Draconic Vampire : Curse of the Blood

Chapter 50: Second Battle

Chapter 50: Second Battle

The second battle was between a Final stage baron and a middle stage baron. The Final stage baron was a tall, muscular vampire, who looked menacing with his huge build. On the other hand, the middle stage baron was almost half the size of his opponent.

He looked innocent with his younger look as there was not a shred of maliciousness shown on his face.

They closed their gap inside the arena and stood two meters apart. Keith noticed how the final stage baron had an amused expression while the middle stage baron was nonchalant. The middle-stage baron yawned while looking at the muscular vampire.

"Haa! Are you really feeling sleepy or pretending to be calm? I will know soon enough." The muscular vampire cracked his fingers. As soon as the signal was given the muscular vampire jumped at his opponent.

Boom!

The young vampire dodged the attack and moved from the spot. He circulated his blood-qi and tried to attack the big muscular opponent from the side. Because of the correct timing and proper positioning, the attack connected to the lower half of the muscular vampire and he was pushed back.

The young vampire used this opportunity to attack again and slid across the floor and appeared under the muscular man. He kicked the muscular vampire's crotch using all of his strength. He even used his blood-qi to strengthen the kick.

Wham!

Keith was marvelling at the incredible sight of a middle stage baron's exceptional skills. To be honest, he wasn't expecting this kind of outcome where the middle stage baron could defeat his opponent in a minute. Even if the fight was intense, it would take him a lot of time to exhaust the big vampire's stamina.

Seeing the muscular vampire lying on the floor with his eyes rolled up, the officials quickly entered the arena to check his vitals. The kick connected to one of the most vulnerable parts of the body and disturbance in blood-qi circulation due to the sudden shock rendered the muscular guy useless.

After checking his condition, the officials noticed a broken fragment of the armor worn by the final stage baron. It was a piece that matched the hole in cracked armor. The lower part was missing and it made the inside a mush. Keith turned his head around and tried to avoid imagining the worst.

'He's a vampire. I'm sure he'll do fine. '

Heaving a sigh he looked seriously at the middle stage vampire. From the short fight, Keith analyzed some of his powers, but it looked like he didn't use his full power. His techniques were flawless and there was not a single mistake in terms of execution.

The system needed a little bit more time to analyze the powers and come up with a detailed report. The short time frame of the analysis left out many important details. Even without a proper analysis, the system could capture some of the attributes of the middle stage baron.

First of all, the power output of the middle stage baron was on par with the final stage baron. Somehow the middle stage baron was able to offset the blood-qi difference with the help of a powerful technique.

Keith noticed strange flares all around his body when he got into certain positions. It was much more hidden and if not for the system's analysis, he wouldn't have spotted them.

'What is he hiding?'

[ His body wasn't showing signs of fatigue and from my calculations, he didn't even use seventy percent of his power in that last attack. His techniques are concealed really well. I can analyze his physique properly if you can get close to him.] The system suggested.

'Getting close to him? He is part of a noble faction so I can't approach him by normal means. '

Ah!

Keith remembered that he had to meet the manager inside the colosseum when he reached. The manager even said he could arrange a fight if he showed up.

Crack!

Keith heard a loud cracking sound from the side, and as he turned his head to what had happened, the seat beside was broken. The armrest was split in two and there was a large crack on the base.

"Uncle, what happened?" Keith asked, noticing an angered expression on him.

"Urg! I can't believe that little rat managed to defeat the final stage baron. I bet all of my money on the muscular guy, now I lost everything." He shouted in rage.

"Well, if you bet without knowing what the players are capable of, you are bound to lose." Kieth laughed.

"Hmph! What about you? How much money did you make?" Rufus asked with a mocking tone.

"I don't bet on money. I bet on lives. How about it? Will you participate in the tournament?" Keith asked provocatively.

"Who do you think you are talking to? I'm an old customer of the colosseum, they won't let me fight even if I wanted to." He brushed it off.

"You, on the other hand, could fight in the arena, my dear nephew. I lost all my money, so why don't you enter the arena and make something for me to recover my losses." He suggested.

Keith paused for a moment and thought seriously. His uncle brought him to this place for a reason, and it seemed like he wanted to put him through some kind of trouble. He was unsure how he could achieve it because Keith was the upcoming leader and forcing him was out of the question.

'This is what they came up with! Does he really think I would empathize with his lost wealth? What a moron.' Keith thought to himself.

Rufus looked at him expectantly, waiting for an answer.

'This is clearly a trap, but I want to know what's going to happen.'

[ If you think about it, he doesn't know you have a viscount level warrior frame and your blood core reached the final stages of baron. In my estimation, he paired you up with a low-level vampire. He couldn't afford to get viscount-level vampires anyway.]

'What you're saying does make sense…' Keith fell into deep thought.
