Kiss Me Not

Chapter 221 - Tough Time

The Prime Minister's fainting went viral all over the internet. People from Country B sympathized saying that the Prime Minister is going through tough times as it has not even been a week since he lost his son, add to it his duties as a Prime Minister.

There were a lot of opinions on who would take over his seat for now. Usually, it was the Royal family who would appoint someone to take over. During such talks, Olivia's name kept surfacing, there were comments that suggested she could take over her father's role while he was recuperating as she was very capable. They have witnessed how Olivia has helped a lot of people even without being in the position unlike the future King, Gavin, who was simply introduced to them so suddenly.

Olivia's father was rushed to a hospital near Derhan Palace which was Lewis Hospital. The media flocked the hospital as they tried to get a scope on the condition of the Prime Minister.

Will arrived at the site and made sure that their security team handled the media and that the privacy of the hospital and the patients was upheld.

Meanwhile, inside the hospital, the Prime Minister was given top priority and the doctors made sure to do all the tests necessary. Olivia and her mother waited outside the ICU where Greg was being monitored.. The director of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery came out to discuss the Prime Minister's condition with his family.

"We needed to operate on him as soon as possible. He has blocked coronary arteries that must be addressed as soon as possible to prevent a fatal heart attack," The doctor stated. He showed further details on his tablet to Olivia and her mother to explain the Prime Minister's condition and inform them how the surgery would go and how it would help Olivia's father.

Olivia looked at the doctor and firmly said, "Do what is needed to save my father, doctor. We don't want to lose another member of our family."

She left her mother to take care of her father because she came to know that Will and the Royal family security team were helping block the media and bystanders hindering their privacy.

She saw Will sitting on a chair not far from her area. She walked towards him and sat a seat apart from him.

"I appreciate the efforts, Will but as I've said before, we prefer not to see nor accept any help from the Royal family so please take all Gavin's men out of here. We can manage on our own," Olivia commented in a calm tone.

Her attention was caught by the television. It was her answering a reporter before… She and her sharp words that she would be keeping an eye on Gavin and keenly watch his work as the new King. She could hear Will sighing.

"I only hope you can find forgiveness for yourself Olivia. That the incident of Oliver won't lead you to a path where you will destroy yourself for revenge. I know we are at fault and we are really sorry. None of us wanted that to happen. We did our best and we failed… We are truly sorry for failing."

"I am really worried about you. Please know that it's not your fault Olivia. You just wanted to save Oliver. None of us expected something like this to happen, that they would kill Oliver…"

Will heard Olivia scoff. This was what he was scared of… It seemed like Olivia had suddenly changed to someone that he could no longer recognize. The sweet bubbly and joyful Olivia was now gone. He did not even see her smile again. She always loved to smile in the past but now she had a serious and blank expression on her face instead.

Will heard the reporter ask her about whether or not Olivia would replace her father as Prime Minister.

Olivia stood up from her seat and said, "I will give you five minutes Will. Remove your King's men from here if you do not want me to spurt anything negative towards your Royal blood who are all incapable. We don't want your help nor sympathy. It's better we part our ways before any of my family suffers again for having a good connection with the Wilhelm's or their trusted people like you…"

Will gulped but did not move from his seat. He watched Olivia leave and felt a wave of embarrassment and pain wash over him at the same time. It was him who Olivia should hate because he was the one who headed the rescue operation and not Gavin. Olivia was blaming all the members of the Royal family and it was not right. She was too clouded with hate, anger, and revenge.

Meanwhile, Olivia was stopped in her tracks when a reporter who had obviously disguised herself to enter the hospital cornered her in the hallway.

"Miss Olivia, please give us your comments on the condition of the Prime Minister."

Olivia frowned in annoyance but still answered, "We will release a statement about it along with the doctor treating him so please wait for it. I have to go and be with my father right now so excuse me…"

She continued walking while the reporter with her cameraman followed her.

"Just one more question, Miss Olivia! Please tell us your opinion about the people requesting you should take over your father's role as Prime Minister instead…"

Olivia suddenly stopped, causing the reporter to almost bump into Olivia's back.

Olivia turned around and said, "If the people want me then I am honored and will be happy to serve them with all my heart. But please don't forget, that it is only the King who has the power to appoint who he wants to for that position."

Olivia sighed and added, "Please, me and my family really need some privacy right now. It's a tough time for our family and we would like to focus on my father. I hope all of you can understand this and leave us alone for a while. We will release a formal statement and all of the media will have due notice about it. Thank you."
