Almighty Summoner System

In the peripheral area of the Beasts-Filled forest, Lagom, one silhouette could be seen running at full speed along the huge trees.

The silhouette ran like there's no tomorrow, it's as if a menacing creature was following behind to devour him.

However, the truth could not be farther than that.

As instead of the menacing creature, what follows behind him was actually a palm-size ant, a Demon Ant in fact.

The human silhouette was called, Ban, while the tiny creature, the Demon Ant was called, Eva.

Ban ran with big strides, while little Eva followed closely behind with tiny, yet rapid steps.

Ban and Eva were already on their third run.

Even with the allocation of one minute break in every kilometer, they choose not to use it and instead continue with the run.

The reason for that was because the sky had already started to dark. As he was inside the cave for hours, Ban forgot about the situation outside. It was not a good sign, especially since they are inside the Beast-Filled forest right now.

The first thing he did this morning was to go to the Adventurer's Guild to awaken. After failing the awakening process, he immediately ran all the way to the Beasts-Filled forest, Lagom.

According to the System, the Almighty Summoner System arrived and installed itself unto him around a few hours after noon.

The Beast-Filled forest Lagom, was a forest known for its extreme environment. It was fortunate that Ban only decided to 'train' on the periphery of the forest or else, nothing should have remained with his body by now.

The Beast-Filled forest was where the adventurers often went to for adventures. It was a widely known fact that in the Beast-Filled forest, Lagom, in every danger lies great treasure.

Even though it was named as the periphery, it actually has a bigger area than expected.

The level of beasts in this area was relatively low, that's also one of the reasons why Ban dared to 'train' here. They mostly consist of insects and other small beasts that have the level cap of up to F-Apprentice Rank!

The Demon Ant Lair that he found with the System's help was also still in the peripheral area of the forest.

Anyways, as it was their third run already, and visible fatigue could already be seen on Little Eva's cute face, Ban decided to rest first before continuing with the fourth run.

"Let's rest and recover our stamina after this run first, little Eva!" Ban stated after spotting a suitable spot to rest.

Little Eva nodded cutely before wiping the sweat that rolled down her little crown.

After resting, Ban and little Eva run with all their might again.

They were now at their seventh run, and only a little more and they would be able to get out of the Beast-Filled forest, Lagom.

The bright sun had already turned orange as it was now trying to hide from the surface.

It was supposed to be a beautiful view but Ban was not in the mood to enjoy it.

The anxiety that Ban has been feeling ever since they got out of the Demon Ant Lair never receded and instead went even more rampant.

As he did not bring any supplies when he 'smartly' came here, they were now hungry and thirsty after all those running.

Ban's mouth was already a little dry from the lack of water, but he knew he would still be able to last until the city.

While running, Ban kept looking around for fruits and other foods that could be eaten, however, he did not manage to spot even one tiny fruit.

It was to be expected as they were at the periphery of the forest. As only low-level beasts could be seen here, adventurers that didn't dare to risk their lives in the inner area frequented here for possible treasures.

After years and years of 'treasure hunting,' the periphery was now almost empty. If the huge ordinary trees could be sold, Ban thought that this forest might have become an empty forest by now.

"Alright, we're almost outside the Beast-Filled forest, after past that point, we could just follow the road towards the city," Ban spoke, after wiping the precipitation present on his forehead.

Little Eva who was also getting tired by now nodded weakly. Just like Ban, she also wanted to rest and drink some water. Although they are already X-Rank Mortal creatures, it doesn't mean they don't need to eat and drink.

The anxiety that Ban was feeling grew more and more rampant the nearer they were on the exit.

And then, his anxiety turned into fear when a hideous creature appeared in front of them.

Ban and Eva were forced to halt their advance as fast as they could. Because if they didn't, they would surely bump and crash into it.

It was a gruesome looking creature without a clear face but was full of sharp fangs on its wide open mouth. Half of its body was buried under the ground, while the other half wriggled like a jelly above it.

Sticky liquids dripped out of its mouth like pouring rain as its thick tongue licked the protruding sharp fangs and horns.

Its slimy body throbbed like a beating heart as its body wriggled, trying to get out of the ground.

It's blood red eyes stared at Ban and Eva menacingly, as if a predator were eyeing at its prey.

Eva jumped directly on Ban's shoulder upon feeling the intense gaze, her whole body was drenched in sweat and was shivering in fear.

She kept on poking Ban's cheek with her tiny arms worriedly as she took side glances at the hideous creature not far away from them.

Krrrr! Krrrr! Krrrr!

Ban felt a shiver down his spine upon identifying the name of the creature in front of them.

"Night Worm!"

Hissed!
