CHAPTER 39

Hearing her question, Jade was left speechless.

That was true, she did not know who he was or what his name was as well.

All she knew was that he was the one who saved her four times in a row.

'Arrgh? Can he be any more annoying than this?' Jade thought as she raked her brain for any memories where his name may have been mentioned before.

"Hey, Jade!" Macy called on her friend, startling her a bit.

"Yes?" Her voice became even lower than before. The effect of the drugs was still not  over.

"Have you heard of him before?"

"I…" And that was the last thing she said and she fell back to sleep.

Macy shook her head looking at her friend. She sure could give someone a heart attack.

She decided to leave Jade to rest and go get some answers from the two handsome guys outside the room.

As soon as she stepped outside, she noticed that they were no longer there. "What the… where did these two guys run off to?"

She asked a nurse and the receptionist about them and that was when she was told they had left along with the man that brought her friend in.

She was also informed that he covered the hospital bill before he left and asked that she should not be discharged till she was perfectly fine.

Macy was surprised by the turn of events. "So they weren't like those jerks after all. Thank goodness. But leaving without saying a word still, aish! How am I going to give my thanks now?"

With no lead at all, she began to think of any way to get their contacts or their names to track them down.

She turned to the receptionist and looked at her with a pure smile on her face but to the lady at the reception, that only came off as weird.

"Please, did the man in question have a name? Did he leave a contact behind to reach him?"

"I am sorry, but that should be confidential ma'am."

"I know. It is just that, I would like to thank him for helping my friend out. At least can I know his name?" Macy tried her luck again.

"Alright, but he did not leave much behind."

"What do you mean?"

"He only wrote Xan as his name with no contact info whatsoever."

"Okay, thanks."

With that, Macy took herself and went back to wait in the room with Jade.

In the car on their way home, all three guys sat at the passenger's seat and remained silent as they took glances of each other sometimes or got busy with other things.

They all had different thoughts running through their mind but no one voiced out what they were thinking.

On one hand, Xander had his mind occupied with Jade's well being and how he was going to deal with the idiot that had drugged her.

To him, merely giving him a beating was not good enough, he needed to be taught a real lesson.

While Xander was plotting what to do in his mind, Sky's gaze washed over him and wondered how much his friend has changed since he met this girl.

Jay on the other hand was busy thinking about the mysterious cute friend of Jade who he would have loved to ask out if  Xander had not made them leave.

Someone had to break the silence as it was getting boring inside the car. Apparently, that someone became Sky.

"Why did you leave without her seeing you?" Sky asked.

"It is nothing. It is not the time for that. She will see me another day anyway," Xander replied.

"You are falling hard for her, Xan. Is she worth it?"

Xander whipped his head to face Sky and shot him a sharp cold gaze. "She is every bit worth it and more."

"You do not know her."

"She will be mine nonetheless."

"Fine. Whatever you say."

"But you don't know where she is staying now." Jay chipped in, trying to get the conversation back on track.

"I asked someone to stake out and follow her when they leave."

"Sly as ever," Jay commented while shaking his head. "Tsk, so what will you do? Show up in front of her house with a bouquet?"

"Hmm, not a bad idea."

"Xan!"

"Time for you to get down."

"What?"

The car came to an abrupt stop in front of the gates of a big mansion and Jay looked at the window to see they had arrived at his house with his car parked in front of the building.

"Remind me again why I agreed to follow you instead of riding in my own car?"

"You miss me," Xander replied, a small trace of a smile on his lips.

"You wish. Good night guys. Try not to eat each other on your way home."

Jay opened the door and got out then closed it and bade them goodbye. For Sky's sake, he hoped he would not say anything to provoke Xander else… It was better he didn't.
