Chapter 454: 9.73 Second Blue Star – Reminiscence I

The couple was teased by Demigod Xie Ye and Ou Ya until dinner. In the end, the two got beat up by the ghost king and were left twitching in the living room. Xue Hua, upon seeing the time, went to the kitchen to make dinner. Xue Yan followed after him, deciding to help with the dinner preparations.

Meanwhile, Demigod Shen Ling had dragged his own partner away and decided to check on the surroundings of the Ancient Palace, Lin Ye come to tag alone especially when he heard that Shen Ling is planning on putting up some defensive barrier around the area. he also planned to leave some alarms in case someone sneak inside the palace without permission.

During dinner, everyone enjoyed a small feast shared with one another. The cooking of Xue Hua has always been top class but since he is lazy, he rarely cooks unless he is in a good mood. During the meal, a seafood and lamb hotspot was prepared for everyone to enjoy. It was Hu Yue, Ou Ya, and Xie Ye who ate the most. They were like scavengers fighting for food. 

Xue Hua and Xie Mo had lost count on how many times Xue Yan, Lin Ye, and Shen Ling had tried to stop these gluttons from choking under the dark gaze of the Ghost King who was serving his wife. They’ve been eating too fast and too much spicy food that they’ve almost mixed it with the mild soup of Xue Hua who doesn’t eat spicy food. Xue Hua had also stopped his husband from flipping over the table in anger numerous times during dinner. 

After enjoying the dinner everyone rested in the living room to digest their meals with tea. There are some who had left to prepare the hot bath for their partners like Xie Mo. Hu Yue also showed the way to the hot springs for those who wanted to take a dip. Xue Hua also wanted to go to the hot spring but unfortunately, his husband is allowed to take a bath with others especially today when he got jealous of others. So he left to prepare a hot spring for the two of them.

In the living room, the only ones remaining are Shen Ling, Lin Ye, and Xue Hua. While the first two are waiting for their partner and friends to bring their clothes over and the latter waiting for his husband to call him for a bath. 

Shen Ling and Lin Ye were observing the elegant-looking young man in front of them. His posture when seating is akin to a young noble. His mannerism shows at his every small gesture when he lightly picks his teacup, taking a sip without a sound and even his relaxing expression is so graceful as if they were in front of a noble being.

Of course! Lin Ye and Shen Ling are not stupid enough to not notice the difference between the innocent Xue Hua they are used to and this Xue Hua who spreads a cold demeanor. His presence is so powerful that it made the two conscious of their actions and even breathing made it hard for them to control, afraid that this serene being in front of them would be offended.

Cling~

A soft cling sound was heard within the silence. It was the sound of Lin Ye’s cup hitting the teacup saucer when he lowered it. A slight crimson shade appeared on his face as he felt two pairs of eyes on him.

Lin Ye apologizes, “Sorry, my bad. My hand shook for a moment.” 

“There is no need to be nervous. Your manners are acceptable enough and don’t need to be perfect. It is not like this is the real ancient times where etiquette is a must. Relax, if you don’t you might get indigestion from being too nervous. You as well, Shen Ling,” said Xue Hua but his eyes this time were silver. In short, Hei Anjing is currently more awake than the young soul of Xue Hua.

Lin Ye and Shen Ling’s thoughts, ‘Silver eyes? Not gold!?’

The two looked at each other and understood something. They instantly clasped their hands in front of them and respectfully greeted the Xue Hua in front of them.

“Greetings to the Senior. Please forgive our rudeness.”

“You do know this lord’s existence?” said Hei Anjing.

Lin Ye spoke, “This humble one had been saved by the seniors when we were young.” 

“If I told you that I didn’t save you that time but did it to remove the original plot of this world would you be angry at me?” asked Hei Anjing with a soft smile on his face. 

Lin Ye was stunned for a moment but responded still respectfully as the first. “No matter what Senior is the benefactor of I and Ou Ya. This little one is still thankful.”

“You both have grown well. The heavens had given you a destiny of tragic end but now… Your life is much better, which is good,” said Hei Anjing. He could remember what happened when he first descended into this.

Recollection of the Past. 

After leaving the system space, Hei Anjing entered the world alone. Without System Yue guiding him, without expecting all others to see him there. Plus, he would be in slumber for most of the time. His soul entered the world’s reincarnation. His first destination when he first arrived in this world is the Underworld. Walking through the world of death he had sneaked in the backdoor and jumped to the pool of reincarnation. He didn’t drink any soup of oblivion.

He then was reborn in the body of Xue Hua. His soul is still the same but this mortal body is unable to cope up with his large soul. He split a fragment of his soul and let it control this vessel, Xue Hua, while the rest had entered the deep sleep. 

Hei Anjing would sometimes wake up as Hei Anjing. It would at first last for just a few seconds then minutes then hours and finally half a day. Xue Hua was only 5 when Xue Yan was replaced by Yun Ming. In the beginning, Xue Hua didn’t recognize him as Hei Anjing’s soul is asleep most of the time. Yun Ming on the other hand had only heard that Lord Hei’s vessel is Xue Hua thanks to Lord An Liang and Hei Jue who helped him open the space portal connected to that star.

Hei Anjing did not wake up even though Xue Hua was being bullied by Lou Lan. He would only come out when Xue Hua’s life was being threatened. The one who keeps protecting Xue Hua in his childhood is Xue Yan who is also Yun Ming’s vessel. This continues even after their mother died.

Xue Yan made sure to hide his younger brother from Lou Lan and the rest of the Lou Clan. These siblings would hide somewhere remote within the territory. Xue Yan would exchange his points with his system guide that was temporarily upgraded to support a memoryless Xue Hua.

One morning they had sneaked into the Clan’s kitchen and stole some food. Xue Yan did the stealing while Xue Hua helped him hold the food. Xur Yan would always pull empty lunch boxes from out of nowhere and fill them with food before escaping. 

Unexpectedly that day when the brothers were about to return to their hiding place, they witnessed the scene of Ou Ya and Lin Ye being bullied by Lou Lan and his evil gang. They were throwing mud on them as if they were live targets for fun. Ou Ya would always almost explode in anger and beat up Lou Lan but was held back by Lin Ye.

HAHAHAHA~ BEGGARS~

Ou Ya who was about to explode in anger, “You bad jerks!” Before he could jump on them Lin Ye would hug his waist and stop him from attacking Lou Lan. 

“S-Stop… Do you want to starve again!?” said Lin Ye. 

Every time Lou Lan got injured by them, the adults would lack them in some warehouse and starve them.

Hearing the word starve made Ou Ya stop his actions. He and Lin Ye haven’t eaten properly for days. They’ve been malnourished since they were born. They just got out of the punishment room 3 days ago and only ate hard bread for 3 days.

“I know already!” said Ou Ya as he turned around intending to ignore the bastards in front of them.

In some corners, Xue Yan and Xue Hua were watching the whole scene. 

Xue Hua said innocently as always, “Gege, it’s Brother Ou Ya and Brother Lin Ye. Let’s call for them.” 

But he was held back by his elder brother and said, “Are they really Lin Ye and Ou Ya? That’s their name?” 

“Gege, what’s wrong? You’ve forgotten about Brother Ou Ya and Brother Lin Ye?” asked Xue Hua. 

Meanwhile, Xue Yan is checking the information with his system. If these two children are indeed the minor villains in the story who were destined to die, making them move away from the plot means the world plot would be destroyed. It would be harder for those who come after them to know which one of these vessels is the one Lord Hei had occupied. 

‘System, are these two children the ones in the plot as minor characters?’

[Upon checking the world’s database, these two boys are indeed the Minor Villains, Lin Ye and Ou Ya who died young after the protagonist shou of the world had plotted against them.]

Seeing that Xue Yan made a decision to save them, he looked at the five-year-old Xue Hua in his arms and whispered, “Hide here for a bit. Brother needs to save them for a while.”

With round unblinking eyes, Xue Hua nods his head like a pecking chicken in front of his elder brother. He looks so adorable and innocent like a little fat bun. Placing the layers of lunch boxes to Xue Hua’s embrace, Xue Yan watches for an opportunity to appear. 

Meanwhile, as Ou Ya turned around, Lin Ye saw that Lou Lan held a stone in his hand and threw it towards Ou Ya’s head. If Ou Ya got hit by such a hard rock in the head then the possibility of him being fatally injured is huge. Seeing quite a fist-size stone flying over towards Ou Ya, Lin Ye pushed his friend to the ground to dodge.

Lin Ye yelled at the same time he pushed Ou Ya, “LOOK OUT!”

“W-What?! UGH!” said Ou Ya as he was pushed to the ground.

Lou Lan clicked his tongue and said, “Tsk! Keep throwing stones at them!”

“Okay!” replied his minions.

Lin Ye covers Ou Ya with his body while Ou Ya tries to cover Lin Ye’s head. Countless stones hit their backs and legs leaving bruises and scratches all over. Xue Yan took this chance to show himself and scolded Lou Lan. If there is someone among the teenagers that Lou Lan is afraid of it was Xue Yan whom he feared.

Xue Yan was never the type to get angry after all. “That’s enough, A’Lan!”

“Eck! It’s the Eldest Young Master!” 

“What is the eldest young master? Only Young Master Lan is the real young master!”

“Oh, ~ is that so? Why don’t you say those words a bit louder then?”

“N-No way… I heard the Elder Young Master’s cultivation is quite high.”

“Young Master Lan, what should we do?”

Lou Lan who was silently shaking seeing his half elder brother’s angry expression could only silently gulp his saliva.

“Nothing can be done. Run!” said Lou Lan as he ran away first before anyone else.

“RUN GUYS!”

These children were the real picture of bullying the weak and fearing the strong. Even Lou Lan, who can bully Xue Hua as they were close to age but towards Xue Yan, his elder brother of his, is still afraid he might get spanked in the end. He had no other choice but to run away.

Once Lou Lan and his minion had disappeared from sight, Xue Yan and Xue Hua had approached Lin Ye and Ou Ya who was covered in mud on the ground. They’ve carefully held the two who was covered in bruises up. Xue Hua had tears pooling within those clear golden eyes as he looked at the two with the pitiful state.

“Argh~ Yanyan? Huahua?” calls Ou Ya while holding his head slightly dizzy.

“There is mud… You look like a dirty puppy… Wuwu~ there is blood. Is it painful Brother Lin Ye, Brother Ou Ya?” asked Xue Hua worriedly, not fearing the mud dirtying his clothes and hands.

Lin Ye and Ou Ya were a bit stunned to see these two young masters treat them this kindly. Though they were abandoned by Master Lou Ming, the fact that they are young masters is still better than them being servants. Seeing Xue Hua cry for them, their hearts soften.

Ou Ya smiled through his pain, “Little Baby… Don’t cry… Brother Ou Ya is okay? Look. Look.”

“Um~”

“Brother Lin Ye? Sniff*” asked Xue Hua.

Lin Ye smiled and helped him wipe the mud. “Brother Lin Ye is fine. The blood is fake. Don’t cry, Xiao Hua.”

“For us, go hide in our place for a bit. Lou Lan wouldn’t stop just because I appear,” said Xue Yan as he helped clean the mud on his little brother’s hands and arms.

Lin Ye and Ou Ya replied, “Okay. Thank you.”

Before carrying the lunchboxes his younger brother left on the ground when he saw Lin Ye and Ou Ya on the ground. Thankfully the food didn’t spill. The other two followed the brothers to hide in their small hiding place.

Xue Yan spoke, “I hope you can look after Hua’er for me. I had a few missions to complete this week and I’m afraid Lou Lan might bully my younger brother.”

“Please leave it to me. You can bring Ou Ya as your assistant. I will look after Xiao Hua while you two are away,” said Lin Ye.

Bewildered Ou Ya, “What mission I’m going to?”

“For our food money?” said Lin Ye.

Ou Ya smiled when he heard the word food and said, “Okay I will go.”

Then the group leaves the area to eat a meal together. The food Xue Yan and Xue Hua stole from the kitchen are enough for all four of them to be full that day.
