Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

18 Hallucination?

“Ugh…” Zack muttered as his eyes slowly opened up and in front of his eyes were a pair of black glasses. He raised his right hand and took the glasses off.

‘Was I ejected out of the game?’ The teenager ruffled his black hair as the last thing he remembered was the fading image of the woman in front of him while he had been holding Chastiefol.

The watch on his hand was supposed to monitor his body and in case something was wrong with his body, the watch would immediately connect with the player’s glasses and eject him or her out.

But Zack was half sure that nothing had been wrong with his body. He had eaten food and was playing during the night so there was no need for the game to eject him.

But now that he had woken up, he could feel sunlight lighting up his room.

‘Wait… sunlight?’ Zack immediately turned to look at the only window in his room as he saw that the curtains were pulled away.

But he knew that he had closed the curtains last night before sleeping. And there was only one other person who could have opened them up.

‘Sis must have come to wake me up but had seen me playing the game. She could have just shaken me and the watch would send me an in-game message.’ The teenager thought with a sigh as he stood and started walking towards the bathroom.

But that’s when his feet hit something made from metal and he fell over.

Zack managed to plant his palms on the floor and prevent his face from hitting the floor. Yet his foot was aching badly.

But when he turned back to look what he had hit, his jaw dropped.

Laying beside his right feet was a golden-colored familiar-looking spear. It was none other than Chastiefol.

“What… How… The Fuck…” The teenager couldn’t form words to experience what he was seeing. The spear from Hikari was lying at his feet.

Zack pinched himself thrice and it hurt every time. He then decided to touch the spear with his legs and he could feel the cold metal touching his right foot.

However, a knock on the door suddenly made the teen sweat. A moment later, the door opened up and Mia’s head popped inside the room.

“Did you trip and fall?” She asked in a normal tone as she looked at her brother lying down on the ground.

He gave his sister a sheepish smile and nodded. Mia could only sigh at this action as she turned around and left.

The moment the door closed, Zack sprawled to his feet and stared at the ground.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ ‘Was I hallucinating?’

The spear was no longer there. The moment Mia had opened the door, Zack felt the spear vanish.

He sighed and went towards the bathroom. Under the hot running water from the shower, he kept on wondering whether thinking too much about the game had made him hallucinate.

But after coming out of the shower, he decided that there was no point in thinking about it for so long. After wearing his clothes, Zack went to the kitchen and sat at the dining table to eat breakfast.

Mia was sitting on the other hand and had already eaten half of her breakfast. The two siblings then quietly ate the rest of the breakfast before Mia decided to ask a question.

“So the way you are trying to earn money is through Hikari.” She said while looking at her brother’s face to see what kind of reaction he would have.

But Zack had already experienced this in his previous life so he nodded.

“It was the best way for me to earn. Though both of us have already graduated, no place was going to hire me this quickly, and working at Wacdonalds doesn’t exactly give you 75 million dollars a month.”

“How up are you on the rankings?” Mia then asked as she took the plates and put them in the sink. She had already heard about Hikari on the news and the companies had enough money to invest in advertisements.

Because of this, most of the world knew about it.

“I am number one,” Zack replied as he finished drinking his coffee. His sister on the other hand was staring at him with wide eyes.

“I don’t think that was a funny joke.” She replied as the he raised an eyebrow.

“Who said I was joking?” He asked back as Mia’s jaw dropped slightly.

If her brother was really at the first position in the entire game, it meant that he would gain 500 million dollars.

“I…” She began saying something but stopped. She had no idea what she would speak to Zack. Perhaps the reason the house looked untouched was because her brother had been putting all of his time in playing the game.

And he was doing that just to save her.

This touched Mia deeply and instead of saying anything, she walked and stood beside Zack. She then bent down and hugged her brother’s head to her chest.

The latter didn’t say anything and let his sister hug him for as long as she wanted. Her actions spoke more than she could have done with her words.

This was how Mia showed how much she appreciated her brother working hard for her. The siblings spent a few minutes in each other’s embrace before Mia managed to say something again.

“You just focus on playing the game, I will focus on the rest of the things.” She said as she pulled away from Zack and looked into his eyes. The latter smiled at his sister before shaking his head.

“Not like I ever did much.”

“Now you don’t need to do the things that you did.”

“I will do my laundry myself.”

“If that’s what you want.”

Mia then set out to do some house chores with a smile on her face. Zack hadn’t seen his sister smile this happily in a long time and now that he was seeing it, he knew that what he had been doing was worth it.

And with that thought, Zack decided to log in and play Hikari again.
