Jiang Ming held the gold card as he asked Alchemist Ren what this card is about.

Alchemist Ren was shocked for a bit when Jiang Ming didn’t know about the gold card.

“Cough, replying to Master, this gold card indicates your status. It’s a status that shows your importance and with this card, everyone would think twice before offending you.” Alchemist Ren coughed slightly before explaining the gold card in a prideful moment.

Jiang Ming nodded slowly as he exclaimed, “So this is like a proof of one prestigious identity right?”

“Yes, that is correct Master,” Alchemist Ren replied instantly as he was happy to be able to come up with such a gift for Jiang Ming..

As he is now an apprentice for Jiang Ming, everything he does is to curry favor and obtain his approval.

In alchemy, it’s not about one’s age to determine their senior status but knowledge. Knowledge in alchemy and those who are able to concoct the highest tier pill have the senior status and authority at those in the bottom.

Meaning, Jiang Ming is considered a 4th tier alchemist even if he doesn’t have a badge indicating his status because Alchemist Ren has witnessed Jiang Ming’s pill refinement with his own eye.

Alchemist Ren was only a 3rd tier alchemist so Jiang Ming had every right to call him little Ren now, especially when he is now his master.

Meanwhile, Hong Ling was glad she made the correct decision to follow Jiang Ming from now on.

‘Even Alchemist Ren who is known for his notorious behavior to others can be tamed by him. You could only wonder how far he would go.’ Hong Ling exclaimed inwardly as she wasn’t willing to become a burden for Jiang Ming.

She knew she had to improve her strength faster if she wished to even be qualified to accompany him as a maid.

“You have seen enough of my skills right, Bing Tong.” Jiang Ming suddenly said as he stared at Bing Tong.

Bing Tong snapped out of her daze and said bitterly, “It seemed you indeed have the capability to back up your arrogance.”

“It’s understandable that you would believe that I’m just overconfident since I can be considered an abnormal person. If you were still thinking about using your identity to pressure me into helping your predicament, you are free to do so.” Jiang Ming chuckled softly as he wasn’t dumb to not realize their scheme.

Bing Tong shook her head slowly as she said, “Sir Jiang Ming must be jesting now. I no longer have the qualification to command you even if I’m the princess of the current emperor.”

Alchemists were a strong organization and if the news were known that the imperial family threatened an alchemist to do an assignment, it would enrage a whole lot of people.

Alchemists may be eccentric but one thing they hate the most is when they force an alchemist to do something unwilling.

When that happened, they would stop providing pills and even shunned everyone who is related to the offender. No one was willing to risk such a situation as they needed cultivation pills to improve their strength.

Jiang Ming smiled at Bing tong as he said, “It’s not like I’m a heartless person that would refuse your request. If you can do me one favor then I can guarantee your illness would vanish.”

Bing Tong’s mood lightened up as she looked at Jiang Ming, “Really? You would still help me despite our intention previously.”

Jiang Ming nodded his head but not before he warned her something. “To cure your illness requires a lot of herbs and some process that is better to be said when we’re alone.”

Bing Tong didn’t understand why they needed to speak alone but she hurriedly agreed to Jiang Ming’s condition as long as it wasn’t something like offering her body.

“As long as you can cure me, I promise I will fulfill your favor no matter what. If it’s not something indecent then you’ll have my word.” Bing Tong said resolutely, with a princess aura and demeanor emitting from her.

Jiang Ming didn’t speak nonsense anymore as he informed her to meet him in the academy.

Shortly after, Bing Tong left the room, leaving Jiang Ming alone with Hong Ling and Alchemist Ren.

“Alright, Little Ren, come over here.” Jiang Ming waved his hand for Alchemist Ren in the side to go over to him.

Afterward, Jiang Ming pointed his finger at Alchemist Ren’s forehead and he felt a sudden flow of information in his brain.

Alchemist Ren was confused but he lowered his guard to allow Jiang Ming to do as he pleased and when he noticed what the information contained.

Shock and disbelief appeared in his face as he knelt down and thanked Jiang Ming in gratitude.

“Thank you master for such valuable information that cannot be bought.” Alchemist Ren was delighted to know his alchemy skill would improve as soon as he became Jiang Ming’s apprentice.

“No need to thank me. I would come and check on you occasionally so if I see you slack off then you’re going to get it from me.” Jiang Ming said as he prepared to leave the room.

Alchemist Ren saw that and stood up before opening the door for Jiang Ming. “Please allow this apprentice to guide the master through the exit.”

Jiang Ming smiled and nodded his head as Alchemist Ren walked forward to make a path for Jiang Ming to leave smoothly.

If there was some ignorant fool that dared to mess with Jiang Ming, Alchemist Ren would gladly backlist them from the alchemy guild permanently.

“Oh right, Little Ren, when I was here, some youth tried to make fun of me before. If I recall correctly, his name was… Sun Jichen.” Jiang Ming said when he saw Alchemist Ren walking down the stairs.

Meanwhile, Alchemist Ren was enraged when he heard Jiang Ming was displeased with Sun Jichen.

“Hmph, I know about that brat, Sun Jichen. To think his Sun family wanted to obtain some cultivation pills from me yesterday. They can all dream about it now.”

Alchemist Ren scoffed as he was going to target the Sun family now and make them suffer for their action.
