Chapter 825: Hero Vs Villain

Chapter 825: Hero Vs Villain

“This is a warning from the City State Nampur Police, criminal Pink Jail, surrender! I repeat. Criminal Pink Jail, surrender!”

A helicopter rushed through a metropolis, using its head beam to highlight a humanoid figure dashing through the streets like a lizard, casually running across the walls of the skyscrapers alongside.

A cop chased after the humanoid figure through car, skidding around a corner before leaping out of the door with expert movements, pulling out his gun to empty the clip in a matter of seconds.

“Kyahahaha! You hypocrites are damn funny as usual. Why don’t you leave behind your stoic faces and have some fun?” The humanoid figure spun around as the bullets slammed into their cape, losing all their momentum to fall like pelted stones.

Boom!

But suddenly, the moment they impacted the ground, it was as if each bullet was a meteor weighing hundreds of kilograms, creating large craters.

“Kyaak!” The pedestrians at the side of the street screamed as they huddled under any shelter nearby, flinching in fear every time a bullet slammed to form a crater.

“Stop shooting!” Suddenly, a firm hand grabbed hold of the cop’s shoulder, stating as he turned around, “Pink Jail can jail any substance within a selected item of her choice. Against her, all projectiles are useless.”

The cop stared at the owner of the firm voice, expressing relief to state in excitement, “Muscle Lantern! You’re here!”

“Can you move?” Muscle Lantern, a man wearing a bright orange suit oozing gaudiness asked with a serious tone, “I’ll reinforce your muscles. Evacuate the people.”

“On it!” The cop nodded, watching Muscle Lantern shine a ray of light on him, causing his muscles to bulge before power oozed into him, causing the cop to feel as if he was on steroids.

He jumped past, noticing that he was on par with an athlete in terms of speed now, grabbing the people on the roads as he placed them within the buildings.

“Everyone, I’ll help you. Run to the buildings!” Muscle Lantern shouted with a booming voice as he unleashed a beam that cast on everyone, empowering their bodies to allow them to flee.

“Can’t you leave me alone? I just want to have some fun.” The one that spoke was Pink Jail, fluttering along the wind as she stood on the side of a building near its top, her pink suit glistening under the evening sun.

Villain—Pink Jail!

Possessing the power to jail any substance within an object. Generally, she stuffed the ambient air into the objects to manipulate their properties.

Just consider the way she ran across the walls. Pink Jail first jailed air within the confines of the walls, causing them to leak in such a manner that the airwaves formed footholds for her to run across, with some even coiling around her legs to prevent her from falling.

Pink Jail wasn’t a strong power, but was something she turned strong through insane training. While stopping the bullets before, she stuffed air in them and caused the air to exit from their front, unleashing enough power to cancel their momentum.

Moreover, she did this while maintaining consistent internal pressure within the bullet to prevent it from exploding due to the stress. Also, she performed this for all the bullets flying at her bordering the speed of sound.

It displayed the terrifying control she wielded over her power, making her a terrifying villain.

Held in one hand was a large bag filled with valuables worth millions. And held in the other was a palm-sized box, one she always carried with her.

By jailing air within the box, she caused the air to leak out as she desired, unleashing a thrust to carry her in the air, balance her body during the theatrics she enacted, and even attack her enemies to catch them off guard.

Boom!

And that was what she did, unleashing a gust of wind at Muscle Lantern to send him flying. Though of course, Muscle Lantern was fine, brushing the attack as he jumped, flying through the sky to close in on her.

Hero Suit—Flight!

In their world, specialised suits were created that encompassed an ability of their own that the wielder could harness. Muscle Lantern was capable of strengthening his body muscles as he pleased, allowing him to perform superhuman feats.

But, as he was a close-combat unit, he lacked mobility, and that was where the ability of flight imbued in his Hero Suit came into effect.

“Surrender, villain!” Muscle Lantern shouted as he punched Pink Jail in the stomach, intending to knock out the other party.

But suddenly, intense winds gushed out of her body as Pink Jail took off to the skies, grinning, “Did you think I was standing here for a villainous pose?”

“Wrong! There was a water pipeline flowing through this place…”

“What?” Muscle Lantern’s face paled in response, watching the wall crack before a geyser of water slammed into him, sending him flying into the opposite skyscraper, raising screams of concern from the people.

“Gah!” Muscle Lantern coughed once as he pushed away the rubble, getting up to see Pink Jail flying through the air at speeds beyond which the helicopter could follow, gritting his teeth in anger, “Damn it!”

“Muscle Lantern…failed?” The people were shocked as countless passersby clicked pictures of a frustrated image of the Muscle Lantern. And soon, the pictures made their way into the evening news as the news anchor spoke with enthusiasm.

“This is the second time Muscle Lantern failed to apprehend Pink Jail this month. Is this a sign of failure among the Heroes? Or is Muscle Lantern just getting in on age to engage in Heroism any longer?”

“Damn these reporters!” A remote slammed into the TV as a middle-aged man cursed in response. He was Muscle Lantern in civilian clothes, “It’s hard to make a living as heroes these days.”

“Is that why you’re colluding with me?” A sultry voice resounded from nearby as a middle-aged woman walked out from the kitchen, setting up dinner on the table as she spoke, “Why don’t you just retire? I can still be active on the field.”

“Shut up!” The middle-aged man snorted in disdain, “Even though you’re strong, don’t you dare underestimate my junior Heroes. I’ve trained them, so I know very well that you might lose your life facing them.”

“Even if my reputation falls further, as long as we enact one more heist, we’ll have enough money to sustain ourselves for the rest of our lives.” He said, staring at the middle-aged lady with a loving gaze, “Besides, Heroism and Villainism are too dangerous for the wellbeing of our children.”

The Hero Muscle Lantern and the Villain Pink Jail were a married couple with children.
