Lucifer's Descendant System

Chapter 49 Burger

Removing the HyperSense tiara from his head, Noah got up from the bed slowly to avoid having a headache because of the sudden movement after lying so long, while still maintaining a satisfied expression on his face. Being able to fight someone to the death but without fear of actually dying was something that Noah hadn't experienced before, and now that he did, he could say for sure that it was incredible!

After meeting that little pig, Noah felt quite content to battle him. He knew that piglet was a high-ranked Blessed because of how powerful he was, both speaking in terms of his Blessing which made him several times faster and also the reaction speed of his opponent from the combat experience he possessed.

Trying to attack the little pig from different angles and being frustrated that he could always react in time and defend himself with his hoofed feet was something that Noah has so far been unable to accept. After killing the pig the first time by catching him off guard, regardless of what Noah did, the pig always managed to react in time, and after a long battle, he was able to exploit some openings that Noah unconsciously left with the great speed the piglet possessed.

The feeling of dying in the beginning was completely strange for Noah, but after the third time the pig killed him, he got used to the feeling and started to absorb everything he had done wrong and try to improve those points so as not to die again from the same mistake. Apparently this worked, since at the end of the match, the last battle in which the two fought each other was much longer than the first, which meant that Noah had corrected some minor mistakes that he had in the beginning as the match went on.

Even though he lost the game and never managed to kill the piggy again after that first time, Noah was not angry or disappointed in himself for it. He had started playing today, and he knew that there were good players out there.

"If I had known about this game before, I would certainly have improved a lot more in that time. It is a pity... but the lost time cannot be made up, only made up for," Noah said to himself, alone in the room.

Looking at his watch, he saw that it was after 9 pm. He had spent a lot of time playing. On his cell phone there were countless messages from Carlos, desperate for them to play together, but Noah hadn't seen them because he was playing. After telling his friend that he liked the game and promising that they would play together later, Noah was able to hang up and finally rest.

The last couple days had been very tiring for him. After his Blessing woke up yesterday, today he had already gone to a Rank E Fortress, reached lvl 02 in his system, unlocked another skill, got a blessed weapon, started playing Valorwatch, and learned a lot of new things about himself and his own skill in Valorwatch.

Speaking of Valorwatch, it was not just Noah who was satisfied with the battle he had today against PigMan; the little pig was also very satisfied with the confrontation he had with the devil.

- Did you add him? -

Reading the chat message, PigMan responded. "Yes, he added me to his friends list; his name is Lucifer. Unfortunately, we were unable to play any more games together after that battle."

At this point, he was sitting on a rock in the Rank F lobby. It had been a few hours since he had played both games against Noah, and unfortunately, they could not play any games against each other. Since he no longer had that strange devil to be able to battle with, he had to go back to limiting himself to a Rank F level of strength in almost every game - the exception being only matches where he found others Blessed with higher rank in secondary accounts. Unfortunately, the strength rank of these players was only between D and C, which for PigMan was a bit dull.

When he fought the devil, or rather, Lucifer, he released a Rank B force and yet he was being pressured by that player. It was strange, because he knew that the player's Blessing did not have such a high rank in terms of strength, since it was very noticeable by the devil's agility that it was not as high as the higher ranks, but his Blessing managed to be so practical in a battle that even PigMan felt a little envious.

'If I had a Blessing as practical as that, with my Blessing of speed I would be invincible,' he thought.

- Are you going to play together? -

- Why don't you ask him to play? -

- Does he also live stream? -

- Does anyone know his live stream? -

Since he fought Lucifer, the live chat was only talking about him. Even the live theme that was 'From Rank F to Rank A', ended up becoming 'Will he ever find the devil again?' because of how many viewers talked about it.

"This will still end up becoming a meme, haha." PigMan laughed as he saw everything that was happening. "Although, it would be interesting if he did start broadcasting his games..."

Noah clearly didn't know what was going on: he had no idea that so many people were talking about him, that these people were interested in him, let alone that there were people willing to watch him play. At that time, he was making himself a sandwich with the bread he bought before he came home.

'I haven't eaten a decent meal with meat in a long time.'

One thing he was very proud of was what he had learned from his mother when it came to cooking. She always said that good meat always needed at least a little garlic and pepper in addition to salt to achieve maximum flavor.

She said she hated going to restaurants where the meat was seasoned with only salt. According to her words, it was as if people were taking a beautiful diamond, and instead of polishing it to be as shiny and translucent as possible, they just rubbed it on their clothes to get the dust out. It was still a diamond, but they were not making the most out of that diamond. It was the same with the meat being well seasoned or just having a little salt; it was still very tasty but far from what a good seasoned meat could be.

Having to live with just enough to not starve or have stunted muscles, Noah didn't have the luxury of eating meat like he did today. Today, he took a big handful of ground meat, seasoned it and started to form big hamburgers, which would be his meals for the next few days.

'Maggy loves hamburgers… Maybe I could bring her a little tomorrow?'

As Noah had gone to Fortresses two days in a row, he decided that tomorrow he would not go to one again. He planned on resting and spending time with his little sister at the hospital. This was not to say that he was going to stop going to Fortresses, since they were the things which were going to provide him with money in addition to progression in his system as well, but he also would not let the Fortresses take over his entire life.

After assembling the large hamburgers with the bread he bought, Noah took a big bite and was delighted with the meat he missed so much. It was a strange sensation, but one he truly loved. Feeling the tender flesh falling apart in his mouth, spilling the great amount of flavor and juiciness on his taste buds, was something that Noah knew very well how to appreciate.

'My mother always said that the easiest way to win a woman was through the stomach and that men who cook would have the women they want.'

Before, he could not understand this statement, but now, he was sure that was true. He felt so good about eating such delicious food that he could imagine how nice it would be to have someone to cook for him like this every day.

'Unfortunately this is a long way off for me. Perhaps a romance might be a good thing to develop in the future, but for now, I have my top priorities, and getting a woman is definitely not one of them.'

Noah was sure he would only get a woman when he was at least 30 years old, but he had no idea how wrong his thinking was, especially how close it really was to change...
