.

He was amazed by the abundant mana pool of this guy but even more surprised by this cloaked guy that for some reason, he looked like an invincible person who was not being affected by any skills he received.

It seemed that the cloaked man had enough of his opponent and attacked for the first time. He raised his hand and pointed his index finger at his opponent. Wallace saw the cloaked man's ring lit up then the military guy received the attack and was suddenly burned. His response was quick as he was able to use a water ability of his mana artifact and was able to protect himself. Also this time, the military guy realized the difference between their ability and forcefully escaped instead.

The recording ended after the military guy was able to get away from the cloaked man by using all the tricks and skills he had. It was too bad that there were no sounds in the recording but it didn't lessen the feeling of intensity of the fight and Wallace could clearly feel how dangerous the battle the two men fought.

"Hmm. That cloaked guy..." Wallace muttered as he was thinking of something.

"Are you done watching the video?" Jenny asked.

"Yes. So as I was saying... that cloaked guy, who is he?"

"A master. You will know someday." Jenny smiled, she did not really answer and teased him.

"Since you're done watching. What did you notice on the battle?" Aaron confirmed that Wallace was done watching and asked him a question.

The destructiveness of the skills that had been released by the military guy was actually scary if some other magician was on the receiving end instead. The battle was actually quite simple, one guy throwing skill and another guy receiving all of it but without any damage.

"For the military guy, I noticed that he uses six mana artifacts at the same time. He is definitely not some unknown magician."

Unfortunately, Wallace wasn't familiar with any powerful magician and more knowledgeable on famous Magic Engineer from past to present. He further explained his observation.

"That cloaked man. He was definitely using Magic Jammer."
