Chapter 541: Black Pillar

As the carriage disappeared from Charles's eyes, he calmly put the stopwatch in his pocket and turned his gaze towards the other gatekeeper.

At that moment, the gatekeeper noticed something was odd about his right eye. 

Instead of his usual azure eye, his right eye appeared more like a white crystal!

Noticing his surprised face, Charles suddenly cast [Burning Thoughts] spell on him and erased his current thinking.

When the gatekeeper recovered from the sudden blankness, Charles had already turned around and looked at the four-storied mansion. 

"I think my stomach is not well today." He said while touching his belly, took a step forward, and added.

"Watch over my duty. I'll be back in two minutes."

Before the other gatekeeper could open his mouth, Charles hurriedly moved towards the four-storied mansion building's entrance.

"Hey! Where are you going? You shouldn't use the mansion bathroom!" The gatekeeper shouted at him, but Charles shrugged it off and continued to walk.

Soon, he walked into the invisible layer that encircled the mansion, arrived in front of the wooden entrance gate, and pushed it open with both hands. 

The hall was as spacious as the one at the palace. The entire interior was decorated with splendid items and beautiful paintings. 

At that moment, the Divine Order members were doing different kinds of work like the last time and appeared busy.

Although some Divine Order members were startled by his sudden bargain, they soon returned to their work as they noticed that he was just a gatekeeper.

He calmly watched their movements, cast [Accelerate Thoughts] skill on himself, and moved towards the center of the hall.

At the same time, he closed his right eye, activated [Eyes of the Runes] skill, and analyzed them one by one.

'There are seven mages still here.' He muttered inwardly.

At that moment, each was doing different kinds of works like two were reading books, three of them appeared to be in the middle of creating a semi-liquid golem-like creature, and the other three were focusing on inscribing strange symbols on the black cloaks.

On the other hand, a few divine order members were focused on stitching strange goat-symbol badges on the cloaks; some appeared to be arranging the weapons like before and so on.

As Charles arrived at the center of the hall, one of the Divine Order members noticed his strange action and blocked his path.

At that moment, Charles focused his attention on all the mages and cast multiple [Burning Thoughts] spells on them in one go.

Simultaneously, he raised his hand and muttered coldly.

"Ember Needle."

A millisecond later, seven reddish ember needles appeared before his face, split in different directions, and moved towards the mages at an incredible speed!

Before the mages could wake up from the sudden blankness, reddish needles appeared before their forehead and entered deep into their heads.

"What are you doing-?" The Divine Order member tried to stop him, but Charles was ahead of him.

He calmly touched his space ring, cast [False Field] spell, and took out the Blackened Heart long sword. 

Then, he raised the sword above that guy's head and made a vertical slash.

His action was too fast, leaving only blurry images behind.

The next instant, the divine order member's body was split into two and fell, leaving a thudding sound behind. 

At that moment, the ember needles broke into two pieces and released chaotic fire-elemental energies into the Mages' bodies. 

Their skin turned eerily black, their body started to bulge, their eyes began to bleed, and finally, everyone let out terrific screams. 

Screams filled with pain and agony reverberated in the grand hall, and their thinking process also became messier due to chaos power.

Before the Divine Order members could even understand the situation, one mage's body expanded like a balloon and exploded while sending flesh, blood, and brain matters in all directions!

Soon, the other six mages' bodies also enlarged and exploded one by one.

It was a perfect assassination.

An eerie silence appeared in the grand hall.

The next instant, all the Divine Order members activated their [Devil's Form] skill and picked up their weapons before moving in his direction.

But Charles was nowhere to be seen.

No, he moved at an unimaginable speed, and they couldn't even perceive his movement speed!

The Divine Order members' heads started to detach from their bodies and rolled down on the concrete floor whenever he moved.

The whole grand hall was filled with nothing but blood and corpses in a few seconds.

Meanwhile, Charles stood at the center of the hall, closed his eyes, and released his wisdom power.

He then calmly scanned the building and soon saw multiple presences were moving towards downstairs from the second and third floor.

"Hmm, most of them are with low wisdom power… Ezra is not on the second and third floors. Hmm? Why can't I scan a particular room on the third floor?" 

He abruptly opened his eyes, zeroed his gaze on the right side staircase, and started walking in that direction.

At that moment, he also dismissed the [False Field] spell and stored the [Blackened Heart] sword into his space ring.

At the same time, he took out a monocle from his pocket, put it on his right eye, and then opened his right eye.

"I feel comfortable now." He nodded inwardly and continued to walk towards the stairs.

Although he could control his right eye to some extent, he still needed to comprehend more wisdom essence to stop its abnormal connection with the Dream World.

Shaking his head, he arrived in front of the staircase and moved upward. Although one or two Divine Order members ran towards his direction, he calmly raised his hand from time to time, cast [Finger of Destruction] spell, and killed them before they could even get closer towards him.

He reached the third floor in a minute, walked on the hallway, and soon saw a metallic gate at the other end.

As he focused on the door, he noticed that multiple arrays were placed over the gate and the surrounding walls.

"Hmm? Are they hiding something inside?" He muttered in curiosity. 

A few seconds later, he arrived at the 2 meters tall metallic double door, frowned deeply, and observed.

After another few seconds of observation, he moved towards the door, opened it with both hands, and saw another hall with golden-colored tiles. 

But unlike the main hall, this one appeared much smaller and was filled with many unique items like statues, tables, specimen glasses, ritual circles, and many more.

Charles's gaze swept past the tables, chairs, a strange black pillar at the center of the hall, and finally zeroed on a certain human figure who stood next to the pillar.

That figure appeared to be around 20 years old, had wavy blonde hair, a snub nose, amber eyes, and wore a normal grey robe.

Currently, he held a strange metallic box in his hand and seemed to be in the middle of reciting a chant.

'Ezra! But what is he doing?' Charles furrowed his brows as he looked at the black pillar and soon squinted his eyes.

It was a two-meter tall rectangular black stone filled with enormous rune characters. 

He could feel that each character held some mystic power and sensed a slight change in his inner emotions.

As he focused on the pillar, he noticed that strange powers were emitting from there.

Each of those characters was so complicated yet clear and emitted the purest form of multiple divine powers.

'I feel the power of Death, Chaos, Destruction, and… What is that? Time. No, it's something else. It's not Time Divine power, but it seems to hold a power greater than the time itself. Nothingness?' He tried to focus on a particular rune character that held that strange power to identify it but felt a sharp pain in his head. 

'Hmm, why do I feel like I have seen such similar pillars before?' At that moment, a memory flashed before his eyes.

'It was when my soul got shattered and carried by the crimson flame out of this world.'

When his soul left the exosphere, he saw similar black pillars up in the space!

But unlike this small one, they appeared to be around 100 to 300 meters tall and looked eerier!
