They sold slaves to players, and players with a slave-management-related job could bring their captives to brand and register them as official slaves. They could even auction pets, humanoid slaves, or tamed monsters by using the Labor Guild as a medium!
In short, getting all of them would make Xiaomao’s life a lot easier in the game. These were true P2W items that he needed.
